There are certain moments in life that change your perspective on the common moral standard. How could the world tolerate such despicable behavior? One particular night of spring break was a night that I would never forget. Every student has an expectation for spring break. Their hopes are to party and create a week of fun-filled memories with friends that will last a lifetime. Many nights during summer vacation and holidays are spent visiting with friends at my friend, Austin Tynes’ house. On this single night of spring break, my fear would rise through the roof. A group of ten people was visiting at Austin’s house, and the group gathering was getting rather boring. It was hot and humid outside because of the early Louisiana Spring time …show more content…
My friend Austin was in front of me with his loud Chevrolet truck, going swiftly down the road. I was going far slower than Austin and my other friend Olivia was driving behind me. All of this sudden two men stepped out in the road in front of my car. They lived in an old deteriorating trailer. I was shocked, then slowed down quickly, so I would not hit the men. One of them was short and he wore a flat bill hat, an oversized dirty t-shirt with holes, baggy dark pants that were sagging, and had an unshaven scruffy face. The other man was wearing a superhero shirt, jeans, and he had long thin hair, with a thick patchy beard. Both of the men were stumbling around and looking straight at me with anger in their eyes. They appeared to be drunk. At that moment I was terrified, but I knew I had to act calm. I have learned that when someone is angry at you if you are not relaxed, then the person will become even more angry at you. I wanted to speed off, but I had to protect my friend Olivia, and try not to run the men over with my …show more content…
I rolled down my window a few inches and told them I would not be exiting my vehicle. The taller man wanted to fight me and kept screaming curse words at me, and his shorter friend repeated everything he said. The men were angry because Austin, Micah, and the other cars were speeding down through their road. I kept trying to move my car forward, but the men cursed at me and told me not to move. Austin's truck was about a hundred yards in front of me and I saw that he was reversing, because he saw that we were stopped. Once Austin arrived, the ruffians left my car and told Austin that he should not be speeding down their road. They were worried that kids could be hurt by an accelerating car. The shorter man wanted to fight Austin, and the men threatened Austin by saying that they would shoot him if he ever came back down their road. After both guys finished talking to Austin, they came back to my car yelling profane words and insults at me. Once they finished, the guys started walking back to their trailer and we drove off. It was one of the most intense situations I have ever been in. My adrenaline was pumping and I was afraid for my life. The caravan of vehicles drove back to Austin’s house and we relayed our stories between each other. I then came to realize Lambert Road was not a planned trip, it was a directionless
I had a good and fun spring break, and I bet it was way better than yours. On Saturday, I went to my moms friends house and had a big Easter Egg Hunt. They had a lot of food and eggs and I got a whole gallon size bag of candy. My cousins(who live in Indio) came to my house and stayed for 3 days, and we had the best time. We played in our trampoline, rode our scooters, played soccer and basketball, and made up this super fun game, that you have to ride around the track in our backyard, and one person had to try to hit you with a Stomp Rocket, and you had to try to dodge it.
My mom always makes silly rules. One of my least favorite rules is that I must go to bed by ten o’clock.
March is a special time in every college student’s life. For two short weeks every spring we are given a break from all of our school-related responsibilities with the hope of tapping into our parent’s bank accounts for the trip of a lifetime before we are financially cut-off and sent into the “real world” following college graduation in a few short years. A spring break trip must be planned far in advance in order to get the best deals on flights, resorts, hotels, etc. before everything books up. Within the next few weeks to a month, I will be negotiating with my parents on where I will travel to for spring break, hoping for a 5-day Carnival cruise. I know my parents may not agree to this, but I plan on using some of the strategies and tactics
I have had the most wonderful spring break of my life I mean not only did I spend it with all my favorite people but I had such a great time and I still wish as though I could relive those wonderful days again. We start off in the airport, when we get off I am sleepy as a guy who only slept for 30 min, because that's about how much I actually slept. We head into our groups we check that everyone's there then we finally head outside and woosh comes the air I haven't felt a breeze like that since the time I went up to the mountains. We hop into the bus, we all meet Bernon and so we sit and he surprises us with there being spots where you can charge your phone’s, at that point I said to Michael, “yo mango we driving in stile tonight” (chuckles).
It was the last day of school and John Anderson was finishing his freshmen year at Alkaline High School in Orlando Florida. It was the weekend before the last week of school and John was invited to a friend’s end of the year party at his country club. John was well aware that the party was going to be out of control and was in on whatever happened. John eventually arrived and was the last one to arrive and walked into a wild environment of more than 100 of his closest piers. The music was blasting but it wasn’t your traditional party rock music, but classical jazz. Somehow the party was still loud and full of crazy girls and energy filled boys. The main reason for why the boys were so hyped up was because there was an extreme dare that nobody
Spring break is always a paramount time of the year, it gives students and non students a chance to relax and catch a break from all their responsibilities in life.
“My car won’t move” I said turning and looking to Shane. As always, he thought I was just playing so he told me to stop playing around and go. I looked at him once again and said, “My car will not move, I am pushing on the gas but it will not move forward.” As I looked back at the cars behind me embarrassment automatically fell over my face as they laid on their horns. I put my car in park and turned my hazards on as Shane went and told the people they would have to go around. We called both of our parents but they were all at work and could not leave. We were stuck there. As we sat there still in panic one of our friends’ dad pulled up behind me. “That is Roy Plummer!” Shane yelled as he jumped out of my car running back to Roy. He told
His lights were distracting, but eventually he passed me illegally. In a state of rage, I left my high beams on and sped up a bit, but left some distance. The Jeep then slammed on his brakes, and I did not, due to fear that my tires would spin on the ice. The front end of my car was destroyed and my car battery had flung out. I was too afraid to leave my car because I assumed the situational cause for his behavior was that he was under the influence of alcohol, and that exacerbated his aggressive behavior. After he checked to see the state of his car, he left. While I waited for the police and a tow truck to come in the freezing cold, I thought about how must have been drunk because he was close to a university known for parties in the middle of nowhere on a Thursday night, and he chose not to wait for the police even though it was technically my fault. I believe that in the situation with my brother, I committed the FAE. I did not taken into account that my brother had been experiencing anxiety since he had not decided yet on what to major in. In the latter situation, since my phone was about to die and I was waiting, I had time to reflect upon the events that had
I pulled up to the intersection, which had people on all other sides of me. I watched the last car that had gotten there before me drive off, and as I went to proceed, the Honda to my left was suddenly only a few feet in front of me. The car stopped and immediately both the woman driving and her 7 year old daughter glared at me, then continued as if it were my fault they were a body length away from becoming a T-Bone steak.
Three cop cars, one firetruck, and two ambulances all showed up at the same time. I have never seen so many bright, intimidating lights at once. The cops were very impolite towards me and the boys. The moment the highway patrol arrived, he pulled me to the side and started asking me questions. One of his very initial questions was, “Were you guys all wearing your seatbelts?” I started thinking about the question and realized none of us had been buckled up. I was very disappointed in myself at this point because I normally buckle my seatbelt before I turn my key in the ignition. I then told him repeatedly I was the driver and I was not just taking the blame for the boys to keep them out of trouble. The officer continued to remind me about the head marks in the windshield. Drew and Jake had both hit their heads on the windshield and it looked like the truck had caught two foul balls at a baseball game. The officer said, “If we measure those indentions and find out you are lying, you will be in a lot of trouble.” I began to inform him once again, “Officer, I swear to God I was the one driving that truck.” The highway patrol then asked me to come sit in his car for further
I was having a hard time concentrating on the computer. It was so nice, I just kept staring out the window. About two-forty in the am, was when the commotion started. The traffic was mild but steady for this time of night. I could hear the sirens and in the distance, I could see many flashing lights. I went to the balcony and had a pretty good view of the interstate looking towards downtown. A few minutes later as the flashing lights started to get closer, I noticed a single car flying about one hundred miles an hour dodging cars on the interstate. The car comes to a stop about perpendicular to the entrance of the car dealership. This with police hot in pursuit.
I started to act as paranoid, leaving home only if it was strictly necessary. I was going to my work very early and was returning home later than usual. I changed routes several times, both for returning home and go to work. But one day, on June 29, 2015 at 9:30 pm I was intercepted in the Francisco Fajardo highway, were 3 men on two motorcycles. One blocked my car and the other two men of the second motorcycle approached me through the window of my vehicle, they hit me in the face and on the head several times and they told me "remember us", I told them ok take my car
I got out of the car and went and talked to them. I told them if they did not give me money I would come back with a gun they started laughing and joking like I was kidding. So I told them I would be back. Thirty minutes later I came back with a gun. They were all still standing outside and I pulled up with the gun tucked away. As soon as I got out they came at my with a huge piece of pipe. Not even seeing the gun the were still coming at me. I pulled the gun on them and shot. The bullet was a dud with nine more in the chamber. I recocked and pointed it at them again. I set the gun down to fight and they ran literally ran. I was cussing and yelling I chased after one of them and his friend picked up my gun. He pointed at me and pulled the trigger. Luckily for me it was another dud. I got in my car and
Spring Break can be seen from a variety of perspectives. Some people recognize Spring Break as a time to be free and not have to worry about responsibilities. Others recognize Spring Break as a week to catch up on sleep and clean an area that they’ve been trying to avert for the past year. Either way you view it, everyone does their own thing and then comes back to school the following week and talks about it with their friends. Spring Break seems to be just a week long version of Summer Break. We still get a break from schoolwork and having to do any homework over the weekend. Over Spring Break, there are times where I stay home and relax, but other times I travel to go visit my family. This year, I was planning on staying at home, going to
You didn’t have to be inside the campus to see that the students were nerving for their spring break. It was in the air, the smell of growing nature, that feeling of newness, the anxiety of students ready to spring from their seats and head to god knows where. In the classrooms, student’s barley paid any attention, with their eyes fixated on the clock, counting every second. Nobody cared for their grades, jobs, or families, they just went on bragging about all of their goals for the break. Even the professor himself was dull of the school environment. As the clock drew closer to dismissal time, the drop of a pin and the rustling of clothes and bags can be heard clearly, the utter silence nearly made the entire classroom body laugh in
