With thousands of selfies taken every day, it isn’t a surprise that brands are catching on popular way to capture the moment. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) wanted to generate awareness among 18-25 year olds about endangered species so they created a marketing campaign entitled #LastSelfie. WWF used the popular app, Snapchat, encouraging users to share, adopt an animal or donate money for the endangered species. The campaign was successful in targeting millennials as they are some of Snapchat's most consistent users. The campaign grabs the user’s attention because of the colorful and bright images and the creative hashtag. Although the campaign did pretty well in terms of a successful campaign; Snapchat is still considered emerging and its

Abilene Christian University (ACU) in Texas has kicked out several teenage students for posing in blackface on a video on messaging app Snapchat.
Social media has become one of the most dominate things in the lives of today’s youth. Millennials use social media for many reasons, to stay connected and as a source of entertainment. Among all the social media sites, one that is particularly popular is Snap chat. Most college and high school students check this app before twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Instagram noticed this trend early and tried to buy out snapchat, but their attempt failed and now snapchat has not only influenced its opens to copy its stories idea but also almost copy the format exactly. In my paper I will discuss two different articles that both focus on the topic of snap chat usage. I will also contrast these two articles and reveal how they have similar findings but different approaches.
In today’s generation, teenagers get emotional when their friend “boxes” them on Snapchat. When someone boxes another person, it means that their picture was opened and they did not receive a response from the person who opened the picture. It almost feels like being boxed is the end of the world. Technology has changed our world immensely. Instead of being concerned for others who have it much worse, many people enjoy complaining about drama that develops behind a thousand dollar screen. After hearing of this “devastation,” I knew this was not right. There are people all over the world who are homeless, being abused, and fighting for our country, while we are here in Sartell, Minnesota complaining about how someone did not Snapchat us back. I am guilty of complaining of this and as a result, I decided to find a way to help someone in need.
The Snap Effect: How Snapchat is changing digital merchandising You may have heard of a smartphone app called Snapchat. Many people have heard of it as the social media company that turned down Facebook’s attempt to buy the company for three billion dollars (you heard me three billion). Snapchat is a smartphone app that is now widely used by just about everyone. Overall, Snapchat has revolutionized the social media world, yet it consists of a tactic that is older than any style of communication.

Snapchat, one of the popular apps, is showing up on numerous phones. Snapchat is an easier way to be in the moment with a friend who is not there. Often on this app, there will be the ability to add to a worldwide “story” which is a bunch of photos or videos compiled together. During famous or important events around the world, Snapchat manufactures gigantic stories to show others what is happening. Snapchat is an excellent way to communicate with people out of the country who are friends, or in a different state who are not allowed to provide their phone numbers. The beauty of this app is communication is easier, allowing users to be in the moment together, or seeing things happening around the
Within the world of social and digital media few brands have ever drummed up the level of excitement as Snapchat. The “yellow” brand that emerged from the minds of Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown has brought the world social-focused image messaging unlike ever before. While its start was slow, Snapchat had more than 800 million active monthly users by the end of January 2016, which shows just how huge the outreach of the app has become.
On Wednesday, September 7th, Apple revealed its plans for the new iPhone and Apple watch in an event held in San Francisco, California. During this event, Apple unveiled many of the new features, or lack of, in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. While there was talk about the new Apple watch, most of the attention was focused on the fact that the new iPhone would lack one of the most traditional features, the headphone jack. Apple is creating a path towards the future in which the world works without wires. While the idea of a waterproof phone and no headphone jack fascinate some people, others argue there is no true advancement in the phone itself.
Research has indicated that some brands are still worried that too much engagement on social media channels can be self-destructive and cause trouble for the brand. Snapchat is one of the channels that some brand does not want to be associated with as they perceived that the customer only uses Snapchat as a sexting tool (Patel,
The cell phone beginnings in the early 1970s, as researchers searched for a way to make the mobile car phone a more effective and efficient unit. At that time, they felt that by limiting the service area of the mobile phone to a small group of "cells" they could improve the effectiveness and clarity of the phone. After many year of revolution, the world best two cell phone are iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 7. In my opinion, the iPhone 7 Plus is better than Samsung Galaxy Note 7 base on the three major point of evidence I have found on the internet.
Did you know that Bill Gates' children weren’t allowed to have smartphones till they were fourteen? The former Microsoft CEO, who no doubt knows something about technology, recognized the serious hazards that came with these devices. More and more children in both Elementary and Middle schools are receiving smartphones from their parents. Why is this? Perhaps its the social pressure, making parents feel that their kids need to have phones if they're going to fit in. It is also possible that parents are simply handing down their older smartphones to their kids as free “gifts”. But are they really gifts? Or are they more like burdens? Child psychologists and internet safety leaders agree; to own a phone, a person should be at least fourteen. A child under 8th grade should absolutely not be given a smartphone.
There is a lot of talk about evil AI these days and Apple isn't making it any better. The company shocked the world regarding their new facial recognition technology for the upcoming iPhone X. While most see it as a convenient upgrade to our lives, some see this as the beginning of our technology-driven slavery.
“Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics,” announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. “What is your topic Cindy?” As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. “Waffles are better than pancakes.” I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. “Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!” I survived to live yet another day.
