Thank you for subbing for me today! Daily routines: Lunch Count - Students should be accustomed to doing lunch count on their own by this point at the front of the room on the mini whiteboard. All of my students have their own lunches so I would not worry about this step. Attendance: Students do not have assigned seats this week, but I have my rosters on my desk and my seating charts on clipboards. I also provided a list of students for each class on the last page of the sub plans for today. You can send attendance with Olivia Stoll or call Lisa in the office. *3rd hour - You will have about students for study hall. They are allowed to go on chromebooks as long as they are focused on what they need to accomplish. If they ask to go to 1/4/5/9 period - Science (Class in 802) - First hour to meet in classroom for attendance …show more content…
Extra copies should be found on my desk, but the students should have a copy in their research paper packet. Have the students complete the peer review by switching packets and computers with another person from the class. Once they have finished they should work on the paper since the final copy is due tomorrow. Civics - 7th Make sure you have the chromebooks from ______ for this class period. On googleclassroom the students will find a game to play. Have the students play the game and once they have finished make sure they have printed the results page to show that they participated in class today. Remind students that they have a seminar tomorrow for the first half of the period. They will need to have all of their notes prepared for discussion and an article to mention as well. If they finish preparing and playing the game they may work on their science paper or other homework. Helpful students in each class: 1 - Brooke, Sophie, Jacob 4 - Jack Yore, Sarah 5 - Mia, Paige, John, Joey 7/9 - (This class is extremely helpful in general and will do anything you need them to
At first, Chromebooks may seem fundamental. Once you see what kind of sites students are going on, you'll see why they have to go.
I would also stick with either the Jeopardy game for the rest of the class or instead of letting the students pick one activity to do after the game, I would set up three centers and let students do each center for the rest of the class time. I would do this because it took more time than I thought it would to go over the review video. Cutting back on what I put in the lesson, I would have more time to go over the review and then give them one fun activity that allows them to practice what we are reviewing and not run out of
Pass out the student handouts (handouts will be stapled together in a packet—each student gets one packet with materials)
My CT has a class Padlet account where each student has their own account link to hers. On this Padelt account is where my CT has all her online activities and lesson on for students to access either in class or at home. Each student their own Chromebook to use throughout the school year. Students are responsible for the condition of this Chromebook, leading to a lesson in responsibility in general. Technology plays a large role in the students learning. Chromebooks are used almost on a daily basis as a tool to further students research skills and a way to differentiate instruction in that the text is read to the students, there are videos, and interactive
The new chromebooks at Sherwood Middle School have great qualities, like easy access and organization. But, when they break or have a poor connection they aren't so easy to learn on, especially for the people who learn better on paper. The chromebooks are definitely a great learning tool, but have some problems and setbacks. Figuring out a way to merge the chromebooks with paper could help many students learn
This artifact is a fun game I created to help my students study. It has 5 subjects and each subject has five questions, each of the questions are worth a certain amount of points. Whichever team answers the most questions right and has the highest score at the end will win something. I created this game using a PowerPoint template I got off of the internet and I came up with a handful of questions. I would use a project like this for several occaisons helping study for quizzes, tests and end of year exams. I met the above standard by evaluateing and reflecting on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student
The grade level that will have lunch at the classroom is to have access to the cafeteria before the other two grade levels come
An assignment that the teacher gave us was to partner into teams of three and design Jeopardy games for the last remaining 7 or 8 sub-units in our curriculum. Upon completion, we would show him the game for his review to be used. It had to be a game that any students could know after had studying it or learning it in class. This indirectly allowed us to learn more because we had to research our sub-unit and create questions that provoked mental stimulation in our peers but not too much that they would get frustrated playing our game.
For this professional development training session teachers will be using Chromebooks, Google classroom, and the website padlet as a collaboration
In Mrs. S’s classroom, the students were able to use their Chromebooks to look up Ohio Laws for one of their class assignments. Within the classroom, students had access to one on one Chromebooks and
Chromebooks also offer more learning programs and things like that for students. Noredink, Vocabulary.com and Teentribune are some examples.
For the next week, I will prepare some games which are fun and help them developed some coping skills because they mention a point in the peers group on Friday that they felt boring and not helpful because they were doing exactly same thing from Monday to Friday. They want something more challenge, stimulated or fun to do. I will bring a board game which called “Consequences” to introduce the idea about every action will have consequence behind and I will let them share what they think and what options they have to have good
. Will you assign seats or allow students to sit were they wish to sit?
Next, the students played the Deal or No Deal game. Overall I think the activity went great. The students were having fun and engaged in the game. I was concerned the worksheet would be too complicated, but the students were able to catch on well after doing an example one together. However, it did not take long for the students who had the deepest understandings to quickly calculate the probability for their entire table. As a result, not all of the students got the practice of calculating and representing probability in different ways; unfortunately, this was especially true for the students who needed the most practice because they would be quick to copy what their other teammates had written. Next time I do this activity I will have them play the game in partners to discourage students from just depending on one or two people at their tables.
