This week placement is a bit boring. We don’t have much to do, but regardless we had one workshop about Second Career. I helped the other staff that facilitated the workshop in doing it. It was informative as it tells and gives clients what they need to know about it. Also, helped them understand who is eligible for Second Career. At the end of the workshop, clients had group’s discussion about the workshop. I was asked to supervise the group discussions where every members of each group were able to discus among themselves what they learned. Again, I did some work on agency software called CRM. I believed I mentioned about it on my previous journal, but in case you forgot, CRM is software where the agency clients’ information is stored. This
On October 27, 2016, we met to obtain clarification on your work destinations and work performed on the day prior.
1. The first resources that I’ve learned from this course are using the multiple job websites online, we’ve had excellent communication between classmates on how we can benefit from using these sites out and look for specific jobs in our area. This will assist in work as a counselor because it will help in my networking about the city I currently work in and learning about how to make my resume stick out. The second fact that I’ve learned in this course is finding balance in your life so that you can go through the stay focused, during the semester, we had the good discussion about a thing in our life that we enjoy. This all comes down to balance and taking care of ourselves so that we can stay sharp overall. The third fact that I took away from the cause is the process of helping at the veterans in our community; we talked in this course about resources in our society that will assist people that have served in the way. Certain things like VA hospitals and helping them deal with their past trauma. The fourth resource that I took away from this course is learning about the multiple career counseling theories; this will assist in my communication and helping with my client as it relates to their future goals. The fourth fact that I learned from this course is the importance of self-care and making sure every day you are taking good care of yourself to function adequately in general. The fifth fact I took away from this course is how journaling is vital when it comes to
I have thoroughly enjoyed my first placement and feel as though I have learnt a great deal in just 8 weeks. I am happy with the feedback I have received, it corresponds to my own self-reflection and I believe it will help me develop and improve many of my skills.
Reflective writing is evidence of reflective thinking, which is a beneficial learning tool as it allows me to critically think about my personal employability skills. This self-reflection mode of writing allows me to recognise and identify my current skills, strengths, weaknesses, progress and achievements.
What I have learned for the first four weeks of the course has prompted me to initiate new policies in testing administration together with training workshops for teachers in my division. The aims are to work toward better quality test practice: using tests for reflection on students’ progress rather than failing or passing students and improving the present test giving practice in weak areas such as validity, reliability, wash back.
On Friday 12/16/2016 at about 0135 hours, Security Staff was dispatched to the Special Care Unit, ED. room #37 for a code (51D) Disorderly Patient in E.D. Security Officers Miguel Pagan, Corey Rithchie, Omar Alonso, and Supervisor Steven Evans arrived at 0136 hours and met with Patient Care Tech Cathy Negron who was standing just outside of the patient's room. We observed, the patient, Krystal FernandezRivera (DOB: 09/15/65 - FIN #86594670) in her bed inside the room talking to her Nurse, Cindy Rodriguez, who was attempting to get the patient to change into a blue scrub Hospital gown. Nurse Rodriguez walked outside the room and informed us that the patient had been Baker Acted by ER Doctors and she refused to hand over her belongings and changed
Within this reflective journal I intend to analyse my work within the unit BA1b. I started this unit inspired to improve as much as possible.
The week flew by. I felt a day behind almost every day this week. The climate was another difference during the week. I had more time in the classroom than I have had and I felt almost out of place. Our new assistant has taken on my responsibilities within the classroom. Therefore, I am searching for my role in the classroom. I jump in when I see a need or help students catch up their work when they do not finish. However, this week is different because I was not an integral part in the rotations.
On Monday, I was in Ortho and helped with patient charting. On Tuesday, I gave patients the paperwork they had to fill out and got them ready for their mammograms. On Wednesday and Saturday, I stocked bays in the PACU and helped the nurses with anything they needed. On Saturday I also got to see an Ex Lap procedure and on Wednesday, I got to see an anesthesiologist put a block into a patient.
As a coach I think it is very important for my athletes to reflect on their performance after each training session and competition so they can work out what they individually need to work on and what we need to work on as a team. One way that I will allow reflection to occur in my team is through the use of reflective journals. I would ask that the athletes record the feelings and emotions as well as records of team and individual success and failures and also what they would suggest needs improvement. I think that the athletes should use these journals to set themselves goals for the tournament. The reflective journals can be reviewed as a whole team or in a one-on-one situation between the players and myself as the coach.
Individual was open and responsive throughout the counseling session. Individual answered questions asked by the clinician. Aby stated she was feeling fine but kind of tired because she wasn't sleeping well. However, Ind stated she had no depressed feeling during last week. Ind was a little hyper verbal probably because she was very excited about the theatrical activities that she has been involved lately. One of them was like a 5 minutes free topic monologue. Ind shared she felt confident while doing it. Ind disclosed the name of her presentation was "No shame". Aby disclosed she invited her father and stepmom what represents a big step and her openness toward the improvement of their relation. Ind also shared that she was really excited because
“Sometimes you have to look forward, move on and try to forget what happened in the past.”
The therapist met with the client for the individual session. The therapist greeted the client and reviewed the main goal for the individual session for today. The client reported that his mood was good today aeb reporting that he feels better than yesterday as he started to understand the daily schedule and to know why he is here. The client shared that one of his triggers is to think about any future scenario such as thinking about how his parents will react to any misbehavior he could do, or when he asked them to buy for him something he needs, or when he did not pass any quiz how they will talk with him. The client shared that when he feels anxious because of one of these scenarios, he is usually starts to think about smoking Marijuana.
The work offered by Finance closely aligns with my interests and personal attributes. Finance engages in work relating to a wide range of disciplines in which I am interested and pursuing, such as law and economics. Furthermore, I am interested in areas such as policy development and project assistance, which I also believe to be very useful for my future career development.
It has been amazing journey for me to have a class with Prof Milambiling as we always discovered new terms and issues in the field of TESOL. Many times, that I was just amazed with the topic of discussion in each meeting as I always forget that we only have 50 minutes to cover that topic. In this journal, I would like to share my notes about two topics that have inspired me to give more contribution to my work field and these issues were so unfortunate not to be discussed further in the class due to the limitation of time.
