This essay will discuss how Margaret Eaton School came to be and why it is considered one of the leading schools in the development of women’s physical education in Canada in 1901, with the help of Emma Scott Raff and Margaret Eaton. Every single human being that exists is different. We are inherently unique and distinguishable between every other person in the world. We are a diverse and unique population and we vary from one another in regards to race, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background and so much more. This means that as a professional, we will have to work with people from all different backgrounds and experiences. The national curriculum states that ‘PE develops pupils’ competence and confidence to take part in a range of physical activities that become a central part of their lives, both in and out of school.’ (QCDA, 2008)

The key aims of PE on the national curriculum focusses on a healthy lifestyle developing competence across several physical activity areas and for children to be active for sustained periods of time and encouraging children to engage in competitive activities and sports (Smith 2014. P213).

P.E is my favorite subject in school because we get to learn about all sports. PE is fun we do units on every sport for example volleyball , basketball and football. So at P.E we get to play games we have different games for different sports so like if were in the basketball unit we would play keep away. Every tuesday we run a full lap around all the soccer goals are P.E teacher Mr.Fontaine he wants us to improve on are running.after every unit we take a test on that sport that's a big part of are P.E grade.

Physical education has numerous psychological, sociological, and physiological benefits. At its core, proper physical education class helps children become more intelligent, learn cooperation and teamwork, reduce stress, improve self-confidence and develop self-esteem.

SPARK, also known Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids, was a program originally designed to focus on the fundamental motor skills for children ages 4-6 and has grown into stretching up all the way through high school students. Since 1989, they have focused on how the environments and behavioral changes in their students can build to create a healthy, and highly active physical education curriculum for all levels. Not only does it help students develop these motor skills, but does it in a way to promote lifelong wellbeing. This program has been researched immensely and has compared to be much better than the tradition physical education classes.

I believe that physical education and health give a unique opportunity to the students to contribute to the overall well-being and student’s development. As a teacher I believe that the most important things that I can teach my students is a love to be physically active because i believe that physical ability will affect every aspect of student’s life including their mental health, academic achievement, self-esteem, social competency and ability to function well in any environment.
