INTRODUCTION
Inventory management is vitally important for any business that sells a physical product. An inventory system must balance having enough inventories on hand to meet the demand of customers while investing as little money as possible in inventory. Perishable products add another dimension of management considerations because they must be cycled through the inventory system more quickly and stored in a way that preserves their value.
This study aims to on how inventory system would be put to use on helping the Lai-Lyns Catering Services, determine the problems it encounters, and find solutions to these problems in order to create an appropriate system that will help the company improve its system.

The system has the following limitations:
* Only processes data and produces information related to the system. * Cannot generate billing statements * Cannot generate financial statistics and forecast
1.6 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Employees
Since customer will be sending data directly to a system administrator, labor of employees will be reduced and manpower can be exerted on other important work.
Clients
With the use of computers and the Internet, reports will be sent and received by clients faster.
Future Researchers / Students
This study will provide future researchers with enough information about inventory system and the process of its development. This study will also serve as a reference material that will guide the students in their System Analysis and Design
To be successful in today’s business environment, an organization must be able to perform certain fundamentals accurately and efficiently. One of these elements is having an effective and efficient Inventory System Management (ISM). ISM enables one to have the knowledge of where his or her inventory is at every step of the way. This allows one to better interact with consumer and make sales. Choosing the right ISM can lead and pave the ground work for future business success and profitability.
In this final paper for Managerial Finance I will attempt to show how the supply chain inventory management method can be affected depending on the situation of the retailer. Studying the control method for problems in inventory, which would include both, excesses in inventory as well as shortages, and hoping to minimize loss.

We will be observing one of the restaurants located in Melbourne, named Papa Goose Restaurant & Bar. The main purpose of this project is to know about the inventory system of this restaurant. The purpose is to look at the issues in the inventory, and to provide them with the best possible solution.
Inventory Management- The entire supermarket must be working closely on inventory management so the perfect amount of inventory is always on hand. As I mentioned before, too little of a product results in loss of sales and unhappy customers, but too much is a waste of resources.
The chart above demonstrates how the system is used (Essentials of Management Information Systems, CH. 6, pp. 209). The computer services and telecommunications cost will be lower with this type of system installed in the organization, which will remove the recurring charges of private lines.
The inventory and production departments also have issues. Currently, inventory is done by the receiving area supervisor confirming the shipping documents against incoming orders by hand. This allows for human error and is not a quick or efficient way to do inventory. The same process is used when production takes items from inventory. The inventory system is only updated once daily when new raw materials arrive and then again once daily from production when the raw material is used. The lack of tracking and checking in a timely manner leaves the organization’s processes at a higher risk of failure.
