Hello! I am Joshua Osborne. I am telling you this story of firstly I was having the world’s worst Christmas, then having the world’s best Christmas, hence the title ‘The change of the Christmases!’
Anyway here we go…….
Dear diary it is Christmas day. I have no money. I am sad. I am lonely. I am homeless. Also I am hungry. Really hungry.
Then a person, no, an extraordinary person dropped a paper bag full of £50 notes. Hang on a minute, there are 100 fifty pound notes, which means I have got five thousand pounds. So I got up and ran to the man who got it to me. I ran as fast as possible. Then I reached that man and I gave him an enormous hug and he said “Joshua Osborne please get off of me and get something to eat. Go!!!” then I asked

Now we might be nowhere. Or, No, Can’t be, Could it?” then I said “If I am thinking rightly you are thinking that we might be in the Parallel Earth?” then he responded “yes, you are right. We could be in Parallel Earth. We can’t be? Could we? We absolutely can’t be? We must be! Anyway there is one way to find out! Josh get ready to do some space travel! You are going to be excited!” then I said “yes I am going to be excited. Actually I am going to be astonished. But we have travelled through space already when we landed”
We finally stopped arguing when we space travelled and we went out of the TARDIS doors. Right in front of me is another planet, but our planet, called the Parallel Earth. Then I said to the Doctor “I told you that we are in Parallel Earth. In your face Doctor!fdwSRGHWTYJTYUTRGVGFHUJ Ha!” he responded angrily “yeah whatever!!” then I saw myself in a mansion. He looks really rich so I wandered off to say hello to myself when the Doctor wasn’t looking. Five minutes after, the Doctor saw me right next to the mansion entrance. I knocked on the door. Then some thoughts rushed through my head: Am I doing the right thing? Do I deserve to see myself from another world? In the time laws am I allowed to see myself from another world?
Then the Doctor ran as fast as he could towards me and he said “Wait!” then I did. The thoughts are still rushing through my head. Finally, the Doctor met me and said
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was first published in London on the 19th of December 1843, the novella was instantly popular and still is to this day. Dickens inspiration for the short story seems to come from his childhood experiences and his sympathy for the poor. In the story a miserable old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, is shown the error of his ways and what will come of it if he doesn’t make drastic changes. Various ghosts and spirits slowly transform him into a kinder more pleasant man. A Christmas Carol is a powerful novella that uses symbolism like the children Ignorance and Want, Scrooge’s transformation, and Scrooges nephew Fred, to reinforce significant themes like social isolation, rebirth, and family.
a prison or a treadmill; he did not think for a second that the places
Robert Butler used setting and tone to establish thematic meaning in the story “Christmas 1910” by placing the setting at a very cold, isolated, and depressing house. This led to the thematic meaning because the main character, Abigail, is affected by the setting. If the house wasn’t placed where it was the story would be completely different.
Christmas Carol How does Charles Dickens convey the character of scrooge in the early pages of a Christmas Carol? Charles Dickens, is best known for his host of distinctively cruel, repugnant characters. His father was sent to a Debtors prison taken his son Charles with him
Each ghost marks an important step in Scrooge’s journey towards being a better person. Explain
A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens in 1843. Life for the lower class during this time was extremely hard because of enormous amounts of illnesses, young children worked and no education. A Christmas Carol was set in mid 19th century, during this time people had a really bad time; most of the people was unemployed and the people who were employed were paid deficiently, others were seasonal or casual, which meant they were when work was available so most of the families lived in poverty which means that they didn’t have access to nice food and clothes and children were also used for the family income so the children had to work in work houses. In contrast the rich people had access to doctors, plenty of food and didn’t have to
“But it did it all happened, every bit of it!” I say as I continue my story, “When I hit the bottom of the well there was chocolate bars and I bit one, but then I started to grow big! Then I bit a different one and it made me tiny! Finally I bit another one and it made me back to normal size! Then on the table there was a little key and I looked around for a door I couldn’t find one until I heard the rabbit again! I start remembering what he said, “Oh, I will be late if I don’t leave
She was starting to acknowledge how far down in her memory she'd covered her teenage years. In “The Christmas Miracle” the author Rebeca Curtis shows the audience that Christmas is not as magical as people usually perceive it. With all the diseases, problems, and cat deaths this short story ruins popular beliefs that Christmas is perfect and full of smiles and happiness. One must spend time with their family, no matter the relationships and problems they have between each other, so it leads to a ruined celebration and not so magical Christmas. She uses incest and mental and physical diseases to show the reader how terrible winter holidays can be and that not everybody has the best time of their life during that time.
I have to say, this play was intriguing to me, with the three interlocking plots, all of which surrounding a common theme; marriages. I am not familiar with this play outside of this class, I had wanted to see the Hollywood adaptation with Kevin Kline, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Stanley Tucci, but I never got around to it. To be honest, I didn’t identify with any of the characters or the plot itself, which caused great difficulty in choosing an angle for this paper.
Most people agree that Christmas is a magical time. They believe that it can warm the heart of Scrooge, bring toys to life, and even deliver toys across the globe. However, can a Christmas ad be magical, is it possible for just an ad taped to the wall; can it incite warm feelings in someone’s heart, to bring just a spec of happiness to them? This ad for “The Little Town of Christmas,” may seem plain and boring, yet there are several aspects to it that many will and have overlooked. There are several different design aspects that are used to incite this warm Christmas mood into the hearts of many; these aspects are the ad’s font style, the color scheme, the age range it targets, and the overall design choice.
Do you ever feel like people change? In A Christmas Carol, written by Charles Dickens, Scrooge is a grouchy, unsocial, miserly, uncharitable old man. He is extremely unsympathetic and bah humbugs everything to do with Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is magically visited by 3 ghosts. The ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Scrooge has a rude awakening of haunting memories he holds onto. These memories make him feeling as if he needs a second chance and a fresh start at life. What better day than Christmas to tidy the dreaded past. The mysterious ghosts bring him to the past, present and future in one night. Scrooge had remarkable experiences and felt emotions he had never thought were possible to feel again. Scrooge longed for a new future because of these experiences. Therefore, I believe that Scrooge changed in the play because of the ghostly visits, his aching heart for Tiny Tim and the relief that he could have a second chance at life.
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground. Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy.
Have you ever pondered what may lie beyond our solar system? Perhaps you’ve decided that there is no way anything could be out there, in the empty, seemingly endless void we call space. However, perhaps there is other life out there, life more advanced than us, perhaps life just now exiting what to us would be the stone age, the possibilities are truly infinite. Personally, I believe there are other beings out there in the vast expanse.
In the story of A Christmas Carol Marley started out dead as a doornail and like normal Scrooge is an old bitter, greedy man who hates Christmas, feelings, love and happiness. People around him think that Scrooge is a pain and an unfriendly person to be around during the holidays. He always acted like an old sinner who doesn’t like anything. Nevertheless Scrooge is a tight fisted hand at the grindstone! Nobody really liked him because he never made friends and never really interacted with anyone. Scrooge has thin legs, a pointed nose and a cracked voice. In the first stave Marley came to Scrooge and told him what was yet to come and how he was always beside him watching him do things. Once Marley vanished Scrooge went to bed not thinking about the first spirit. The clock went faster than normal and Scrooge wondered why and started to freak out and soon the first spirit appeared. When the spirit came, she said “I’m The Ghost of Christmas Past.” Scrooge was frightened and blinded by the light from the spirit. In the past of Scrooge were so many memories that mattered to him. Some of those memories that Scrooge had were great and many of them were not and but that's what gave Scrooge feelings. According to the text Scrooge sobbed when he saw some of the memories. So that must mean that he smiled when he saw some of the memories. After the spirit left Scrooge he had found out that his character needed improvement. The Ghost of Christmas Past affected Scrooge by
