Argumentative Essay on Pros and Cons of Abortion
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born. People who think it is bad say that the fetus is something alive, a human being who is partly formed and to do abortion is to kill it and commit murder. The people who think it is ok say that it is not murder until and unless the child is born. I think that abortion has to be seen about which stage the fetus is in. If it is in the very early stage, then it is not murder. But if it has already developed into a larger fetus, it can be considered as murder.
There are other times when abortion is also fine. For example if there is a complication in pregnancy and the mother can suffer because of the child, I think it is ok to do abortion. It is important to understand the various ideas that go behind abortion. The right of an abortion for a mother should be left on her own decision as the mother knows best about her condition. She is going to be the 'host body' for the baby, even though her own, for nine months and according to Thompson, the mother should have the right to decide if she wants to foster and go through with the ordeal.
Abortion should not be considered as murder in the early stage, which is the first ten to twelve weeks. Scientific research has proven that even though the fetus starts to develop a face, arms, legs, etc by the tenth week, it does not have a consciousness and it does not constitute as a human being. There have been many arguments over what is right about abortion and what is not. The Pro-Life activists claim that it is an absolute crime to have an abortion at any stage of pregnancy while some of the extreme pro-abortionists believe that the mother should have the right to kill her baby even a week before full birth. These two extremes form the continuum over which all the debate has been made over the past few years over the topic of abortions and no
Abortion is one of those heavy topics that either side can be right or wrong. Abortion mostly gets divided into two sides; Pro-Life or Pro-choice. On the side of Pro- life a person believes that the government has an obligation to preserve all human life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of life concerns. On the side pro-choice a person believes that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of others. (Head)
Abortion has been one of the most popular and argumentative topics that has still yet to be settled. Ultimately the question we can ask when trying to solve this issue is whether or not pregnant women should have the right to kill an unborn baby. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth takes place and is a moral wrong. Can we as a society call ourselves human if we allow the deaths of unborn babies to take place? Those who take the side of pro-choice or as also known as pro-abortion often use statements concerning life, humanity, human rights and freedom to support their claims. I believe abortion should be illegal because we as a society must protect the human lives that are in danger whether or not they are in their first
Abortion is murder at any stage of pregnancy, and acts against U.S. constitution. Furthermore not only does abortion harm innocent babies, but also raises the risk of medical complications for the mother.
Every individual defines pain differently, so “without interrogation, we cannot know for sure what the fetus feels” (British Medical Journal). As we know, asking a fetus if it feels pain is impossible, and assuming that they do could be wrong. Considering these statements, abortion cannot technically be called murder. Fetuses are not self-aware, rational, or attentive like humans. From a religious standpoint, I understand why people consider abortion murder. A fetus has the potential for life, and that they consider that potential life a real life. However, stretching this idea farther, sperm also have the potential for life, but many of these people are not against sex or masturbation. Fertilization has not yet occurred, but the potential is still there. According to scientific evidence, a fetus has a fifty to seventy percent chance of becoming a feasible human being. These chances are relatively high, but not a guarantee, and not yet a life. One cannot kill something that is not yet alive.
Abortion has been the topic of controversy for ages. Most of those who are opposed are religious and view abortion as a sin. Those who are in support of it say that women deserve to make their own choices and that the fetus isn’t even a human being. Viewing it without allowing religion to cloud judgement, abortion is still wrong. There are many arguments supporting both sides of abortion. That still leaves the question, “Is abortion murder?”
Abortion is a very touchy subject in our society. In the U.S. it is legal to abort a fetus up until the twenty fourth week. An abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth, which results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Many people consider abortion as cruel as murder. Although some say abortion is in there own hands and is there own decision, others believe that no one but God has the right to take someone else 's life. People that support abortion do not consider an unborn fetus a person who must be protected under the law. Which makes an issue like abortion, difficult in determining if it is right or wrong in someone 's opinion.
“How can the “Dream” survive if we murder children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate” (Martin Luther King, Jr). This quote, by Martin Luther King Jr, represents how Martin Luther King Jr really feels about abortions, and how abortions relate back to the idea of slavery. As abortions are spreading all across the world many people have wondered if there are any positives to abortions? If there are not any positives to abortion then people may wonder, what are the negatives to abortions, and how do other people feel about abortions.
Abortion is a subject that numerous people have strong opinions about; some believe that it is a form of murder and should be banned, yet others believe that the decision should be for the woman herself to make. In my eyes, the choice to abort or not abort is the woman’s, not the public’s. However, many men disagree with pro-choice.
Abortion is a very controversial topic in today’s society. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks (Abortion). Many people have issues regarding this topic, while some support the idea. This paper will be covering the pros and cons, people’s attitudes, and how a researcher could possible change your perspective on the topic at hand.
I hold the belief that a woman should have the right to have an abortion if that is what she would like. This means I identify as a pro-choice supporter. If the government ever decide to illegalize abortion, it would mean that women do not 'own' their body and instead the lawmakers do. As soon as a third party, such as lawmakers, are given the power to decide that abortions are wrong and they decide to ban abortions, women are no longer in control of their own bodies which makes them powerless.
In 1973, there was an abortion case in the Supreme Court called Roe vs. Wade. The case made abortion legal. Since that day, abortion has become one of the most highly debated topics in our nation. A big question about abortion is if it is murder. Many people say that it isn’t murder because you are killing the fetus, the unborn offspring of a mother, but even when a baby is in its mother’s womb, it has a breath. According to the American Heritage High School dictionary, murder is the act of putting an end to, or destroying a life, which is exactly what abortion is. Although being a parent is very hard, abortion is murder, mentally stressful, and it disregards the gift of life.
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics and many argue that it's wrong, but I disagree, I am a strong supporter of abortions. An abortion is when a woman deliberately terminates a pregnancy, there are many medical methods used to perform an abortion. The techniques used for abortion have changed drastically over time and many cultures developed their own forms of abortions. Originally abortions were unregulated and many women performed abortions on themselves at home, which were very unsafe and many at home abortions resulted in injury or death. The two main methods of abortion as of right now are surgical and medical abortion, these are much safer than previous methods and rarely inflict any harm onto the woman. The surgical method is performed using a vacuum like device to empty the uterus of its content. The medical abortion can only be used early in a pregnancy and requires a woman to take a prescribed pill for the first seven weeks of her pregnancy.
Abortion has been a very controversial issue in the United States for the past several decades. Many people think that is it morally wrong. To say that something is morally wrong is an opinion. Since everyone’s opinions are different on this topic there have been many court cases and protests against abortion. However there are a lot of people out there that believe that abortion is a rightful decision. My personal opinion on the abortion controversy is that every woman should have the choice on whether or not they are ready or are capable of raising a baby. Although there are many different choices one can make with regard to whether or not they are ready to raise a child, like adoption, it is still ultimately the woman’s decision on what they want to do. Carrying a child is a very stressful and sometimes painful process. There are a lot of financial decisions, health decisions, and future decisions that have to be carefully thought out before becoming a parent. Parenthood is a life-altering step one must take in life, and abortion is one way that a women can postpone or avoid changing their life in a very extreme way.
Killing a fetus is the same as murdering a stranger on the street. Central to the morality debate is the issue of when life begins. However, our science is technologically advanced and proves that abortion is murder. According to ("lifesitnews.com"),”Unborn human beings are living, separate, and unique, from the moment of fertilization – better known as conception – a new human life is in existence.” You are not aborting your problems, you’re aborting a life. Once, again abortion can be considered either a simple medical procedure or the murder of an innocent life.
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy that is often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. As life begins at conception, unborn babies are human beings and thus have the right to life. The federal Unborn Victim Of Violence Act that was made to protect unborn babies from murder states that anybody intentionally killing an unborn baby should be punished for killing a human being. Abortion is a murder because it is taking away someone’s life. Even though the baby isn’t born yet, the fetus in the mother’s womb still feels pain while being aborted. No person, not even a mother, has the right to hurt someone. To keep a child, who can’t even speak, from growing and from living is a murder.
