Tricia Walsh Smith, married to Phil Smith, is a woman scorned. After realizing that her husband has a clause in the prenuptial agreement to throw her out with 30 days notice, he decided that he no longer wanted to be with her, and she decided that she would grab her 15 minutes of fame while condoning him and his family via the internet. Apparently they did not have sexual intercourse. She made this clear when she decided to post a video on YouTube, outlining excruciating details to the public about their personal life. Tricia Walsh Smith is acting about as mature as my ex-fiancé. He is a male, and she is a female, but other than that, they have a lot in common. How to avoid this situation of a name being defamed in public is something that I, as well as Paul Smith, needed to learn before the demise of the relationship. It began with the popular page "Facebook" in which he proceeded to send embarrassing videos, and emailing a private, and scandalous "sex tape" to every single person that we knew. This was the first malicious act. I suppose that he was scorned because while on a break I decided that it was best for me to be single - or, single without him. After cooling the situation with the risqué photos and videos, there began "the battle of the assets," dividing and choosing who got what from the five year relationship bordered on ridiculous. There was nothing of immense value that I wanted. I did not ask for the valuable electronics, or the extensive and valuable
I have found the perfect definition of sex from Greta Christina’s paper “Are We Having Sex Now or What?” and that is, “Maybe if both of you (or all of you) think of it as sex, then it’s sex whether you’re having fun or not.” I find this definition as sex because it clearly tells the audience that sex is sex if you thought of it as sex. For example, when opposite or same sex have a sexual activity or intercourse with each other whether you like it or not, it is sex. However, this definition can be unsatisfactory to others because there can be cases when people may not want to count it as sex, such as getting sexually assaulted by someone. In this case, the person who got sexually assaulted would not want to count it as sex and avoid the truth, but for the person who made a sexual assault to someone, that person would count it as sex. It may be hard for those people who gets sexually assaulted, but that is the reality and the truth that he/she had sex with someone. Therefore, even though this definition may be broad and unsatisfactory to some people, it will narrow down and clearly prove that you had sex if you think you had sex.
All children and young people are potentially at risk of being sexually exploited. Child sexual exploitation (CSE) is a form of child sexual abuse where an individual or group takes advantage of an imbalance of power to coerce, manipulate or deceive a child or young person under the age of 18 into sexual activity (a) in exchange for something the victim needs or wants, and/or (b) for the financial advantage or increased status of the perpetrator or facilitator (New England definition 2017). The Education system via schools, youth services, parental advice have a vital role to play in reducing the risk by enabling children and young people to explore what makes a safe and healthy relationship. Youth work professionals can help young people
Lust is having a self-indulgent sexual desire. Susan Minot portrayed the mind of a promiscuous high school female perfectly. Lust is powerful and seductive, but it's inherently selfish and opposed to love. For many girls who are having sex with different boys they can identify with the desire to be needed. The characters in "Lust" are written in a way to highlight the dysfunction and disconnection of everyone involved. The narrator herself is nameless and faceless, making the reader believe that she has already somehow disappeared, just as the men in her life have made her disappear after having sex. Similarly, the men are listed in a brief and are identified only by their sexual acts or by other, easily objectified characteristics. What
A civil courtroom in Nashville, Tennessee, currently has an ongoing trial over a nude tape of journalist and sportscaster Erin Andrews. The nude tape was filmed by a stalker without her knowledge and posted online against her will. This is a sex crime at its most basic level, but Andrews faced much opposition, saying that she leaked the tape herself by the media and was told that this tape would be good for her career. She was barred from doing her job at one point until she participated in a televised interview over what happened, she chose Oprah Winfrey. What happened with the tape is that when Andrews was filming a football game, Michael David Barrett altered the peephole of her hotel room and filmed her undressing. He uploaded it to the

'Sex Without Love,' by Sharon Olds passionately described the author's disgust for casual sex in which she vividly animates the immorality of lustful sex through the variety of her language. The sarcasm used in this selection can easily be misunderstood and quite confusing if the words and lines are not analyzed with specific construction. Olds' clever use of imagery and frequent uses of similes, to make the reader imagine actual events, makes this poem come to life. For example, Olds describes making love as 'Beautiful as dancers.' (Line #2) in this line, she questions how one can do such a beautiful act with a person whom one is not in love with. Olds also describes sex as 'gliding over each other
Visualize living in a society where slut-shaming occurs every day and someone's mistake is publicized to the point that everyone knows what happened. Some people would believe this would be referring to the Puritan society that existed during the 1600’s, but unfortunately, this is common situations that appear in today’s society. A “famous” person's error can show up on social media, covers of magazines, and every talk show throughout America. For example, recently the break up of the beloved Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appeared everywhere in less than a day. The breakup sparked news on twitter, talk shows such as Wendy Williams, and prevailed to be the lead story on every tabloid by the following day. Even though our society did not devise
Women face mostly the maximum rate of dating violence. One in five women will be a victim of sexual assault while they are in college. One in nine girls will be forced against their will to have sex. One in ten will be hurt on purpose by someone they are dating. Men also go through these assaults the number of victims are fewer but nevertheless greatly essential.
I choose this topic because sexual assault is one of the most offensive crimes committed in our society. Not only is it a threat to the community, but it has a physically and psychologically effect on the victim in many ways. For the last couple of decades, sexual assault, rape, and child molestation has become the focal point of public concerns today. According to a 1993 National Crime Victimization Survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, about 500,000 rapes or sexual assaults occur each year (Statistics, March 2010). The Department of Justice states that, “rape crimes have risen nearly three times as fast as the total crime rate”, although other studies have shown statistics that are in
Tom sat on the sofa, his shoulders hunched forward, his eyes staring listlessly into space. In his hands, a forgotten cup of coffee trembled violently, the lukewarm liquid spilling over his fingers. He hadn’t uttered a single word since his impassioned attempt to justify Booker’s assault, and as the minutes ticked by, his silence only added to Doug’s concerns. Although not an expert, as a cop, Penhall understood about trauma, and fearing his friend was going into shock, he made the decision to call 911. With an ambulance on its way, he dialed a second number, and after a brief conversation, he hung up. Turning his attention to Tom, he wondered how to proceed. While he wanted to offer comfort, he honestly did not know what to say. How did you console the victim of sexual assault when the perpetrator was a trusted colleague you worked side by side with day in day out? He was out of his depth and terrified of making matters worse, but he knew he needed to do something other than making a cup of coffee, and approaching Tom, he squatted down and laid a hand on his knee. “How ya doin’, buddy?”
Sharon Olds’ poem “Sex Without Love” wonders at the ability for two people to have sex and not involve emotions or pretenses of love. The poem argues that it is better to have sex without love under the premise that love is a false savior for people, and everyone is all alone anyhow. In other words, the claim is that personal interactions do not serve a purpose other than being a distraction, and they will inevitably end. However, the notion that attachment and love are false hopes for people and each person is all alone does not account for the inevitability of human interactions and the underlying importance of relationships. While the poem does not give its definition of being alone, complete isolation is virtually impossible and leads
“People are inclined to think that a sex offender is a sex offender – that they commit one type of crime (Okada.p.190).”
In Marge Piercy's book, Woman on the Edge of Time, sex plays a major role in both the utopia and the dystopia. The portrayal of sex in the novel comes from a feminist point of view. The main character, Connie, is caught between a utopian world and a dystopian world where the takes on sex are on different levels. By using a feminist approach, the two worlds of sex can be examined and contrasted.
A Father is an important part of a daughter’s life, they are there to guide, mentor, and protect their daughters. In the Poem My Father in the Navy Judith Ortiz Cofer shows how here relationship with her father has had a positive impact to her. While the poem Daddy by Silvia Plath shows the negative relationship with her father hinders her. Both Poem explore the complexity of relationship with fathers.
Girls & Sex by Peggy Orenstein portrays teenage sexuality as anything but light-hearted. While the title would lead a person to believe that the book is all about girls’ sexuality, it is not. Sexuality among todays teen seems to be more focused on boys than girls. Today’s teenage culture is what is known as a “hook-up” culture. This hook-up culture seems to be driving teenagers into impersonal relationships consisting of various sexual acts. This book is a must read for educators, mothers, fathers, Aunts, Uncles, and so on, but be forewarned, the information that girls have shared with the author as she interviewed more than seventy young women between the ages of fifteen and twenty (Orenstein, P., 2016), can be alarming to anyone who is not yet aware of this culture.
