Satisfactory Essays

According to lesson 11, in the online context, attachment relationships are fostered by interactions characterized by the 3 R's: responsive, reciprocal, and respectful (Essel, 2013). When a caregiver is being responsive towards an infant, they pay attention and respond appropriately to the infant’s cues. When a caregiver is being reciprocal towards an infant, they are exchanges responses with the infant having a somewhat two-way conversation instead of a one-way conversation. Respect between caregivers and infants are hard to determine but that involves talking and checking on the infants before activities. Therefore, to make this scenario developmentally appropriate, caregivers should not leave infants in any setting for a long period of time.
