Social media is one of the main ways of communication. This generation uses social media to do a majority of their communication. There are many things to think about when communicating with social media. Also when running a company such as J&L heating and air I want my customers to perceive my company as being respectful. When responding to emails I want my customers to get a very prompt response. Sometimes email is the only impression the customer may have of the company, it defiantly needs to be a great first impression. Below are the rules that our company will be abiding by.
Don’t write in all caps. When writing in all caps it appears that you are yelling at the audience or person you are talking to. Being aware of how you may come off to the person you are communicating with is very important. Writing in all caps can feel very rude. This is also considered disrespectful.
Check grammar. Checking grammar before posting or sending an email can make you appear more intelligent. Your audience will be more likely to take you serious if your grammar is correct. This also makes customers feel that if you are uneducated in grammar then what other areas of your skill set are you uneducated in.
Don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to anyone’s face. People generally seem to feel more confident and say things they would never say to someone’s face while sitting behind a keyboard. There are defiantly more appropriate was to handle situations than cowardly hiding behind a keyboard.
It is very important that you use correct grammar when communication in a business environment to make sure what is written is understood correctly. A sentence that contains many grammatical errors can be very hard to read and can cause misunderstanding. It is important to use correct grammar whether it is written or verbal to communicate
