Plagiarism is copying another person's ideas, words or writing and pretending that they are one's and one’s own work. Whenever another person's work is copied and republished without an appropriate reference it is considered plagiarism. Because it is so easy to copy and paste digital information, plagiarism in the information age has become a serious problem.
