Were you ever once in middle school, and just wanted to do dumb things with your childhood friends? Doing it to the extreme may have been exclusive to just my group of friends, but I can promise our friendships will last for the rest of our lives. I remember we would all stay the night at someone's house. Then we would go to bed at an incredibly late time, and we would wake up at six in the morning to bike to a taco shop. This wasn’t just an ordinary taco shop, it was an authentic Gas Station Taqueria. It sounds so stupid, which it was, but for some reason doing things like riding bikes to get tacos just brought me and my best friends closer together.
Going to the taco shop eventually became a tradition of ours, and like National Geographic claims National Geographic quotes “ “To break bread together” a phrase as old as the bible, captures the a power of a meal to forge relationship”. I think that food in general, but more specifically just sitting down and eating with people is how you get to know them and develop a relationship with them. These days most teenagers just sit on their phones when they go eat with friends, and I feel like that distances us from our peers, which is the opposite of what eating with people naturally does. These days, eating has become one of America's favorite pass times and it's thought of as a hobby, oppose to a part of survival. When you do things you love, which in this case would be eating, with the people you love, then a very special bond
Thank you for your time today. I am writing to you in hope that you will understand the issue and be motivated to make changes due to it. In the united states at least 678,000 deaths each year die due to poor diet, lack of nutrition, obesity and obesity rates have tripled in children. Children all learn what they know, and that includes knowledge on a proper diet, in school, so why are schools not helping enough in this matter? Why are schools hiding healthy eating habits behind bought pizzas and chips and other junk foods in the cafeteria? We, in the united states, are required to educate children in health at schools, through P.E. and health classes, and should not undermine their work by giving out the opposite of what we suggest. Many may say that this takes away freedom or is not that big of a problem, but do children really want to be obese or unhealthy? Do students want to die young from linked diseases such as Diabetes type 2 and cardiovascular diseases? No. They would still have food choices, but they would be able to have better options to choose, ones where facts and statistics do not cause fear in parents, but happiness.
And once again you begin training looking on the Internet for any tips you see that eating a greasy meal will help soak up some of the alcohol affect. And now they got these pills for hangovers it seems to have worked the pills help with the hangover and the greasy meal soaks up some of the alcohol. But even with the pills and food sometimes you wake up in the shower one time you woke up your outside in your underwear you can laugh about it now. After another week you've improved you feel that you training is complete you really don't want to do this training crap anymore though. And just like before you set up the beer challenge as you take a deep breath that's when you hear the door open and Jessica comes into the front room.
You sit down at your lunch table, tray piled high, licking your lips. Eyes staring in awe at the food before you. Everyone else in the commons is getting up to clear their trays, but you don’t take notice. Just as you are about to dig in, a voice calls out. “TWO MINUTES!

A healthy, delicious, lunch is what many schools strive for, however many don’t follow suit in the best way possible. I am writing to you, Mr. Dawson, to address the fact that Ronald E. McNair High School fails to provide their students with wholesome meals. As you may know, the Lodi Unified School District has food services that “promotes and brings attention to our freshly prepared school meals made from California grown products” (School Nutrition And Fitness). To promote even “healthier” eating, McNair actively participates in the USDA case study, inviting mobile carts to bring lunch closer to the students (School Nutrition And Fitness). Even with additional efforts put forth, students still find the lunches unappetizing (due to low-grade food quality) and prefer to eat other alternatives.
“I'll take the chicken please, oh! And the carrots please.” “Number please,” “Where's your money?” “Wait a second, three dollars is not enough?” “Get him the cheese sandwich!” Every day something like this in the lunch line happens, if three dollars for a small lunch isn't enough, then I don't know what is. These days in schools, lunch prices have gone way up and is getting to the point where it's getting close to 4 dollars.
In preparation for the community presentation, we brainstorm our ideas to answer questions who and where is our target population? With our instructor approval, we are given the privilege to work with primary school children at Roosevelt Elementary School. What is the ongoing problem and what topic we need to present to bring awareness, health promotion, information and education to this particular population? Unanimously we agreed that children obesity has been a continuous and increasing problem in our schools in Scottsbluff and a growing concern for this nation and its future due to the increase of unhealthy foods consumed by our school children, such as foods that are low in fiber, high fat, high sugar and sodium which contributed to unnecessary weight gain and children obesity. As student nurses, we agreed that in line with the goal of Healthy People 2020 goal to promote and advocate healthy eating by increasing intake of fruit and vegetables in our school children diet by doing so, we decided to present “Healthy Food Choices.” It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that the public should consume adequate amounts of dietary fiber from a variety of plant foods. Dietary fiber is defined by the Institute of Medicine Food Nutrition Board as "non-digestible carbohydrates and lignin that are intrinsic and intact in plants." Populations that consume more dietary fiber have less chronic disease. Higher intakes of dietary fiber reduce the risk of developing several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, and have been associated with lower body weights. Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to donate their time to Three Square, to assist residences of Southern Nevada with food insecurity. Thesis: Food Insecurity in America can be resolved if individuals begin to donate time at their local food banks such as Three Square.
Daily routines: Lunch Count - Students should be accustomed to doing lunch count on their own by this point at the front of the room on the mini whiteboard. All of my students have their own lunches so I would not worry about this step.
Rigorous work, exhaustion; and unbearable temperatures. FINALLY! Time for lunch, but us students face 20 cents more each year, yet we’re provided less, lengthy lines, and undesirable food. The food provided for us is not necessarily revolting, but could be improved.
