I believe that my undergraduate education -but prepared for the further opportunity- is not enough to pursue advance research in drug development.
Every time I learn about new theories, approaches and developments in pharmaceutical science, such as “The application of layered double hydroxide clay (LDH)-poly (lactide-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) film composites for the controlled release of antibiotics.” (Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine Volume 23, Issue 7, pp 1705-1713), I cannot help feeling excited.
Each setback I encounter or each success I achieve in my experiments would motivate me to persist and continue. It is this fascination with the quality of human life that stands behind my dedicated studies and research in pharmaceutics. Hence, I developed high interest to pursuit my graduate studies in drug
Everyone desires to feel loved, valued, and appreciated. A career in pharmacy opens a door into the lives of other to make a difference. My intentions, now and as a pharmacist, ensures the value of each person by offering quality patient, guiding them with healthy lifestyle choices, and respecting each individual. Being a pharmacists offers a chance to care for those in need. Opportunities to brighten some one’s day with a listening ear or a smile comes occurs on a daily basis. One of my favorite quotes whose author is unknown, states that a smile can change to world. ‘’Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.’’-Unknown
From there, I began to explore more of what a career in pharmacy would mean and take the steps necessary to pursue my dream. As I reflect on the past and look forward, becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy is still the clear answer to achieving both my immediate and long-term goals. My immediate goal is to work towards additional education to be better equipped to utilize my undergraduate degree. In particular, I have a strong interest in applying my knowledge of biochemistry to the area of pharmacy in order to better understand how different medications work, how to help patients understand their medications, and how to solve problems to better care for patients. Ultimately, through achieving a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, I desire to develop a meaningful career that would allow for life-long learning and impacting lives.
My strongest impetus for the study of this major is pegged on the personal urge to improve the lives and health of those around me. I would only be able to serve the health of others when I am fully acquainted with the knowledge of pharmacy, which to me is one of the noblest professions. I am deeply concerned about the welfare of others. My experiences, especially as I visit hospitals form a significant part in influencing my choice to study pharmacy. At one point, I felt very bad when a pharmacist in a hospital I had visited was very indolent in serving a patient. All human beings would feel adored and valued when they are given appropriate attention in regard to their health. The health profession has a mission geared towards safeguarding people's health and that mission is perfectly in sync with my desires. I want to be exceptional, to do my best in caring for people, and attend to their interest to the best of my knowledge. I admire nourishing hope to desolate patients and always give them a reason to
My childhood unleashed a desire to know how things worked and why things happened; this soon flourished into a more specific interest in the field of Pharmacy. Medicine fascinated me, driving my obsession to understand all of the dynamics of pharmaceutical drugs. My studies in Biology at New Jersey City University, and my current occupation as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, led my desire to go further with my education in pursing an advanced degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy. My undergraduate career has prepared me extensively, such as requiring that I take on a wide range of science-based courses including Biochemistry, Genetics, and Microbiology. My hard work and dedication led to me being on the Dean's List for a number of semesters. I was also honored to be part of The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success and The Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” My education in the Pharmacology could and can help out with the future of medicine. But first I would have to attend college to further my knowledge in the pharmaceutical field. University of Texas, habited by the Longhorns, is ranked number one as a top public university in the U.S. and will help further my career goals.
I have spent my time as a student pharmacist learning about opportunities within clinical pharmacy and making certain that I was equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. In my pursuit, I became an active member of pharmaceutical organizations, held multiple leadership positions, attended clinical conferences, established research projects, participated in community service events, and other initiatives. I excelled academically, which was manifested in not just a high academic standard but also in tutoring fellow classmates and arranging sessions with other pharmacy students to help them improve time management and study skills. I shadowed pharmacists and residents before my advanced pharmacy practice experiences commenced to discover which areas of clinical pharmacy I found intriguing. I have obtained valuable pharmacy practice experiences in five specialties thus far including inpatient internal medicine, long term acute care, geriatrics and telehealth, and primary care. Through these rotations, I built upon the knowledge I acquired from my didactic courses but also developed patient-centered approaches and strengthened my clinical skills. I enjoyed many aspects of my rotations, including contributing pharmacotherapy recommendations, providing patient education, attending rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings – all of which have solidified my desire
Five to ten years from now, I will be obtaining my graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences after having built a strong foundation in chemistry, human physiology, and drug discovery. As a graduate student who aspires to synthesize and test new drugs and therapies, I will be working in a research laboratory or participating in an internship to prepare myself for a future in a collegial environment with other medical professionals. By this time, I would have already spent a semester abroad as a foreign exchange student in France to enhance my French minor studies. As an independent student who will have the opportunity to explore Europe, I will be able to expose myself to a variety of cultures and perspectives so that I could develop an understanding of global issues within the medical field and apply different frames of references to my research.
As the first generation in my family to go to college I learned the importance of education. I graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelors in Science and an Environment Certificate. I became intregted by pharmacy when I started to spent countless hours at a hospital watching my grandfather go in and out of surgeries and treatments for cancer. Seeing the different medication being handed to him inspired me to understand biological and chemical processes that happened. A Pharmacists, role is to aim to help patients treat illness by introducing new developed treatment of medicines with a range of patients. I began to take special interest in memorizing all my grandfather’s medications and how practical and clinical aspect pharmacy worked.
Through the training opportunities available at this university I will have the ability to pursue further interaction with patients while strengthening my pharmacotherapeutic knowledge related to specific disease states. In the course of achieving my short term goal of achieving a pharmacy residency, I will be able to refine and hone my clinical expertise as well as expanding my research and teaching abilities. Upon completion of this training, as well as my post-doctorate training, my plan is to obtain a position as a clinical pharmacist in a specialized patient population. The exposition to a variety of different areas of pharmacy practice will undoubtedly shape the direction which I choose to pursue, though I know that currently my primary field of interest is ____. By continuing to pursue this field, I will be better capable of teaching students in the future as well as conducting research in a variety of pharmacy
Research with Dr. Smith on neurodegenerative diseases further stimulated my curiosity. Equally satisfying is my investigation with Dr. Jones of the relevance of endogenous opiates to drug therapies for schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s chorea, and drug abuse. I love research. Looking at the results of an experiment for the first time and knowing that my data, this newly found piece of information, is furthering our knowledge in a small area of science is an indescribable experience. I have so enjoyed it that I am currently enrolled in two Departmental Honors programs, both requiring an Honors Thesis. I will graduate next year with two majors — Neuroscience and Biological Sciences. While I want to incorporate research into my career, after meeting Paul I realized that the lab’s distant analytical approach wouldn’t help me show compassion to my patients. Even worse, it could contribute to the emotional neglect I found so repulsive.
Last year, as a part of the school medic club, I was given the task of giving a presentation
Human capital is an important aspect of an individual's life that are affected by their education, training, and health. In order to optimize my human capital, I plan on continuing my education and pursuing a chemistry degree or taking part in a pharmacy program to be able to receive my Pharm. D. In order to accomplish this goal, I am interested in the pharmaceutical program offered by the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. The program that they offer would allow me to receive my pharmacy degree in six years and be guaranteed a job shortly after graduating. Another option would be to attend a school that focused primarily on pharmaceuticals such as the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and health sciences. Throughout my schooling, I would like to shadow or intern for a professional in the field so I am able to better understand the qualities and aspects that pharmacists have to be equipped with.
Besides, I completed my Bachelors in Pharmacy from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, and also hold an MBA degree, specialization in Healthcare services. Currently, I am working as a Clinical Pharmacist at Health City Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands. I previously worked as a Medical content writer in Medical affairs department. Ever since childhood, I have grown up and surrounded by people and thoughts pertaining to health care, because my father works for health care department. Over the years of education and work experience, my understanding about the potential of practicing pharmacy is mounting. These whole set of diverse experiences made me strong and sophisticated in dealing with people, and establishing the smart work
Pharmaceutical Sciences is a topic that has interested me for a while now. What I can say about this topic is that it will help humanity grow as a whole and keep everyone moving forward. This is a topic where people really need to think about what goes behind the scenes of your average pharmacies. Once people start to think about it, they would start to realize that the science that happens is extremely crucial to mankind as we know it. Without this kind of science, where would humans be today? Would we have the ability to evolve the way we have? How far would humans make it to creating today’s future as we know it? The simple answer to all these questions is
