She was the only child of Edward the duke of Kent and King George III's fourth son, and Victoria Saxe-Sal field-Coburg, sister of Leopold, king of the Belgians, was queen of Great Britain for 63 years. She died in England in 1901.She severed Queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837, and the empress of India from1877 until for death. She was educated by the governess at home. Later in her life when she was still a princess she got locked in the Tower of London by her half sister Mary Tudor. Mary Tudor got jealous of her and that is why she locked up her half sister. But they never really got along. After that Queen Elizabeth was crowned as queen. A few years after that Mary Tudor died (Havelin 7).

Additionally, she tremendously reduced the amount of poverty and raised the literacy rate, or the percentage of people that can write and read, greatly during her reign.
