Having been tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and promotional strategy for the Staten Island Yankees, the Class-A short season affiliate of Major League Baseball's famed New York Yankees, the first priority would be to conduct a thorough appraisal of the organization's current situation. Playing within the confines Richmond County Bank Ballpark, a 7,171-seat waterfront stadium on the northernmost tip of Staten Island, the team recorded a total attendance figure of 192,568 in the 2011 season. This figure means the average Staten Island Yankees game drew only 5,663 fans, or just 79% of the ballpark's capacity, which is unacceptable to say the least. Last season was even more disappointing in terms of local support for the team, and as the Staten Island Advance recently reported "Staten Island has seen an estimated 30 percent drop in reported attendance from a year ago, dipping to 3,934 fans per game through the first 22 home contests compared to 5,663 per game during the 2011 season" (Waggoner, 2012). After a 30-45 finish in last year's regular season, in conjunction with the MLB Yankees roster deterioration over the last offseason, it is reasonable to expect a decrease in attendance similar to the 30 per cent loss seen last year unless a concerted effort is made to revitalize fan support and rebuild the Staten Island Yankees brand. The following sales and promotional strategy report will

The Schoolroom on the Second Floor of the Knitting Mill starts with a mostly lighter tone. A traditional, happy, school room is depicted. The speaker expresses that they “miss” the teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, her room, and the school in general. The tone changes at the somewhat ominous line 15, “somehow it happens,” The line of children crosses the threshold and the speaker, Judy, is told she is not a good leader. The tone is mirrored in the reader’s opinion towards Mrs. Lawrence. Informal diction is used and, on a second reading, several words indicate that even from the beginning the poem may not be as light and sweet as it initially appears. Mrs. Lawrence “carves” her nails, the chimney “[breaks] up the sky”, and it is said that moving over
In January 2003, Michael Pogonowski, the chief financial officer of Aurora Textile Company, was questioning whether the company should install a new ring-spinning machine, the Zinser 351, in the Hunter production facility. This new machine has ability to produce a finer-quality yarn that would be used for higher-quality and higher-margin products. In deciding whether or not to invest this new machine, NPV and the payback period are critical factors. Firstly, we need to forecast the cash flows that the Zinser 351 will generate in the future. After calculation, the ten-year NPV will be $3, 172,582. Secondly, we use the payback period to analyze the acceptance of this project. Based on this analysis,

Silk is one of the oldest fibers known to man and still one of the most sought after materials among contemporary consumer groups (Texere Silk, 2012). There is a Chinese legend that attributes the origin of using silk to an empress who discovered the fibers accidentally when a cocoon fell into a cup from which she was drinking and began to unravel (Needham, 1988). She is also credited with developing the first silk reel using the fibers she discovered from the cocoon. Since that time silk has undergone an impressive evolution in which the fabric was manipulated to serve many different purposes; most notably, the use in garments. Although Western cultures do not have a long tradition for using silk, in Eastern cultures the use of silk is part of the very essence of their heritage (International Trade Forum , 1999).
