Lifetimes ago, just after the Titans were captured and cut up into pieces in Tartarus, an argument between Poseidon and Zeus brewed. “Zeus, my brother, we can’t just let humans be like this. Our father Cronos made humans the way they are so they would be easier to capture, and torture! Their four legs make them not be able to walk properly, and two souls per body. Each soul has wishes that are different, and personalities, we can’t let them live this way!” Poseidon pointed out. Zeus remained speechless and thought about it throughout the night. Humans had four arms and legs, two heads, two souls, in one big body. Cronos made humans like they were so they could be easier to capture, and torture, and even with Cronos and the other Titans, gone, their life was miserable. During the night Zeus thought it over and decided that he would get much more praise for making their lives better, and they wouldn’t be as ugly-looking. He sent Hermes to tell Poseidon that he would help the humans. …show more content…
In a few seconds, he was out of Olympus, and near the sea. He flew over the salty sea, dodging the blue-green waves that come to the beach as foam. Large billows kept rising from the sea. He was so fast that he was already in the middle of the ocean. And when he finally spotted Poseidon's temple, he dived into the ocean water. Everything in the ocean appeared to have a blue-tint, and everything looked majestic, glorious, and exotic, and it could be fit for the king of kings. Hermes glided down deep into the water. The entrance to the underwater-temple had a prismarine arch, with stone tridents on each side, and you could see aqua-blue crystals lined on the walls to make a pattern. Hermes glided into the enormous

Agency from the Gods Perspective In an argument that Hera and Zeus come to have over the war and destruction of some cities of the mortal world (4.35-85), leads to a question of the extent to which humans and gods have control. Zeus the most powerful god has a special set of abilities that are unique to him when it comes to controlling the forces surrounding him, however gods such as Hera display humanlike agency. Hera thinks about her actions, consequences, and then uses her wit to get tasks done which are particular characteristics of humans, not gods. You may think that Zeus with all the power he possesses that he may have ultimate agency but in reality he has humanlike agency just like Hera.
Once Zeus was fully grown he returned to his father’s realm and with the help of his mother, hoodwinked Cronus to drink an emetic that made him disgorge his children (Leadbetter). It was these children: Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera and Demeter who helped Zeus wage the Titan war against Cronus. The women titans refused to help Cronus defeat the Olympians and even a few male titans helped aid the Olympians. After ten years of battles, the Olympians were able to banish the Titans into the Underworld (Titanomachy). It was after this war that Zeus seized the throne and divided the sky, the underworld, and the sea amongst him and his brothers. (Hades: the underworld, Poseidon: the sea, and Zeus: the sky.)
Both Athena and Poseidon are gods, and both are under the rule of Zeus, however they are very different in the way they have interactions with Odysseus. Athena, the gray-eyed goddess help Odysseus on his journey, and also helps Penelpoe and Telemachus with their personal struggles. Poseidon, on the other hand has a grudge against Odysseus for maiming his offspring, the Cyclops. When Odysseus revealed his real name to the Cyclops, the Cyclops called upon Poseidon to curse him and make his journey even harder. In a way, it is like Athena and Poseidon are battling against each others' will. Athena is trying to make sure Odysseus makes it home safe, while Poseidon is trying to make his homeward journey as difficult as possible.
In ancient times around 800 B.C. a civilization arose that would become a great power called Greece. Poseidon was important to these people because the myth of Poseidon explained all the things that happened to the Greeks at sea so they could attain a greater knowledge of everything else and now have a form of religion which would cause a spark of order and unity. Poseidon also stood as one of the most powerful major gods. He is connected to our lives today through popular culture and literacy. Poseidon also stands as an example of power that could represent law enforcement or our military/homeland security.
Poseidon intervened with odysseus's life by stopping him from getting home but only because odysseus was bragging about doing everything at troy without the help of the gods and poseidon told odysseus to beware and set many obstacles for odysseus and his men eventually landing him stuck on Calypso's island

One day while tending Poseidon’s hippocampi, the cyclops were approached by Aphrodite. She instructed them to give Poseidon the nectar and then tell him to seek her immediately, and they did, for they could not resist the soft voice and beauty of Aphrodite. Once given the nectar and instructions, Poseidon created a tsunami and rode it to Mount Olympus. Once Poseidon arrived he was immediately met by the vengeful goddess. Aphrodite whispered in Poseidon’s ear, “Take Eelos’ beauty and make it mine, for if you do, I will be yours.” The nectar coursing through him, making him very suggestive, Poseidon went away immediately and did as told. He dipped his trident in the blood of the slain serpent Python, then in the sea. Poseidon found Eelos and took him by wrist and led him down to the sea, where he stabbed Eelos with the laced trident. Eelos shrieked in agony as his beauty was being taken from him and he was becoming a sea serpent. The instant the deed was done, Poseidon broke free from Aphrodite’s charm and realized what he had done. He fled to Zeus, the watchful god, and told him of the treason
Cronus was worried that he was going to be overthrown by his kids so he ate all of them except for Zeus who had been hidden away. Zeus ended up fighting Cronus and the other Titans beating
Many years ago, there was a clash between Zeus and Poseidon. Poseidon felt jealous of his brother, for Poseidon always tried to provide calm waters for the fishermen of a tiny village, allowing them to feed their families. However, the fishermen praised Zeus for providing calm winds to be able to sail by, enabling them to catch fish. In their ignorance, they didn’t see Poseidon’s hard work filling their nets with fish and calm waters and neglected him and his temples. All along, however, the temples to Zeus would fill with worshippers, and feasts were held in his Zeus’s honor, while Poseidon’s temples continued to fall into disrepair. Many
In the Titans and Olympians war, Atlas had taken Cronus’s side on the Titans against Zeus. Atlas had taken over leading the Titans due to Cronus’s infirmity of old age. Zeus had gotten irritated over the ten year long battle with no advancement to either side. Like the cheater Zeus is, he went down to Tartarus, killed the creature that was protecting what he wanted, snatched up the Giants and Cyclopses, and used them in battle. The Cyclopses had given Zeus the ability to use thunder and lightning as a weapon in return of their freedom.
Zeus demanded Athena to come to the underworld with them and Hermes provided them with his winged sandals for any unexpected consequences. Zeus, Poseidon, and Athena crept through the underworld and stopped in their tracks when they heard a monstrous noise. It was Cronus, their vicious, arrogant and selfish father who couldn’t see anyone’s good. Hades stood still looking terrified and full of regret. “I’ve never thought I’d see you two together again brothers.” He spoke to Zeus and

Zeus was known for a number of things, but his love affairs was one of the numerous things he was famous for. Zeus was the king of all the gods, he was known for the god of the skies, weather, fate and laws. Out of all of his lovers he had over the years, his first was known as Aphrodite. She was the goddess of beauty and was followed by Zeus when she first emerged from the great sea, but she managed to escape him. It did not take much time for Zeus’ wife Hera to realize that their marriage was falling into the deep end. Zeus had a deep lust which then made Hera’s jealousy fester. (Summary 1).
