Nestlé underwent a second –order change according to the case. Nestlé did a transformational change. It continued in the corresponding network of what the organization had already but, the focal point was, how to revitalization itself so that it can progress more adequately. For example, Nestlé only sold their products through sales agents to countries outside of its home market. They changed the approach to worldwide expansion so that they can buy from local subsidiaries in foreign networks. 3. What implications for change managers would apply specifically to Nestlé? Outline how the Nestlé management team may have reacted to each implication. Nestlé was required to acknowledge an aggressive structure that was created especially for managing. The managers should be crystal clear about what they want and what they expect of their employees, be responsible and concentrate on how to have trust among upper level employees and lower level employees. Managers concentrated on improving the strong points and culture they had within the organization. For example, they enhanced their technology and not just get a whole new system. If employees see managers maintain the organization structure before, through and after a change, then the employees will be willing to accept the change and do what they can to make the change work for the better.

4. Find three examples of lessons from the front line that are evident in the Nestlé case. How could these issues be overcome? One example is when Nestlé transformed from Switzerland to the United States. It accumulated many new industries during World War I, which showed that they were able to handle changes that were happening outside the organization. Another example is bringing in L’Oréal cosmetic and Alcon Laboratories Inc. With both of these new manufacturing companies, managers had to acquire new information so that they are able to be differential and remain ahead of the marketplace because L’Oréal
