My Reasons for Running I would like to run for Secretary on Student Council because I think I would be a great experience of leadership and responsibility. If I became secretary I think I would be able to gain a lot of leadership and responsibility. These two skills are very important to me and I would love to grow in them. I was inspired by the representatives to work in a more challenging position. On the first few student council meetings I went to this year I saw the representatives working hard together and I wanted to be a leader like them to someday. I want to fulfill that goal as soon as possible. I would like to be a voice of all student outside of Student Council, so they could always depend on me to make the right choices. If I
I have decided to join the Student Government Association as a senator because I believe my skills, qualifications, experience and even future goals are tailored to this position and through it I can not only help the Stetson community but I can learn from the experience and grow as a person.
During 8th grade at Howard D. McMillan Middle, I believed one person could make a difference if they just set their mind to do so. Our school had many restrictions and few student activities. Early that year I became interested in Student Government (S.G.) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), so I decided to run for President of both clubs hoping to make a change.
For me, the Student Government Association is not just a student organization. I believe that it is a place for enthusiastic students to share their thoughts and give input on the major aspects of USD. While our school is already amazing, there are still things that can improve. Because of my motivation and desire to make USD the best, I want to serve on SGA. SGA would provide me with the tools to help express not only my views, but also my peers as well.
I believe I should be Student Council president because I can lead large crowds such as those during Student Council meetings and at the 8th grade graduation ceremony. I believe this because I am the least shy in front of crowds than my competitors. My next point of why I should be president is because I have participated in more Student Council related activities that the other candidates. I know more people to get student feedback
Throughout my school years, I have always tried to be a positive role model for younger students as well as my peers. This year I decided that the best way to serve my school was to participate in our school’s Student Leadership Council. It has proven to be a fantastic decision for me. I succeeded in getting the most votes out of all of the candidates and have had a great experience taking a leadership role in my school. I feel like I have become a much better leader and role model because of Student Leadership Council. I have been really fortunate to be exposed to the Jeter’s Leaders program, since they come to our school to mentor us as SLC members. It has been an incredible experience, and I would really love to continue with it. As an eighth grader at Saint Augustine, we are required to mentor our younger students. I
I have been attending Anthem Prep for five consecutive years and I am applying the role of Freshman Class Representative. To make it more interesting for our students to get involved, Anthem Prep has been making changes to its student life and topics relating to it. Though our school has made significant progress, I believe the upcoming student government will improve our student body and their lives on campus.
I want my classmates to see me not only as someone they can come to when they need help on homework, but also someone they can come to when they want to make suggestions about what could possibly be changed at school. I understand that the president of the freshman class does not have much say in things but that does not mean I cannot try.
I am currently the Secretary of the Senior Class and the Secretary of the National Honor Society. I have represented my class through Student Council since freshman year, and I was elected as Junior Delegate of the National Honor Society last year. I put multiple hours into both of these activities each week, and I plan to put a lot of effort into the position I am applying for (Entertainment Executive Chair).
My passion for service and leadership has grown through my involvement in FCCLA, Honor Society, and Spirit Club. I would love to expand my leadership skills by working with my fellow peers as a student body officer and grow my love for community service as the service representative.
I would be honored to take the position of being student council president. There are qualities a president of student council should possess that I believe I have.
In the spring of 2014, I had decided to run in the election for student council. To my surprise, I was nominated as sophomore class treasurer and secretary.
I want to be in Student Government because I want to represent Booker T. Washington in the best way I can. At EDS I try my hardest job to do as much as I can for EDS and represent them as much as I can and I want to do that at Booker T. Washington too. I also want to be in it so I can help our community and serve as much as I can. SGA will be very important to me because I want to be as helpful as I can in many different ways. I want to help raise money for the school and show the school what we can do it for the community. If SGA needs to show up to school early or stay after school I will always be there and give 100% if my attention to whatever we have to do. Being in SGA would be so important and fun to
First and foremost, thank you for being here in support of the student government association. I want to thank our amazing dean Edina for encouraging me to run for vice president of SGA. Many people have asked me why I am running for vice president. Would you ask a fifth grader if he is going to go to the 6th grade? No right because they have to keep going to the next level. Ever since I came to the University of Bridgeport, I constantly looked for ways to become more involved and to keep having an impact in the university. Every year, here at the University of Bridgeport I am involved in something new. Whether it's being an OL, President of a Club or even starting a chapter/club which is known as the food recovery network, with the help of my peers. The food recovery network have recovered more than 300 pounds of food that would otherwise have been thrown out.
I want to be in Senior Board because I exemplify a responsible student who understands what my peers want for graduation.
When I started high school, I genuinely knew that I did not want to continue to be that girl who was always quiet and never wanted to be involved or that girl who was always afraid to be spontaneous. Running to be a student council representative built a fear in me that I had never felt before. I was never the "popular" kid in school, and as mentioned before, I did not have very many friends. I knew at this point that all hope was lost. Who was I kidding? Only 20 people would be chosen and no one knows who Claudia is anyway. Or at least, that's what I thought.
