Peta investigation found a farmer killing injured turkeys by beating them with a metal rod, leaving them alive and tossing them aside to slowly die. The industry deemed this act as legal and ignored the farmers beating the turkeys. Many turkeys were taken to the slaughter sick and half dead for being loaded on the transportation truck and given no water or food and traveling through unforeseen weather conditions. The final words of Alec Baldwin from the PETA investigation is when you sit down at your table, become a vegetarian for the sake of all the animals in the world. The problem with the animals continue to be abuse are people turning their heads to the abuse. The profits from the animals are more important than their treatment.
“For most humans, especially for those in modern urban and suburban communities, the most direct form or contact with non-human animals is at meal time: we eat them. This simple fact is the key to what each one of us can do about changing these attitudes. The use and abuse of animals raised for food far exceeds, in sheer numbers of animals affected, any other kind of mistreatment” (Coats). The most effective method to stop this cruelty is to learn about where the meat comes from, by supporting the organic and family farms which will ultimately lead to the reducing the amount of animals that have to suffer (PETA). More than 95 percent of animal abuse in America occurs in the meat packing industry (Harper & Low). Animals suffer an unimaginable amount, they are raised to be killed, then bought and then consumed. In order to help fight back against the abuse, there needs to be a cut back on the amount of meat or poultry that is consumed. Seriously consider the option of becoming a vegetarian; by not eating meat, you completely stop supporting animal
In the United States, hunters are being interrogated by an ignorant organization better known as PETA, which stands for "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals." I believe this uneducated group of people are lacking knowledge of what an avid hunter actually does. The definition of a hunter is not just a person that hunts. A true hunter is a skilled human being or animal that is willing to kill for an apparent necessity. Although PETA has over 3 million members and supporters, there are over 20 million active hunters in America. (Hunters against PETA) The amount of hunters are significantly higher than PETA members. PETA should not be against wild game hunters in America because of the economic growth, game population
The treatment of animals on slaughterhouse farms get treated like they have no use, when they are of great use to humans. Animals should not get treated like they are useless. The workers that treat animals poorly need to be fired. They are being inhumane and unreasonable. Those animals that are suffering are doing it to provide a meal on millions of people’s tables. The way we kill animals makes no sense. Think about being in those animals positions. What would you want to change if people were skinning you alive, or pounding your head to the ground so you’ll die?
Some of those would be practicing sterile operations, keeping pens clean and freshly bedded, and by properly euthanizing animals before they are made into food. The article specifically states that cows are “hoisted upside down by their hind legs and dismembered while they’re still conscious.” This is untrue because all animals are dead before they are slaughtered because that is proper procedure and is always
All around the world, people are abusing animals. Animal cruelty is a big deal because some people do not look at animals as being important; some people do not see a problem with hurting them. Animal cruelty can be define as being a malicious treatment that can cause undue pain or being mistreated. Seeing an animal get brutalize by some humans seems to be cruel. Getting kicked in the ribs, left for starvation and even used for entertainment seems to be heartless. Why abuse animals when they have not done anything to harm a human. If one must see what they are really doing to these animals, then animal cruelty would not be a big deal.
Despite the polling of the 94% almost 10 billion farm animals each year are suffering and if the consumers would have seen how they were treated they might have thought twice before they bought it. Another thing to think about is more than 10,000 american horses die for human consumption even though that 80% say it shouldn’t happen. 1
For years animal testing has been happening, with the same animals being used. Instead of using a variety of animals, science labs stick to certain species. PETA names the main core animals being abused are: mice, rats, primates, cats, and dogs. PETA has revealed mice and rats are used for more than just toxicology, they say:
Animal Cruelty is a growing problem in today's society.
There is a large problem of animal cruelty linked to the food industry in the United States. Countless slaughterhouses, chicken farms, and other meat producers have been found guilty of harming animals and killing them inhumanely. This is something that clearly needs to change.
The cruel and disgusting conditions that animals have to face every day shouldn’t be allowed. In a nationwide survey of America 94% of people, a staggering majority agree that animals which are raised to be used as food should be free from abuse
According to PETA, an organization to help put an end to to animal testing, more than 100 million animals are used each year for animal experimentation. In 2010, PETA investigated a laboratory in North Carolina called Professional Laboratory and Research Services. PETA said that: “For nine months, a PETA investigator worked undercover inside the filthy, deafeningly loud kennels of PLRS. Laboratory workers appeared to despise their animals in their care- they yelled profanity at cowering dogs and cats and used pressure hoses to spray water (as well as bleach and other harsh chemicals) on them; and dragged dogs who were too frightened to walk through the facility. PLRS didn’t bother to keep a veterinarian on staff. Animals endured bloody feces, worm infestations, oozing sores, abscessed teeth, hematomas, and pus- and blood-filled infections without receiving adequate veterinary examinations and treatment. Sometimes, the conditions were ineffectively handled by workers who had no credentials or veterinary training.”
Introduction: Circuses are a magical place where families take their children to watch the performances, right? Wrong. Elephants held in circuses against their will, are beaten, starved and forced to stand on their head for the enjoyment of children. Does that still sound magical? The same things happen in zoos
Animal abuse and neglect happens everywhere. Different states are trying to crack down on different facilities and expose them as to how they are treating animals when they're about to be slaughtered. This article “States Target Against Animal-Rights Activists With Law Banning Undercover Videos” by Tennille Tracy (2015) talks about going undercover into different facilities seeing how they handle animals. She talks about how companies ship meat from and abused and neglected animal. Videos and footage reveal how the person was treating the animal and its evidence that will be used in court for the person to serve jail time or has to pay a fine.
For many years now the world has seen controversy over the rights of animals and if they think and feel like humans do. Many people see animals as mindless creatures or as food, while others think they have emotions and can feel pain. In other countries animal protection laws are in place that are strictly enforced and seem to work well with the system. In the United States however; some of the animal rights laws are considered to be useless and under-enforced (Animal Legal & Historical Center). More people today are beginning to see that animals should have rights and should be protected by laws and regulations (Animal Legal & Historical Center). Sadly there are many people residing in the United States who don’t take animal rights or protection laws seriously. These people abuse animals in many ways, including food industries that disobey the regulations set in place for the slaughter of animals used for consumption. Luckily for the animals there are people who fight for their rights and the enforcement of laws called animal rights activists.
It is suggested that pitbull owners feed their pets the foods that have what the breed requires in nutritional value. The dog food should contain nutrient sources that are similar to that found in their native lands that their ancestors ate. The requirements for a pitbull are a balance of protein, carbohydrates, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Many dogs are taken to the vet because of nutritional related problems. If the dog is not getting the proper nutrients that their diet requires they can suffer from dry/itchy/flaky skin, hot spots, yeast infections in the ears, or thyroid-liver-kidney problems. The best diet for the pitbull is one that the owner makes fresh, using quality ingredients, without preservatives.
