Statement of Purpose to Attend The Schulich School of Business

As children we all dream, we dream about toys, monsters, castles, fairy tales and most importantly, we dream about our futures. I have always dreamed about success, but when I was younger I was not sure of what exactly success entailed. As I grew older and continued to grow physically, spiritually, and mentally I was able to discover my true aspirations and goals.

I am a hardworking, outgoing and self-motivated high school student. The program I have applied for is business accounting. I am convinced that I possess a unique blend of skills that will enable me to successfully complete this program. To begin with, I am quite comfortable working with figures. I regard my love for figures to have come by default. From a very young age my dad who happens to be a mathematics professor saw to it that I developed the necessary analytical capabilities through regular coaching. Hence I have over time developed great passion for analytical subjects including business accounting. I regard my being comfortable with figures an essential skill that will help me succeed in this particular program. Further, I have also been an avid reader of financial magazines and journals. In that regard, I possess significant knowledge on the workings of business. This I will combine with my liking for figures to enhance my chances of success in this particular program.

At this point in my college career, I have reached the limit as to what the Miami-Dade Honors College can offer me. So far I have pursued an Associate in Arts degree in Biology and am looking forward to the next step in my education. My experiences here have allowed me to grow heavily both as a student and an individual, but I am limited in the amount of resources currently available to me. For example, I do not have the variety of courses and study abroad opportunities that four-year college students have. Hence, I have taken all the science and math courses towards my associates degree at Miami-Dade College, but I am left to explore other options to continue to advance my preparation for a career in the science field. I have also operated as part of a team, for example AUQA audits, scholarship allocations, and large IT projects. Having spent most of my career working in schools and faculties I am well versed in dealing with students, general and academic staff and central units. These include timetabling, graduation, prizes and scholarships, and student and academic administration. I have also provided support to academic staff as required, for example in invigilating assessment items (including online assessment), developing course and subject proposals, reviewing Turn It In reports for potential plagiarism, and enabling advanced Blackboard

Prior to our recent move to Oregon, I had become quite comfortable with life in Northern New York and had applied for Empire State College as an important part of my future education. When looking into colleges to continue my education, SUNY Empire State College seemed to shine brighter than the rest. I had initially come across the Military Times Magazine and noticed that SUNY Empire State College had been recognized as “Best for Vets” for the past five years. In speaking and hearing the positive experiences of Soldiers who are current students or alumni, my interest deepened. Ultimately, I enrolled and I hope to continue in advancing my career as a History teacher through studies at SUNY Empire State College.

Every step of my life is a lesson to me. My early childhood was a typical middle class environment in the 1990's. Since I was ten, I had always aspired to be a social worker in my life. When I was nineteen years old, I confirmed nursing as my future profession.

While I am focused on a career in science, I want to utilize the Stony Brook University Honors college to strengthen my current skills and expand my knowledge to create new perspectives. An interdisciplinary education will help me develop a comprehensive understanding of important issues as well as break down the barriers of academic isolation. In many schools, there is very little communication and collaboration across departments leaving them isolated in their perspectives. In many academic fields, particularly science, the knowledge gained in one subject often serves as a way to deepen the learning experience in another subject.

Some may find that collage is the most suited of paths to take, many problems may exist, many questions in need of answering. With Fordham University and Full Sail University is a way to reach opportunities that may motivate, excel, and improve the future as a student, and as a working member of society. Fordham University can be a very impressive offer with its many majors, goals, and challenges that can be explored and viewed. Restrictions of certain G.P.A levels can be present and reviewed by the administration of both the schools, as well as the A.C.T. and S.A.T scores. There are in schools of Fordham and Full Sail University ways to break the walls of regulation by attending various scholarships the college’s offer, even the role that may have been placed in the community oriented groups like F.C.C.L.A or even ILC can be very beneficial. The location of both Fordham University and Full Sail University reside in heavy populated urban cities which may pose a problem with for example prices as well as the likelihood of being accepted may diminish. Each pro and con of the college’s of Fordham and Full Sail will always exist with the questions awaiting to be answered, by the goal students of the future wish to find in each school, and to understand the task they wish to meet in there journey within.

Ever since I have been saved, life has been a rough ride with highs and lows. My sins were many, but God is forgiving. His love has held me together. I place my faith in Almighty God; His son Jesus Christ, who has become my salvation, and the Holy One who has convicted me to live unlike any other in this world. For we are in this world, and not of this world. Our home is in heaven with His Majesty. Becoming a student at Liberty University will allow me to grow even closer to God. This enables me to enhance my spiritual gifts, passions, and skills for God’s kingdom. I want to share the gospel, which Jesus came down to become sin for us, that we are able to have a relationship with God. I am His servant; I want to serve in any way possible and

Universal college is my college of choice because it has the career opportunities that I need to further my major; I hope to contribute in Universal College by taking my leadership skills from my job as an Assistant Manager; I would like to get achieve my goals of getting good grades; I want to take part in voluntary clubs to help give back. For example, taking leadership skills from my job will allow me to contribute a skill for future leaders. I listened to what my boss said to get to the Assistant Manager position. Being a leader could help me teach others that have never had that responsibility; this experience is only one of many that proves why i am choosing to attend Universal College. Business Administration The idea of studying business administration has appealed to me greatly and has encouraged me to further develop my education following this path. I have a keen enthusiasm to pursue a degree in Business Administration as I enjoy the challenges it sets and find the many different areas of business you are able to branch out into, very exciting! From research about the subject I'm expecting to greatly further my learning of how businesses operate and be able to then put my knowledge into practice. I am confident within myself and find communication with others easy.

I am planning on pursuing a minor in Business from the Leeds school of business. This minor is attractive to me because companies want engineers with an understanding of how they fit into the company as a whole, and a minor in business can help with this. In addition to this, the business minor takes the rigorous engineering courses that engineers must take into account, and, as a result, they have distilled the entire minor down to just 4 courses and 12 credit hours. The accessibility of the business minor makes it a popular choice for people from all different majors. The first courses are titled Marketing and Management and Finance and Accounting. Next, the student must choose a track from the following options: Innovation, Analytics, Entrepreneurship, and Global. Of these courses, I would be most likely to choose Entrepreneurship, as I like the idea of developing business ventures and taking risks. Finally, the student takes the Capstone course called Business Plan Development. This course is distinctive in that entire curriculum entails splitting up into smaller groups and developing a personalized, complete business plan for your own unique business. Each team is able to use the professor as a resource, and the business school also hires local entrepreneurs as coaches to help the teams along their journey. Each of the teams that wins their section moves on to a next level of competition where they present in front of
