Testing products on animals are ways that humans do research. It tests whether or not the ingredients will have bad reactions on skin. Consequently, this is a danger for animals that are being kept in captivity and being tortured for human advancement. The cons of this animal abuse are the animals always end up dying or are very close to it, animal testing is cruel and inhumane, and it is very expensive to keep getting animals to kill.
Animals are constantly being tested on a hurt for human use and safety. One way of abuse is that companies such as Covergirl and Mac Cosmetics put their products that could be very dangerous onto animals skin. Another is that they inject liquids into its eyes to make sure it would not make humans go blind.
While the pros to animal research are positives on humans, it is negatively affecting the animals themselves. Using animals for medical research is inhumane because they are left in these awful conditions. These animals are being mistreated in captivity because humans need them for their own research. The animals used in these experiments are treated very poorly because, they are subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, deprived of food and water, excessive physical restraint, and may acquire infections and other wounds while in captivity (“Animal Testing”, 2017). Animals like these are burned, choked by CO2 and even left days without food or water. Sometimes we just test to see what the LD50 is for these animals, over 97,000 animals were killed just testing to find the LD50 from these animals. The LD50 is just a test to find out how much of one substance will kill 50% of the population. These animals are harmed for no reason because, most of the time it does not even help humans.
Animals lose their lives in a horrible way so that we can have useless things like makeup. A lot more brands use animals testing then society would think. By law before releasing a new medication it has to be tested many times on different animals first. One reason animal testing is horrible because it hurts them for not good reasons when there is more efficient ways to test products. (“Animal testing is a bad science”)
Animal Testing is a enormous upset in the word today. Animal activist have been trying to put an end to it for years , but to no avail. Animal testing is when scientist will use animals to do experiments on . They will either hook heavy machinery to these poor defenseless animals or inject them with harsh chemicals just to see if its okay for human use. Over 26 millions of animals are used every year in just the united states alone for these cruel acts by the hand of man. Testing on animals have increased the development of many of life-saving treatments for both human and animals , but at what cost. Its said that 100 million animals die every year .
“Each year almost 100 million animals are killed due to animal testing” (woods 6). Animal testing is when animals are tested on to make sure products are safe but sometimes can be harmful to the animals. Animal testing all started with the theory of evolution. More than half of the products in shopping stores are tested on animals. There are some people who consider animal testing to be a pro because it helps them and others. There are even people who are truly against animal testing and will work their hardest to stop animal testing. Although animal testing Helps Both animals and humans it is not safe and it has side effects that are very dangerous and can hurt animals.
Thalidomide is a medicine that is used for nausea. Many women who used it did not know that they were pregnant. Once they gave birth, they realized their child was severely deformed and ask how that could be? Scientists gave Thalidomide to pregnant rabbits and also gave birth
Animal Testing is the process of experimentation involving using products on non-human animals and recording the reaction on the animal in order to see the effects of a product. Each year over 100 million innocent animals are killed for animal testing. Usually products used on animals will have negative effects that will result in painful effects for the animals. Animal testing is a great advance in medical technology, but hurts the animals that are being tested. Products that are tested on animals could include cosmetics, skincare, cleaning supplies, and household items. Companies feel the need to test on animals to see the reaction on them and determine what could happen when the consumer uses uses the product. All of these animals being
Cosmetic testing is possibly the most trivial excuse for animal testing, animals are restrained in order to pour products into their eyes, often permanently damaging them. Products are applied to the animal's’ skin to test its hypoallergenic properties or acidity. And experimental BOTOX injections are administered, which can even leave animals with permanent paralysis of the muscle it is injected into.
Around 100,000 to 200,000 animals are suffering and dying from makeup testing yearly OR In 2013, India abolished mandatory cosmetics testing on animals. There are places such as Israel, India and the European Union which have banned cosmetics testing on animals. On the other hand, there are countries like the United States and China that still allow makeup testing on animals. Many organizations and groups are trying to find alternatives to help end cosmetics testing on animals. There have been about 50 non-animal tests that have already been authorized. A wide variety of animals are tested on. Some of the more common animals that are tested on can include mice, rabbits, rats, and guinea pigs. Cosmetics testing on animals is a very
Imagine an innocent little rabbit...who was taken to a dark lab... and had makeup viciously rubbed on their skin...burning like fire. Having their eyes clamped open with no way of freedom with irritating fluids rushing in the rabbit’s eyes blinding them. Why would people be okay with this tiny animal being tortured? Animal experimentation is wrong and cruel to animal species. Medical and cosmetic testing has been done for years and it has been a controversial issue for some time. Some people having been debating whether or not there should be animal testing for past years. As stated by Sally Driscoll and Laura Finley, animal experimentation has been used for beneficial research, but is not worth the lives and abuse of the animals. Sadly, the ProCon organization explains “how over 26 million animals are mistreated each year for both scientific and commercial purposes.” Continuing animal testing is like people smoking cigarettes. It is an issue that is just being ignored and has to be stopped. Animal testing should be banned because it cannot always be accurate, there are other options that can benefit research efficiently, and it can kill and torture animals.
There are currently no strict laws that protect animals from testing. Every year millions of animals die for incomprehensible reasons. Animal testing has been a controversial problem in the United States as well as nationally. For centuries animals have been used as test subjects for medications and products used in daily life. They should not have to suffer in order to have decent medications and beauty products that mean no difference to them. Animal testing can be ended and replaced if this problem is recognized and addressed, companies are penalized, replacement subjects are found, and animal testing is made overall illegal.
In the United States alone, notably around 100 million animals die every year from lab testing, including the larger animals like dogs and cats, along with rodents. With animal testing being on the rise, it is called out for being an unethical form of science. There are scientists and pro animal rights activists constantly on the search to reduce the number of animals involved in animal testing. They are trying to find alternatives to help layout a better blueprint for the science world, even if some alternatives are more profound than others. However, with their search, there are different types of lab testing that are used in an attempt to make animal testing more humane, and trying to pass laws that limit the use of animals in testing,
Generally speaking, if you were to hear, “It's time for you to test a vaccine that may or may not be dangerous or even possibly fatal, for the sake of a different species.” It's understandable that the notion of this may make you feel uncomfortable. Nevertheless, this exact situation is what happens to animals across the world. One charged debate that has taken place for a long period, of time, is whether animal testing has a valid position, within, the field of health and medicine studies. There are two heavily opinionated sides within this conflict. There are those who feel Animal Testing is necessary for the future of medicine, then there are the people who believe that animal testing ( even though, perhaps once had a reasonable stand) no longer serves a purpose in health and medicine, believing animal testing to be ( for many people but not all) morally unacceptable and an outdated practice. Upon reflecting on the arguments brought before both sides of this debate, it can be concluded that animals should no longer be used to test on as it's ineffective and a waste of time.
This book was a really good source for two reasons. I used this source a lot in my paper not just quoting what the author said, but also using the case studies. The case studies helped me a lot because they usually worked as examples of abuse and neglect..The case studies helped me a out because, there was a lot of good ones that talked a lot about what exactly is happening in labs. They talk about a lot of stuff that people don't really know what's going on in the labs. This book also had a few really good quotes that I used. That is why this book was a really good source to use.
Europe, the world’s largest cosmetic market, Israel, and India have already banned animal testing for cosmetics, and the sale or import of newly animal-tested beauty products. Major companies have turned their backs completely on animal testing and no longer use ingredients that were tested on animals – and a number of animal tests have been completely replaced with superior, cheaper and more effective non-animal methods. Proponents of animal testing say that it has enabled the development of many life-saving treatments for both humans and animals, that there is no alternative method for researching a complete living organism, and that strict regulations prevent the mistreatment of animals in laboratories. Opponents of animal testing say
Many humans use animals for testing each year. Animal testing is when the animals are put through something or injected to see how they react to what medical research they have been used for. It's impossible to know exactly how many animals are being used in research because U.S. laws do not require scientists to report how many mice, rats, or birds they use, but it’s estimated that 90% of lab animals are mice and rats. It’s crucial that everyone know why animals should not be used for testing of harmful substances because the testing is trivial especially, when testing for products in the cosmetic industry, animals experience the same feelings as human’s such as, pain or pleasure and testing is cruel and unusual.
