Recent experience in Theatre and/or Recovery.
While I have only had operating experience as a student nurse, I have had six months experience as an endoscopy nurse and one year experience using sterile technique through my work in the laboratory at the Lions Eye Bank WA.
The six week practical rotation I completed at SJOGH Mount Lawley operating theatre solidified my goal to be part of the theatre and recovery team. During this time I studied instrument names, passing technique, sterile scrub procedure and how to set up and maintain the sterile field. On several occasions I was able to act as scrub scout, only requiring supervision and assistance from my buddy nurse with medications because it was out of my scope of practice to
Upon observation of the circulating nurse, I noticed that she was very interactive and involved in the surgery. One of the responsibilities of the circulating nurse is to retrieve any surgical supplies that are not available in the operating room and to make or receive any calls for the surgeon. During the surgery, I noticed the nurse call for an x-ray for the surgeon, the laboratory for biopsy samples, and the operating room floor front desk to inform them that the surgery would be later than expected. This is her responsibility as the surgeon cannot break sterility by touching the phone and it is easier for him to communicate through her and not leave the surgical site. Also in the operating room, I observed the scrub nurses’ roles. Before the operation, the scrub nurse opened all of the sterile packages, arranged them on the sterile field, and took count of what was there along with the circulating nurse. The scrub nurse did this because she is sterile during the entire procedure, and once the sterile packs are opened, the contents can only be handled by sterile personnel. The scrub nurse also was ready and waiting at the sterile field at all times to get the surgeon any equipment needed from the sterile field. This is helpful to the surgeon because it enables the surgeon to stay at the surgical site and convenient for when

With over 1 years experience working in various wards throughout St Vincent’s Hospital as well as my placements throughout my diploma studies, I have gained a high level of knowledge of various elements of safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in nursing processes. Seeing how these values were reflected in the efforts of staff helped to make clear the impact of the organization’s culture on its staff and how services were provided to clients (C #8). In my work as a nurse at one hospital, staff would regularly distribute information and literature on relevant issues and topics, and we would engage in meetings to ensure other nurses were apprised of key changes and developments within the field (C #116, #117d,
I am interested in your Nurse Practitioner position for the Interventional Endoscopy Service, which was posted on indeed.com. I am writing because I believe I possess the qualities you seek. I received my master of science from Columbia University School of Nursing. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I worked as a Spanish teacher for 15 years and as a Spanish medical interpreter for 7 years. Using my linguistic and cultural literacy, and the nursing skills I acquired at Columbia and as a working RN, I would be an asset as an NP, especially in a community like Washington Heights.
In order for our organization to increase the cultural competence, our staff must be trained on how to provide patient care and services in a culturally competent manner. Training that is based on facts cause our staff to become limited in the acts of cultural diversity, but we can combine facts with skills that are more universal to accomplish a successful cultural competence. It is important during our admission process that our admission representatives use curiosity, empathy, and respect to help get useful information about the patient's individual beliefs and preferences so that we do not offend our

The focus of this study is to use the data, information, knowledge, wisdom continuum and to explore the topic of nursing plans in the operating room. This work will identify key terms used and the databases to conduct the research for this study. This study will involve consideration of what is known currently by the researcher about the topic and what additional information would be needed to answer the question. Also addressed will be how the relevant information would be extracted from the articles and how the information would be organized in a useful manner. Finally, this study will consider how the step from having useful knowledge to gaining wisdom would occur.
First everyone had to put on a mask, wear surgical head covers, proper scrubs, and shoe covers. Inside the operation room, the surgeon and scrub tech had to put on a sterile attire, which included sterile scrubs, gloves, and equipment because they were the first people to have contact with patient. The circulator or documenting nurse and anesthesiologist were around the sterile field (aseptic technique) without any contact with the patient whatsoever. As you would have guessed, the surgeon was the one who performed the surgery with the help of the scrub tech and monitored by the circulator nurse and anesthesiologist. The main duties of the circulator nurse was to document everything during the surgery from what medications used to how many sterile dressings were used, proving supplies to the surgeon and the scrub tech as needed, and making sure the room was prepare for the assigned surgery. This nurse also provides conform measurements for the patient while in the operation room. For instance, there was a patient who was too big for the operation bed, so the circulator nurse had to find additional supplies that would prevent the patient from sliding down the bed. Nurses always provide the finest education towards their line of duty but also take the time to teach those people who starting the nursing

The recruitment and selection process refers to where organisations use various methods in order to generate a pool of candidates that are suited to the job at hand and align with the organisations goals.
