When I started working for Vanguard in August 2016, my career goals primarily consisted of improving myself and furthering my career in finance. However, my career goals started to change soon after I began working in the Service Recovery department. My current role as a Resolution Services Associate has helped me to discover the satisfaction that I get when I am able to resolve a client’s issue(s). The career goals that I came into Vanguard with have matured into improving myself so that I can make a significant impact on the clients that I serve, the company that I work for, and the family that supports me. Designing Heart Cart, an application that two other friends and I contributed to, was an experience encompassed with learning to develop both my skills as a coder and innovator, and as a friend and communicator. There were many discussions involving the platform—which allows users to search for local food drives and easy access to hours and information of these organizers, as well as providing an interface through which organizers can communicate specific needs to potential donors—and design. I came to SIATech to get my diploma. More specifically get a diploma so I can move onto college. And I’m glad I came to SIATech it taught me qualities I’ll need in the future to get to where I want to, most importantly it taught me commitment and responsibility. Getting up early in morning and having to take the bus and sprinter to go do some schoolwork I’ve already done or have some type of knowledge in just to finish something I was supposed to have done a year ago, definitely hit me with the realization how stupid it was not to take school seriously. Life is sort of like a race, though you’re only competing with yourself, it doesn’t mean you should go slower just because you can, you should work faster because you’re able to.
I am in college because of several reasons. Neither of my parents went to college and they constantly remind me of how much they regret it. I would be the first person in my family to receive a college degree and that motivates me to continue my education. My dad is in the United State Air Force and he has transferred his Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to me. Receiving the benefits gives me a large percentage off of my tuition and it also allows me to receive a check every month to help pay for housing. I have one goal for being in college and that is to finish. I have had many setbacks in my four years of college because of how many times I have transferred, but now all I can do is finish what I started.
I have worked on a a multitude of teams that have differed in composition and objective but are similar in their ability to bring out new ways to look at how to achieve goals and teach me about how I can contribute to a greater purpose. As an editorial and production intern for CNN on Piers Morgan Tonight and on the network’s flagship foreign affairs show, Fareed Zakaria GPS, I was involved in all aspects of story development and putting together segments for TV. I had the chance to experience firsthand how to communicate between different parties in media to get results, learn about the different programs and systems that go into producing quality programming and written product, and how to adapt quickly and think on my feet when I need to
I am interested in this role because I want to help people learn. Since leaving school I have developed good studying habits, and I feel this will help in reviewing learning materials as I understand the need for clear and concise information. I'd like to use this role to further my work experience and gain new qualifications and contacts for the future. Education is one sector I am considering for a future career, so this would be an interesting job for me.
One of the most overlooked aspects in a business’s, or corporation’s success is its emphasis on management development. Management development is defined as “…the process from which managers learn and improve their skills not only to benefit themselves, but also their employing organizations.” Moreover, whenever a company utilizes its management development skills, it will directly relate to the company’s economic growth along with the company’s environmental well-being.

Growth is unpredictable, complicated, and completely dependent upon our experiences. It is nuanced and the layers are added either by necessity or by choice. Furthering my education is growth by choice. My ultimate goal is a Doctorate in Public Administration. As a penultimate step, I am eager to earn a Master’s in Public Administration with a specialization in Government Administration. This decision came after careful consideration of my academic background, areas of interest, and ultimate career goals.
A personal mission statement is a philosophy or creed that one plans to follow in daily life. It is usually designed with positivity, purpose, and with personal goals for every aspect of life such as career, finances, etc. It also focuses on personality traits that one would like to possess and the accomplishments that one wants to achieve, both short-term and long term. It also houses the individuality of the person writing it. Every person writing a personal mission statement is will produce a different statement. This is primarily because people value different things, characteristics and have different goals. The purpose of this paper is to explore my mission statement (Covey, 2013, pp.113).
