Persuasive Speech

I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.

Persuasive speech outline purpose: To persuade my audience to donate blood through the American Red Cross. Introduction:

It was October 6, 1998 when he was lured from the bar that cold, fateful night. His skull was smashed with a pistol butt as he was lashed to a fence, left for dead in near freezing temperatures. Nearly eighteen hours later he was found by passersby and taken to a hospital where we remained in a coma for several days until slowly slipping away. At his funeral, picketers carried signs saying, "God Hates Fags" and *Fags Deserve to Die."

Have you served in a war? Has your father or mother served in a war? How about your grandpa? As we honor those who have served we typically do so by standing for the pledge of allegiance or star spangled banner. We say thank you to our war heroes or we go and visit them and listen to their stories. In this paper I will be discussing why NFL players should not be allowed to kneel for the flag. Although the NFL players have the right to peacefully protest, they should find a different way than kneeling as it shows disrespect towards the flag also active duty military and veterans, it teaches young children this behavior is okay, what they are protesting has nothing to do with the flag and there are many different ways to get their message out.

I do have one concern though, and I am sure you have looked into it before, but I would like you to reconsider the situation. In past years, many students have wondered why we do not have a soccer team. Having a soccer team would open up so many different paths in the high school for students, staff, and even the community.

Students at Palmyra Area High School should not be allowed to display information supporting the display of the Confederate Flag in the atrium. The flag is seen as a controversial symbol, and can allow disruption to happen throughout the school. Supporting the flag is seen as a something throughout heritage, however, the flag can also be seen as racist. Throughout school hours, the school has the privilege to monitor the student's free speech, attempting to make the school a place that all the students want to be.

My fellow Huaorani we are facing a mass extinction. If we don’t act soon the tradition we have set up will disappear completely. The oil companies are trying to take over the ground beneath us because there is oil. They will stop at nothing to continue to make a profit and will show no mercy to us doing so. They look at us as if we are not even human, they show no respect for our traditions or our way of life.

I was a very conceited third grader. All children have the tendency of overconfidence; I was no exception. But back in third grade, it was even worse.

For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Gov it explains that an individual can donate items like clothing, household furniture and furnishings, a car or boat, even taxidermy. The donations are appraised, by the donator, and recorded. Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.” Every single day of my life I have lived by this quote and have felt the effects of it but it was not until two years ago that I understood it. “MARGARET ANNE BECKETT get your butt out of bed!” my mom screamed from outside my door. I trudged out of bed in desperate need of caffeine. I have never been fond of the morning but this morning I was desperately hoping would just disappear. You know that day that you wish would just fall into the background and would never happen again. My first day of JROTC was just that. I despised the Army program with all my heart. Why did I have to do this stupid program it was full of people I didn’t know who would think I was the strangest person that they ever met. Taking the shortest shower known to humanity I threw on a hoodie I had permanently borrowed from one of my sibling and a pair of yoga pants. The smell of eggs wafted down the hallway and I knew in my heart that they were for me. I slowly trudged into the kitchen dreading the moment those yellow runny things slid on my plate. “Mom don't we have something else to eat for breakfast we have already had them 4 times this week and it is only Wednesday.” If there is a look that could make a grown man shut up and start crying that look my mom gave me was exactly that. I forced the rubber like food down my throat and jumped into the car. What have I gotten myself into? The only reason I had
