Some believe that the easily accessible spread of amateur photography can and has put a strain on the works of professionals. However, with magazines such as National Geographic still in print after over a century, it raises some questions. Though the spread of information, and thus photography, has increased the platforms and need for professional photographers and photojournalists still exists.

On March 26, 2014 I visited a one artist photography exhibition held in the Thomas F. Riley terminal at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California. This exhibition featured photography by Kevin Warn. The type of work on display varied from black and white and color prints to very large prints, 16x20 or larger and smaller 8x10 prints. Most of the photos were printed on canvas and the others did not mention the process that was used. Photographer Kevin Warn is a Wedding and Life Portraiture photographer. His background includes photojournalism, high fashion photography, wedding photography, portraiture, as well as stock photography. He is a locally and internationally published photographer and is a resident of Fullerton, California.
The photograph of John Smith delivers the interaction of light with the surfaces through its reflection, absorption and dispersion. The natural environment within the photograph maximises the qualities of light and surfaces. The sunlight is working effectively to visualise surroundings and almost generates a highly luminous surface. The reflection, absorption and dispersion of light represented within the photograph are derived from scientific background ranging from creation of rainbows to frequency of light waves. These general scientific evidence provides understanding of the interaction of light with surfaces portrayed in the photograph.
The objectives of this lab are to learn how to interpret and depict landforms using air photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps. In geology, maps have many functions. It is essential to be able to read and understand a map (paper or digital) while in the field. Geologic maps contain more information than common highway maps. Features such as faults, folds, rock formation, strike and dip, elevation and a variety of other information can be found, depending on the type of map.
