The issue in my community that needs to get fixed would be potholes and cracks in the road. Potholes and cracks can cause many different things that harm people, cars and animals. I think that more than anything cars and bikes are more effected by potholes and cracks. Potholes and cracks in the road cause damage to cars and bikes because of the tire puncture from hitting potholes or the cracks in the road. It can cause wear on your tires from riding on them all the time. The rims on your tires can even get damaged because of how deep the pothole is or the width of it could scratch the rims. Potholes and cracks in the road cause suspension damage including broken components in the car or on a bike like the break line on the bike on a car …show more content…
For people on their bikes that don’t see it in time or it just blends in a lot they can fly of their seat over the handle bars hitting the ground even sliding on the ground causing road rash and broke bones even more injuries. Animals can get hurt from potholes because if their running from the woods or a field they don’t see it or know what it is. They would put their foot into the pothole breaking or spraining their ankle, foot or their leg. With animals they can fall hitting their face cause more broken bones and even death of they hit the ground really hard it could break a bone and stab them in the head or heart even a major vein or something like that. Potholes and the cracks in the road cause car accidents. When a vehicle goes over a big enough pothole it might not be able to handle it. This would be sudden and unexpected impact it would cause the driver to lose control over the vehicle causing a car accident which could lead to serious injury. The most serious accidents caused by potholes would be motorcycles. This is because motorcycles are less weight then cars or trucks. They also only have two wheels on the ground causes it to lose control even fast then a car or truck. Motorcycle can cause more serious injury even
Inexperience: Inexperience can cause accidents because people don’t know what they are doing and therefore can panic and cause collisions or can drive too fast for their skill level and cause collisions in that way. The worst thing people can do is drive to slow for example if someone is driving to slow they could merge into a roadway driving to slow and be rear ended. There have been many occurrences of people driving with inexperience and causing collision due to it. The easiest way to reduce collisions caused by inexperienced drivers is to have them start on a private road and a parking lot until they are comfortable in the vehicle then having them start driving in different conditions until they are
The faster you drive, the larger the force of impact your car has. This being said, if you were going 60 mph and you crashed into a object, the force of impact would be sudden and jerking. You would definitely feel the impact and are more likely to be injured. However, if you were going 10 mph and you crashed into an object, the force of impact would still be evident, but you would be less likely to be jerked roughly and injured. If you were in a small compact car going 45 mph and are hit by a semi, your injuries are likely to be catastrophic and the driver of the semi’s injuries are likely going to be minor.
According to Firestone Complete Auto Care, potholes can puncture tires, cause wear on shocks and struts, and also damage your engine. I have been a key witness to these effects since I have been in Houston, and it is beginning to get costly and upsetting. When I went to National Tire and Battery to get an estimate on how much it would cost to get my shocks, struts, and alignment fixed the mechanic said it would cost around 2,000 dollars to repair the damages. To be honest, I don’t have 2,000 dollars laying around to get my car fixed and because of this my mother had to drive all the way from Fort Worth, Texas to bring me their car while mines is being fixed. With doing this, my parents and I are in a financial bond right now and are struggling to get around comfortably and efficiently. Therefore, the pothole crisis plays a key role in where my money is going to and how much I am spending due to
You will likely end up getting hit by road debris when you have a gaping hole that is not fixed soon enough on your windshield. A lot of people often forget the reason why windshields are installed on their vehicles in the first place- and that is to protect the driver and the passengers from all those flying debris that are likely present when one is driving on the road. When the windshield is broken and you still drive the car around, you will likely end up getting hit by flying insects and other debris that may be quite dangerous especially when they hit you at such high
The condition of our roads the past couple summers has been pretty poor. Many of the main streets are filled with large pot holes and loose
Question- Identify one area of need, and describe how you would address this need in a community setting. Be as specific as
A problem that needs to be addressed now is terrorism. Specifically, over the last few years a terrorist group known as ISIS has claimed responsibility for many terror attacks all over the United States. They are also responsible for some more overseas. There have been a few all over the country of
After running scientific experiments, scientists have concluded that about 50% of these potholes lead to various points in time, space, and dimension. For months, scienctists had no clue why. That until now.
For a crash to be catastrophic different factors need to be applied. The first is kinetic energy, if two cars crashed and they both were going at high speeds their kinetic energy would be very high causing the accident to be catastrophic. Also if the drivers were not wearing any seatbelts there would be no inertia stopping them. The last law is gravity, if a small car was driving at normal speed and crashed against another car the injury would be minor because the kinetic energy is not high and the masses either.
Sinkholes are pits in the ground that form where water gathers with no drainage. The water weakens the ground under the surface and any weight on the affected area will collapse the ground.
There are virtually no instances of instant potholes. Instead, they are almost always the result of past damages that the pavement has incurred. Specifically, water has penetrated beneath the pavement through cracks that were not repaired. The water has damaged the pavement's foundation, so the pavement begins to sag under its own weight. When the winter storm hit, the water froze and expanded, causing additional deterioration of the pavement. Once the trapped water thawed, the base suffered additional damage and more sagging occurred. The result was a pothole that seemed to appear overnight.
Punctures: When you look at a tire and touch it, they feel as though they are durable and nothing can damage them. Tires are strong, but they may not always be able to resist damage, like punctures. There's tree branches, metal and other debris
I thing that the most pressing issue for our enviornment in North Americe, is the pollution of our air and water. I believe this is the biggest issue because it effects everyone, and everyone should care. Some people may not care how many trees we cut down, or the fact that their fruits and veggitables are all geneticly modified and are coverd in pestisides. And if they dont care about our air and water now, they deffinately will when it staarts to make them sick, or they have to wear and face mask covering their mouth and nose in order to breathe outside without getting completed contaminated. Or when they start drinking unfiltered water, and chugging down loads of floride, and start to notice themselvees getting less healthy. I believe that this is an increasing issue as more, and more factories are being built, more cars are
Sinkholes are holes in the ground that form when water erodes an underlying rock layer. According to the United States Geological Survey, about 20 percent of U.S. land is susceptible to sinkholes. The most damage from sinkholes tends to occur in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. Sinkholes are particularly common in these areas due to the susceptibility of the land. Certain rocks, known as evaporites (salt, gypsum, and anhydrite) and carbonates (limestone and dolomite) dissolve in water and are most present in the southeastern coast of the United States.
Third reason of accidents on the road is teenage drivers. “2,739 teenagers died in car accidents in the United States during 2008 ", (drivesteady.com). Some teenagers cause fatal accidents, because of immaturity and lack of experience. Teenagers are very impulsive. Although not intending to hurt anyone, they sometimes drive very aggressively. It is not difficult to find teenagers driving with one hand on the steering wheel, seat pushed back, and with loud music playing. In traffic they go wild, trying to seek attention. They underestimate the risk of what they are doing. All these acts result in serious consequences on the road. Many accidents of young drivers result from their own mistakes.
