This has been such a positive learning experience for me. I completely enjoyed watching, listening, and participating in this educational event. To observe an adult learner class following the Felician code of honor was rewarding. The relationship between instructor/student is one of respect and I did notice the level was encouraging. I did have a period of déjà vu, hearing the material of nursing research. This complex course is a major part of nursing, being able to read an article and understand what the author is thinking is complex. I noticed the class was engaged and appeared eager to understand by asking questions. When the students was asking questions, and talking about the given topic, it is because they were interested
The theories relating to the motivational methods and techniques I have chosen to reinforce the information are the two-factor and expectancy theory. The two-factor theory was developed by Frederick Herzberg’s and falls under two categories the satisfier and hygiene factors. The two are linked and are identified as being turned

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate my experiential learning of personal and social adjustments when confronted with life-changing events and the mechanisms utilized to effectively cope from traumatic experiences. The components supporting this piece include: confronting the problem, learning to adapt and cope, cultivating self-worth, the importance of a support system and over time change influencers. To support my understanding of personal and social adjustments, I will use the content of this paper to speak as evidence of my experiential learning derived from confronting a long-term spiritual abuse situation and process of unraveling and coping from its affects.
This paper will explain the reasons that I want to obtain a college degree at Columbia Southern University and how I will make that happen. It will be a difficult task to accomplish but I believe that it can be done.By putting in the work and staying motivated to accomplish this goal I will be successful.
One aspect that will be discussed in this particular Eco-map will be the positive reinforcement that is received from being a father. The psychology characteristics are positive and emotionally solid. Dennis Jr. is his name and we have an outstanding relationship. Therefore, my thoughts toward my son are nothing less than love and satisfaction. Brianna Smith is my wife, we currently are not living together. The psychological stand point for this family member would be emotionally distressed. We have communication issues which leads to a negative thought process. Furthermore, we still have a relationship and will continue to work hard at being great parents. In addition, my daughter is six months old and we have a bonding relationship.
The student must not be scared in their educational environment and be able to voice their opinions. For instance, if a question or confusion arises during a lesson, the student must ask for clarification for their own understanding on the topic. Likewise, the student must also take action if they are struggling in school because it is their responsibility to ensure that they understand the material that is covered in their classes. In addition to asking questions and seeking help, communications between students is essential to maximize the learning experience. It is not rare for a student to pose a different interpretation on a topic because each and every individual has their own unique perspective, and that is why it is important for all students to communicate about their own ideas. As a result of the different ideas, it can enlighten other students and that is the formula to successful thinking. Furthermore, this opportunity can ignite a passion for the students. Communication is a practical skill that is necessary for a successful future in society. While active participation can be beneficial to one student, some people can argue that it is disrupting the classroom learning and it can be detrimental to other students. In certain cases, that may be true, but more than likely the question being asked is a question that multiple students have but are too shy to ask for themselves. To engage
The overall purpose of this Instructional Design project is to identify how dogs can help to enrich the lives of those who are disabled by subsequently being rescued from destruction. “The instructional design process begins with the identification of a problem or need and determine the appropriate intervention” (Morris, 2013). The urgent need for finding new homes has been identified among Canine Rescue Groups.
Based off sheer size of my classes, prior to looking at the data, I determined that I wanted my student intervention to take place with a group in my sixth period B-day class. My sixth period is one of my largest (if not the largest) class that I have, and with that being said, many of the students are unable to get the individualized attention that they need. The students I targeted were specifically chosen because they are some of the lowest students in my class. The Intensive Reading course has twenty-eight students, on a good day, and every student struggles with the fundamentals of reading. A majority of the students are 10th graders and a few of the students are repeating either the grade level or just the class itself. In my specific student intervention group, I will have five students, four of which are classified as 10th grade and one of which is classified as 9th grade. Three of the students are African-American, one of the students is Caucasian, and one of the students is Multi-Racial. One of the students in the small group does have a 504 plan and another student has an IEP both of which request for accommodations such as extra time, copies of notes, peer assistance, and encouragement throughout all lessons. All of the students chosen are also suppose to work with a reading interventionist, but considering that is not always an option, my student intervention plan is to act in substitution of, and in addition to, the help they are already receiving.
Encouraging behavior is a way for an organization to get the public to do something, Discouraging behavior is a way for an organization to get the public to stop doing something or prevent them from doing something. An example of discouraging behavior is the MADD organization. They are a group who wishes to inform the public on the dangers of drunk driving and driving while under the influence of drugs in hopes to stop it from happening. When trying to discourage behavior an organization might wish to send out press releases, ,make PSAs, or try to get news media coverage. This attempts to show the public the dangers that these behaviors have on themselves or on others and hopefully is enough to discourage this behavior by the public. Sentimental
I observed that the students were very concentrated on following this strategy, and show that they engaged. When the teacher asked them question, they promptly answered based on this strategies. I didn’t hear any voice or noise. They knew what to do.
Everyone remembers Einstein for his discoveries in the field of physics, Mother Teresa of her generous deeds and missionary work for others, and the Wrights Brothers for being aviation pioneers. Everybody wants their community to remember their positive influence they had, whether it be from their attitude, their contributions, or simply by the kind of person they were. It is my hope that I am remembered by my community for being kind to others and for my positive involvement.
Professional development has been described as “ongoing learning opportunities available to teachers and other education personnel through their schools and districts.” (Editorial Projects in Education Research Center, 2011) It is a concept that is very common in the field of education. Some educators participate in it for continuing education requirements, some because it is mandated my administration, and others on a voluntarily basis to enhance their instruction and keep abreast of new best practices. Whatever reason educators have for engaging in professional development opportunities, it is a necessary part of any efforts to improve or reform a school. Connecting with a group of doctoral students for the first residency is very frightening. Several students admitted to having feelings of misperception, worry, or uncertainty. Meeting someone new is certainly not comfortable, however the expectations and anxiety of a doctoral program is sufficient for someone to ask why one would choose to undertake a huge venture. This residency has motivated me to endure in my program. There were several eye-openers that revealed development and improvement as a doctoral student. In the last five days, various lessons and experiences were taught and learned but the most important
My expectations are to observe an adult learning situation here at Felician University. Having the opportunity to attend a lecture, not being the instructor or the student will be a positive learning experience. However, I will be gaining the information that is being given about the course, nursing research. I hope to visualize the response of both instructor and student and use it in my future lessons. I will attend the class with an open mind hoping, to absorb any portions of the nursing research lecture information to my scholar advantage. I also anticipated observing Dr. Correia practice different methods of teaching nursing research. To decipher what style of teaching this professor will incorporate in the lesson plan. This is a difficult
While observing the students in my classroom, I focused on how engaging and motivated they were. The eighth graders at Pine Forest did not have a good seventh grade math teacher, so the students are very behind. They know that they are behind because Mrs. McLamb tells them all the time. Instead of it discouraging them, it motivated the students to want to learn. They know that they must catch up, so I saw the students trying their best to stay focused and be engaged. I noticed while observing that a majority of the class was engaged. I honestly was not expecting this in a math class at 7:30 in the morning. The first day I got there, one student said they had the best math scores in the entire county. So, Mrs. McLamb pulled the up the previous test scores and showed them they were third. I could tell the kids did not want to be third and wanted to be first. They found a reason to learn, and I think that is very important. I did notice that students were not taking notes. I found this odd because it was obvious that they wanted to learn but they never took any notes.
