It was September 30th 2015 and I was coming off Active Duty Orders working for the Indiana Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next. When I went to Joint Forces Headquarters to pick up my DD Form 214, I ran into the Sergeant Major that was in charge of Recruiting and Retention for Indiana. I talked to him a little bit and he asked me if I had ever thought about becoming a recruiter. I told him that I have thought about it, but everyone I knew, told me that I couldn’t handle the stress of being a recruiter. Sergeant Major told me that the excuse I gave him should motivate me even more to be a recruiter. I told him that I would sleep on it and call him in the morning. The next morning, I called Sergeant Major and told him that I was ready to accept the challenge and be a RRNCO (Recruiting and Retention Non-Commissioned Officer). I have now been recruiting in the state of Indiana for a little over a year and have been quite successful with making my mission. Throughout this paper, I will discuss different demographics and statistics that I should know as an RRNCO that will help make me a better recruiter and Non-Commissioned Officer. Ever since I have been recruiting, I have realized that it is not easy making my mission, working solely in one high school. I must work in all of my schools as well as work outside of my schools in order to be successful.

The United States draft, also called conscription, was first used during the Civil War but later used in WWI, WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Napoleon was the first general to use the modern draft. In 1940 FDR signed the Training Service Act of 1940 starting the first formal draft in the United States, but in 1973 congress decided to have an all-volunteer military. Every day, there are American citizens who risk their lives for the sake of their country's safety. Men and women who believe that justice, peace, and equality should be served. However, within their beliefs, some choose to exclude transgender individuals who have the same rights and freedoms. The American society considers the world to be progressively changing and growing, however, seem to forget that in order for the military to survive the 21st century, diversity is crucial. Although the medical costs may raise the overall healthcare median per year, transgender individuals should have the right to serve in the U.S. armed forces because any human being who meets the physical qualifications and has a willing attitude should have the right to serve.
The most hardworking people are usually the least recognized. They are generally the least paid as well. There must be some sort of incentive for them to continually work so hard. The United States Army has been the underdogs of the military branch. The United States Army is probably the hardest working branch of the military, but also the least sought after. To the general public they are not considered to be at the top of the spectrum amongst the other branches of military. The government has helped in creating a bias within the branches of military by making the standards to get into the military so low compared to some of the other branches. The Army should be considered the “People’s Army.”
I want to become an Army officer because I long for a career that will provide continual professional development opportunities while pushing me to reach my full potential as a leader, and will also position me to make a positive impact globally. I believe that by becoming an Army officer I can accomplish this because I have seen the success of those that have gone before me. I come from a family of people who have served in our nation’s military, and their lives are a testimony to the renowned individuals that the Army produces.
Military duties, responsibilities and integrity is important to the Army. An NCO duties includes taking care of his or her Soldiers and accomplishing the mission. A Soldier’s duty includes obeying orders. Duty and Responsibility is part of the Army values for a reason. I’m accordance with Army regulation Field Manual 7-22.7 covers the duties,responsibilities and authorities of a Non Commissioned Officer.
How I join the Army National Guard, was kind of crazy My friend name Rico campbell had told me he was about to join the Army National Guard and they were offering a $20,000 sign on bonus. I stated “do you know what we can do with all that money”. We Both went to a recruiter Name SFC (Sergeant First Class ) Tim Thomas he said “ what do you want out of life” both of us promptly replied “ I don't know”. I join The National guard that day but my Friend Rico nevered joined. After I join and Sign all the necessary paperwork SFC Thomas said “You are going to Iqra in may !”. At that time my heart dropped out of my body.
The Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer is, to some, just words that must be uttered during ceremonies and those times when new sergeants earn their stripes. To others, there is no higher thought. These Soldiers live their time while in uniform trying their best to uphold everything written in those three paragraphs. Some choose what those words mean; others make little effort in deciding but let others decide for them. When I entered the service of my country 6 years ago, I had no clue that such a creed existed. My family included wartime veterans; my grandfathers served in korea. And my great Grandfather in world 1. They All served honorably and passed down many stories of both tragic and valorous deeds. An NCO, Non-Commissioned Officer, is better known as the backbone of the Army. They are the ones who are supposed to exhibit exemplary behavior at all times, for all of the junior soldiers. Soldiers, who have not yet reached the rank of NCO, look to the example of these seasoned soldiers. It is extremely important for the NCO to be at the right place, at the right time, and in the right uniform. By performing this type of leadership, an NCO can prove their ability to execute at least one of the many things a soldier is expected to do. All NCOs should be aware that they are always visible to others, not only Officers and Senior NCOs, but also by Junior Soldiers and even civilians. As NCOs we must take pride in ourselves and be the absolute best we can be at all times. Being on time demonstrates a readiness and willingness to work.

On-line recruiting is the process of attracting and hiring applicants for positions within an organization through use of the internet. In this paper I will assess an on-line recruitment service, identify the advantages and disadvantages of this vehicle as a recruiting technique for an organization, evaluate the pros and cons of dealing with virtual resumes, and develop criteria an organization can use for selecting an on-line recruiting service.
