Today’s society is shifting drastically especially in the business world the leadership plays a significant role in the business paradigm in scaling the progress of any organization. Our future of management is brighter than we could have expected years ago and it is these versatile leaders’ on today’s management platform who will help take businesses levels across all segments of the globe to higher realms. Every individual is born with a unique identity in this world and leadership differs from one individual to another. But there are certain skills which must be present in every leader in order that he creates a distinguishing figure for himself among his followers. Great leaders are made not born. In order in becoming an effective leader, an individual must be determined and have desire such as a lion. Great leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education (books & audios), training (seminars’), and experience (mentors). To inspire your workers into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things you must be, know, and, do. These virtues do not come naturally, but are acquired through hard work and study. Leadership is the process of influencing individuals or a group of individuals by providing purpose, direction with the support of others, and motivating those individuals with the purpose of accomplishing a certain obligation which is helpful to all individual that is involved.
What is leadership? Leadership by definition is the ability of an individual or organization to guide other individuals, teams, or organizations. Without leadership many would just follow one another's actions like blind sheep. Many of the powerful shifts in American history were started by men and women who made the decision to guide and instruct one another rather than being a follower.

Not everyone has leadership abilities, and those who do, are gifted with an amazing capability: to lead. In the past year I have demonstrated leadership on and off the playing field, whether that be on the track, the baseball field, or the hockey rink.

In modern day business, leadership has become an issue that is given far more attention and investment than ever before. Leadership involves establishing a clear vision, sharing that vision with others so that they will follow willingly, providing the information, knowledge and methods to realise that vision, and coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests of all members and stakeholder. This essay will discuss whether leaders are born not made, with varies of theories being compared and contrasted and the strengths and limitations of leaders itself. Further this essay will analyse the future aspects of theories which would establish whether a leader was born with leadership qualities or made into a successful leader.

A person can’t wake up one day and decide that they want to be a leader. Leaders are not born, but they are shaped through teaching, learning, and observations. Being an effective leader requires a particular set of skills. Anyone can learn these skills needed to become a leader, but not all of them can be effective when it comes to leading others. Parrott (2009) recorded, “In today’s leadership world, our outward appearance is the tally sheet of results we tout to prove our worth, while our thoughts and intentions are buried deep in the longview we bring to leadership” (p. 15). Today, everything centers around quick-fixes, immediate-impacts, and short-views. Being an effective leader is more than giving demands to the people that you work alongside. Throughout this class, I had the opportunity not only to review the skills I need to be a leader but how I can enhance those skills to help make a difference.
First leaders need to model the way. They first should “work on yourself before you work on others. … And more than you work on others” (Kouzer, et al., 2004, p. 42). In summary they suggest working on personal growth before trying to influence changes in others. Being the example first before influencing others is critical before inspiring others to follow. The second quality is to inspire a shared vision. Vision is the driving force for strong leadership. “Leaders envision the future by imagining exacting and ennobling possibilities. What is Leadership? Leadership is the action of guiding others into the ideal direction. Leadership is not a quality given, it is something that you must learn and cherish to be able to experience it. There is no right or wrong definition of leadership; it all depends on the person’s vision of it. To display leadership, one must be unselfish and willing to help, they should be able to mentor, and one should be open-mindedness.
