What could have been done the night before? Punctuality is a habit. It’s a matter of creating the routine and sticking with the routine. Punctual people will be winners everywhere and will be one step ahead of the others. Planning ahead will contribute to being punctual, less stress, and the ability to navigate around unforeseen circumstances. This all helps avoid difficult situations as far as time is concerned. This show of respect will also command respect from others. Someone who shows, over and over, that they are the master of their time is someone who will be taken seriously in areas far removed from time management. That foresight and adaptability that gets you where you need to be, when you need to be there, tells the people around you that you can handle whatever is thrown at you.
Scheduling the work day is one of the most important duties any leader in the Army or the Armed Forces for that matter, tackle each and every day. Being at the right place at the right time for any member of the Armed forces is extremely essential to the defense of the entire United States of America. It's because of this that being on time is remarkably important. Dependability, accountability, consistency and discipline are all crucially related to being on time. Furthermore, promptness also shows that the individual Soldier aims high and has their priorities straight. However, being where one
At the same time, being on time may influence substantially interpersonal relations and it is a perfect characteristic of an individual. In this respect it should be said that if a person is late, it is a bit irritating, but if he/she is late regularly, than it is quite a disturbing fact. On the one hand, it proves that this person do not really respect those people who are waiting for him/her. On the other hand, it proves that this person is absolutely irresponsible because being late means that the person is unable to do his/her duties well. In contrast, being on time proves that the person is highly responsible and is ready to fulfill his/her duty without delay.
For example, developing a sensible schedule would make a college student life more bearable. For example, in my schedule, I know what time the bus comes, so I will never miss it and become late for class. I also make time for studying and to complete my assignments. Afterward I try to make some free time for my friends. Basically when a student is making a routine for him/herself it is the same as time management. In my college I take a college success class as it states, “this
The third category on the personality report is conscientiousness. Conscientiousness is defined as a “state of being thorough, careful, or vigilant; it implies a desire to do a task well.”(report) People high on the conscientiousness scale are hard workers and seen to be reliable. Me being a perfectionist and always planning ahead of time for everything in my life; I was placed in the 92nd percentile. I have a routine I follow every day along with a well-organized work area and planner. When I am notified of anything required to be done I will insert it into my planner on a certain date with a time and place for it to be accomplished. While being conscientious is great and helps me out greatly it also hampers my life. I can be viewed as a “compulsive perfectionist”(report) when it comes to certain things. Additionally, I work two jobs and volunteer on campus giving me the label of a “workaholic”.
For example you are told to be at work at 0900 work call, you are supposed to be there at 0850. But, you may ask, how does me not being at 0630 formation on Fort Hood for PT put other people’s lives in danger? Well, it doesn’t. But, making being on time, or even a bit early, a habit can help when you eventually do end up down range and you need to be on time for a mission. Civilians are also expected to be at their right place at the right time. The only difference is being on time is on time in the civilian world. If work is at 10:00 then as long as it’s not 10:01, then you are in the clear. Showing people you can be on time not only shows you have discipline, but you respect for your superior leaders. Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more than likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Nobody wants to depend on a person that can’t even simply show up for a formation that is held every day at the same time and place. In basic accountability and being on time was strongly instilled in us
The importance of being on time shows your reliability. If you show competence and responsibility when you’re entrusted with little, then you will exhibit to you superiors that you can likely to be entrusted with more. While it is absolutely essential to be reliable in the military, consistently showing that reliability every day by being on time, also helps exhibit your fitness for higher ranks and for more responsibility. Being reliable not only demonstrates you have what it takes, but also gives out a good example of being a reliable soldier, and person over all. Out of all things in the military, accountability is arguably one of the most important value a person can have. By always showing up on time you demonstrate that you accept your responsibilities and are willing to hold yourself to task for completion.
Conscientiousness - being disciplined, dedicated and organized. This also means being self disciplined and having goals in life and striving to achieve them.
The importance of being on time is that so you will be early to where ever you need to be, and what ever you need to do. If you are early you will always have time to make sure everything that you need to do is straight and there aren’t n e errors in what you need to do.
Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several reasons. one reason is that if someone is late for a patrol or convoy that patrol or convoy might haveto leave without that person. Another reason is because it will make whoever your relieving have to stay at work for longer than they are supposed to, tired and sluggish because of that fact, giving a high chance that whatever work that person does would be sub par and not up to standards because of lack of sleep. Punctuality also shows your chain of command that you are serious about your job and are ready and motivated to do said job to the best of your ability.

Being punctual is important for numerous reasons, all of which can be applied to both military and civilian life, as well as your work life and social life. I think it is important because it shows that you have respect for others. If someone is consistently late to events it shows others around them that they have little or no respect for others and their time. Time is a valuable thing and it should be viewed as such. If a person has commitments and responsibilities involving others, they should realize that others time is just as important as their own. Someone that is consistently late shows others that they believe their time is more valuable than others. Also by being late a person disrupts all the others involved in the event, which
