In the current world fast food is a staple in all countries all over the world. Restaurants that make this obesogenic food are everywhere, and that is only where the problem originates. Fast food is known to be no good for the human body, but people still continue to eat it while knowing the consequences. It seems as though the teenagers of today have no chance. The measures proposed by many experts and parents are too drastic for teens to accomplish, and there seems to be no education that is accessible to teens. The government needs to provide education through media that is targeted towards the teen generation such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and also provide programs or measures that are able to be completed without the need for drastic action.
Parents are the people that influence the choices their kids make in every aspect of their life, one of these being the food that they eat. It seems that since fast food restaurants are so ubiquitous, it is the easy choice when on the way home after a long day. This is a good idea in the moment, but how many times is this situation happening in the week. If the kids are eating fast food everyday after school because the parents are too tired to cook a meal after working a 12 hour day, do the parents really consider the health of their children. Daniel Weintraub, a contributor to The Sacramento Bee explains “...when both parents are working, or only one parent in the home...Fast food is fast. It can also seem cheap…(13)” Weintraub writes about this topic because just one week before the publication of his article,a public health group came before Gov. Davis and proposed to declare child obesity a state emergency, but Weintraub has a better solution, show the parents that they need to change the way their kids eat by making better choices in the home. This is a feasible solution. The parents educate their kids starting from an early age how to make healthier choices, and then as they grow up to be teenagers, teach them how to eat fast food in moderation along with an exercise program. Most teens, including myself, are okay with going to the gym because they can gain muscle while simultaneously starting a healthier lifestyle. Going to the gym is a way to get
As the obesity rate in America increases, people are pointing fingers at the fast-food industry. Teenagers, with the help of their parents, have filed lawsuits blaming fast-food restaurants like McDonald’s for their own health problems. However, parents, not the fast-food companies, are to blame for the amount of overweight children that are present today. They are the ones who teach their children eating and exercising habits, they are the ones who let their young consume unhealthy foods, they are the ones who allow their children to watch television and play on the computer for hours on end, it is obviously the parents fault for obesity in youth.
Would you like to have no decisions on the healthiness of your food, and being able to only eat fast food, fried foods, etc. Most people would say no and rightfully so, people should be able to have choices on the foods they want to eat whether it’s healthy, unhealthy, fast food, farm grown, we shouldn’t have only unhealthy foods for our choices of what we eat. In the film Food Inc. directed by Robert Kenner there is a part in the movie that talks about the food choices of consumers. A point that was talked about for a decent amount of time in this part was how healthier foods are more expensive than fast food. This stood out to me because it’s true it cost more to eat healthy than it does to just go through a drive through. This is outrageous it should be the opposite, we should have to spend more for fast food than healthy foods. While at most fast food places there are ways you can eat healthy food but it is still more expensive than just buying a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets. During this part of the film a family was talking and saying that they have to choose whether to eat healthier food or get there father/husbands medicine so he could work. A family has to choose between those to things and that is not fair to anyone that has to make that decision. The family wanted to have better food and to not always be eating fast food meals but they don’t really have a choice and that is heartbreaking to see.
Most kids around the world are diabetic and overweight and something needs to be done about it. I see a lot of kids at my school and in public that are overweight. Many of those kids have a plate full of food. Most kids eat a lot of junk food which is unhealthy for them. Paragraph 1, 2, and 3 talk about overweight kids and how they can live healthier lives.
The world economy has become fast-paced, and this has forced people to transform their lifestyle in order to adapt to the changing pace. Family structures have evolved drastically with modern mothers having outside careers rather than being housewives. Granted such mothers get out of work worn out with little strength to prepare a proper meal for the family. They often opt for an easier way of preparing a meal for their families. This is the foundation for the thriving of the fast food industry. A number of nations have been transformed to fast food nation with American society being on the lead followed by Britain. American hosts the largest fast food industry in the world with outlets in over 200 foreign nations. With conveniences around
Food wasting, hunger, climate change, all of these contribute to the need to understand the preposterous point of throwing away food when we believe it is not needed, when there is so many ways “extra” food can help other cities and even countries with their hunger issue. We have reached to believe it is simply not our problem most of the time and just pushing the subject under the rug, if we do not address the topic of world hunger more seriously, I feel as though we are contributing to the death count and the abomination that food wasting causes on our planet and to our fellow people. That is what Food foolish by John M. Mandyck and Eric B. Schultz is trying to make any reader understand. Answer me this, you do not say no to your child

b. Each day, 1 in 4 Americans visits a fast food restaurant (Fast food facts).
The world seems to become a busier place every day, and finding the time to shop, cook, and eat healthy seems to become increasingly difficult. The importance of a healthy diet, however, can not be overstated. When one looks at the bodily benefits of a diet rich in processed foods, versus foods that are more nutritiously wholesome, the effects are clear.

I conclude with the fact that we do have an obligation to better take care of ourselves by making changes in the way we eat or buy and consume food, though, I do not think we will be able to break our addiction to unhealthy foods. U.S citizens are on the daily eating cheap foods uninterruptedly and considering they have been doing it for so long, it will be extremely at most challenging to break this addiction. Food to Americans taste-buds are so used to the high fat and higher calorie foods. Now that we have better foods that are better though worse for you to eat than natures, such as heads of lettuce or broccoli, which makes it harder for someone to purchase lettuce rather than a McDonalds Burger. Yes, some foods are just flat out awful for us to consume, but what about those foods that we do not know what is really inside of them? How are we going to even try to take better care of ourselves by making changes in the way we eat or buy and consume foods if we do not even know what we are really eating at times? We as human beings should automatically have the right to know what we are eating. Obviously it leads to suspicion if they aren't placing labels being truthful with everything that is added. Before, it was not easy for us consumers to have knowledge about what we were actually eating. At one point, the government let loose and disarmingly started to allow for us to know a little more about what we are eating. Now, they are adding things that they know they should
The fact that America allows its food companies to put such unhealthy ingredients in their products is in itself a very troubling issue. In order to truly resolve the junk food crisis in America, regulations must be implemented that limit the amount of harmful substances that can be distributed into foods. Until now, the food industry has been allowed to frivolously put hazardous substances into their products to bolster sales, regardless of the various threats they pose to human health. Snacks that were once considered to be healthy are now filled with harmful substances that consequently make them fall under the category of junk foods instead. A perfect example of this is the Lunchables snack. While the majority of parents consider them to be a healthy lunch option for their children, Lunchables actually contain many harmful ingredients that make them the complete opposite of the quick and nutritious meal that they are marketed as. Moss states in his article that, “These would be promoted as more healthful versions, with “fresh fruit,” but their list of ingredients — containing upward of 70 items, with sucrose, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, and fruit concentrate all in the same tray — have been met with intense criticism from outside the industry.” By allowing the food industry to negligently use substances that sacrifice nutrition for enhanced flavor, society is allowing the once healthy options for daily meals to become ammunition in the junk food epidemic
“I am lovin’ it”, McDonald’s, a worldwide fast food chain’s slogan should be a concerning thought to many; is society actually “lovin’ it”? The results that come out of eating this convenient food can produce long-lasting effects on the human body, some beneficial and detrimental. Alongside the health problems that can come about from consuming fast food, these quick-service restaurants impact the agricultural world too. On the other hand, the cost and the changes made with preparing it are just some of the leading benefits, as well as making nutrition values available. Fast food has been continuously slammed for being synonymous with unhealthy food, but in recent years, our grease filled foods have shown to produce some benefits and disadvantages.
Quite a lot parents are worried about a balance diet in their house because this issue is linked to the health of the family. In reality, a healthy balance has been requiring as a variety of forms such as home meal, alternative food and nutrition intake. However, some parents are suffering from making a healthy balance; as a result, children often come up against the multiple health challenges: nutrition deficiency, obesity, diabetes, digestion problem and even heart disease. Consequently, how should parents access on a healthy balance? Although, some parents say that they cannot afford to pay attention to the whole issue of food in the house, but I would like to say that some simply approaches exist around us, and those do not need a huge effort for a healthy balance.
Hunger is one of the key issues on the planet today. Not simply in small portions of the world, but rather everywhere. Americans today depend on our food system and take the amount of food we have for granted. What Americans aren’t understanding, is that every piece of food we discard, a child is starving elsewhere. Not only are we wasting the food we buy, but 40 percent is just going to squander. Newsweek, Bonnie Tsui, magazine publisher says, “Forty percent of all food is never eaten, and this rejection of “ugly food”—the misshapen or imperfect produce that gets thrown out before it ever hits the supermarket display—is a major contributor to food waste.” Americans have excessively numerous choices when it comes to picking out their produce. If it doesn't look clean enough, they choose another one. America wastes a ton of/ food every day, instead of focusing on which produce looks better to eat, we should be focusing on cutting down the amount of food we waste and saving money.
It seems fast food is for deep-fry fans, not deep thinkers. Obesity today is an even greater problem than it was in the 1970’s, and the cravings will only worsen unless something drastic is done. Consumers ignore serving sizes on many food products as they build up portions anyway. Concerned citizens want to put a complete stop to obesity by raising prices on the unhealthy food and drinks, just like how the government fixed teen smoking. Plus, parents need to ensure their children correct their diets to healthy choices to counter the push factor of fast-food and sweets. Overall, raising awareness of calories, reducing fast-food, and crippling portion size will obliterate the percentage of the overweight among the Centennial generation.
