As a teacher it is important to know who you are as a learner because it allows for you to help improve your educational experience and to help increase your knowledge. It also allows for you to open your mind to remembering that every person and every student in unique and how they learn will be completely different from one another. This means that in one class you could have thirty unique learners and it will be your job to make sure that you make each child’s educational experience meaningful to them. The first thing that I did was to take the interest inventory. This questionnaire allowed for me to reflect upon who I am as a learner and how it is connected to my interests. After filling out this questionnaire I realized that I base my liking of content subjects based on how naturally a subject matter comes to me. This means that math, science and physical education were my favorite subjects because they were hands on and easy to catch on to. I also realized that I wish I would have put more time and effort into English class because the more time I put into something the better I become at it. I feel that my writing is my weakest aspect of who I am as a learner. The second self-assessment that I completed was the multiple intelligence assessment. I found that this assessment was the most meaningful for me out of the three. During this self-assessment I was able to quickly answer questions about myself and then reflect at the end about whether or not the outcomes
Through learning about the differences between friends, children can be better prepared for real life. As a teacher, there are challenges when a student has significant learning or behavioural needs, but in many ways, this just keeps a teacher ever vigilant of the need to be a lifelong learner.
Students have their own best way in effectively learning the lesson. With the diversity of students, the problem is each student has a preferred learning style. It becomes undeniably one of the reasons that make it difficult to achieve the best expected outcome out of teachers’ effort. However, teachers try to incorporate various teaching techniques to make every learning opportunity become productive, meaningful, and relevant for the learners.
My aim for today was to make more time for one on one sessions with the residents. This actually ended up working quite well as 5 of the 12 residents in cottage #3 went out for a bus outing from 0930-1100. I came back from my first break and was entirely done all the AM care, including that morning's shower, so I was able to take an hour to file and paint the nails of two residents.
I am a kinetic learner. I have to have something to do even if it's just tapping my foot. I can not sit still unless I'm reading or doing something else. I will always be moving in some way or another. I don't really like most sports like football or baseball. But I do like basketball and street hockey. I always want to do something. And my patience is very low.
It also shows them how to be lifelong learners which enables them to build on their strengths. I will do this by teaching what is relevant and needful for my students. I will teach them to build on their strengths and their talents. In learning about their strengths, they will also learn how to communicate with me and others. These lessons will enable a student to lead a life they will be proud to have and build on.
I have learned a lot about myself by doing the self assessment. I was mostly surprised that I scored higher in discovering self-motivation because most of the time I do not have any motivation to do most things. I set things aside until the very last minute to do almost anything. Also, I am surprised that I scored high in independence, even though I have done activities by myself, I really do not like doing things myself. I always ask someone to go with me somewhere and if they cannot go, I have to actually build up to get myself to go there without a person. Some of my lower scores did not surprise me. I know I do not really believe in myself, I always second guess myself. Additionally, my score for adopting lifelong learning, did not surprise
My results from the self-assessment for both modules two and three are as follows: I am a capable communicator, my problem solving ability is hit or miss, I have a moderate locus of control, I have a little sign of burnout, and I have a low to moderate chance of becoming ill in the future. I was not surprised with the majority of my results however; I believe that my problem solving ability is dependent upon my course of action. I had shared in my first milestone I have chosen to improve myself financially, emotionally, and physically. The assessments completed within both modules two and three can attest why I have chosen to improve myself. I had chosen to build my vocabulary as an aspect of my emotional improvement. It has been quite difficult
After taking the three assessments about my work interest, leisure interest, and the 16 personalities. I learned many things about myself. Majority of assessments are aligned up with each other and said what I expected them to.
Completing a self-assessment made me think about my future and career. I found the self-assessment form useful, because I relized that when a person write the things about his personality or his future plans, he needs to think more about it. Writing something down is more productive than speaking. When a person writes it down, he makes plans in a real way. My self-assessment made me think about my plans, my hobbies, my family, my friends, etc.
Accepting each learner ' unique ability and goals, a teacher can accommodate each student’s individual need to encourage academic goals. Teaching as always been perceived as learning as a reciprocal process. When educators
In the completion of all of these self-assessments I have been left with the idea of who I am as a leader, group member, member of the community, citizen, and as a person in general. I have never before looked at myself in such a way nor have I ever completed such a set of assessments. I was surprised at the accuracy of the self-assessments. It leads me to better understand truly who and how I am. For the most part I was satisfied with the assessments. I believe that overall my self-assessments make up the personality of a good attorney which in the career path I am choosing to take. However, there were some negatives in the assessments such as my issues with listening. I do agree with the assessment but it does let me know that I have
Self-assessments are a journey of understanding and discovery, there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to the results of
My educational experience is one amazing thing I would never forget. My parents gave me an experience of a lifetime that I would never let go and continue to expand. It was a gift of a great education I could have tossed away but instead I took advantage of it and it expanded my intellect and made me more independent. As a young girl my parents always told me, they wanted a great educational experience for me. They said no matter what it took to get me into good schools, to have a great education they will do it. My parents worked very hard to give me the opportunity to be in private school my whole life since pre-school. They always told me to work hard, be bright and be bold. The educational level I had being in private school my whole life was amazing. What was amazing about my education level is that I was able to take all college prep. classes, I took an AP Spanish class, my teachers were always on top of us to hand in work in time, essays in my English class were based on a college level writing. It was amazing because my school expanded my mind more on a college based level.
This paper will reflect on my own professional development and focus on my three targets picked at the beginning of the year from the Training Needs Analysis and Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards. It will critically analyse and reflect on my own professional development and whether I have achieved my set targets and what I plan to do next.
What does this piece reveal about you as a learner? What did you learn about yourself as you worked on this piece?
