1. How I could have more accurately presented the ideas of Ofri and Hochschild: In terms of Ofri, I spent a large portion of my paper describing her book in detail. My error in the description of her work was in suggesting that Ofri deems empathy as a useful tool in satisfying the customer. Ofri explains situations in which doctors struggle to empathize, and situations where being more empathetic would have helped her do better work. However, she does not make the direct statement that it is useful in satisfying the customer. In suggesting this, I stated my own opinion and attributed it to Ofri. 2. Reworked thesis: Both A Managed Heart and What Doctors Feel discuss emotional management in the form of emotional work and emotional labour.

2. Working according to the agreed ways means following the organisation’s policy and procedures in relation to pressure areas. It also means following the individual care plans and respecting the instructions in place. For example making sure a resident is turned every two hours, applying Cavilon cream on areas; fill in turning charts, prompt fluid intake. Under the duty of care a care assistant must always be aware of and raise concerns regarding possible pressure areas. Always record information in care plans accurately and in confidentiality.

Reflecting on this course over this semester, there have been many lessons learned that will be valuable, as we enter the business world. Our first lesson was to learn to work together, as a team, to prepare a short memo, long memo, letter, and email for use in the business world. This is a lesson that will experience many times as we do our daily work. Punctuation and grammar are so important to present to the client and other organizations that we are professionals. It could mean the loss of a sale or acquiring new business. It’s like dressing for work; looking professional or unprofessional.
In his article "Making the Grade," Kurt Wiesenfeld presents a problem regarding the ethical value of grades in modern society. A physics professor, Wiesenfeld opens the article by making the "rookie error" of being in his "office the day after final grades were posted." (paragraph 1) Several students then attempt to influence him to change their grades for the class. What concerns Wiesenfeld is that many of his more recent students consider a grade to be a negotiable commodity rather than accept the grade as an accurate representation of efforts and performance and how much they learned.
