Overall, my summer internship at Storyville Entertainment was a positive experience. My primary goal going into the internship was to learn more about the development process. At Storyville, I watched my supervisors navigate through development beginning with the initial pitch. For example, I watched Storyville’s head of development brainstorm ideas for a specific network during my first week as an intern. Throughout the weeks, I helped her research potential hosts, locations, and real-life examples of the show’s story. Last week, the development executive pitched the idea to the network, and the network asked Storyville to create a sizzle reel for the show. Not only did I observe the development process, but I also took an active role in …show more content…
For most of the day, I was busy with administrative tasks or creative work. However, there were times where I did not have any specific assignments. During these times, I prepared pitch ideas for future weeks or read the other interns’ pitches. While this was productive, I should have made myself more useful by asking members of the production and editing teams if they needed help with anything. Unfortunately, I did not do this often because I did not want to bother my supervisors. Looking back, I should have put myself out there more than I did because I probably would have been able to help in small ways, and I would have gotten to know more people in the office. In the future, I will try harder to learn about different employees’ positions and offer my help to more departments of the company. My summer internship at Storyville was extremely educational, and it made me more excited to work in television as a career. My supervisors were consistently kind, appreciative and willing to give the interns opportunities to learn. This internship taught me a lot about various facets of producing television, and I believe my knowledge of the ins and outs of unscripted television is much stronger than it was before I began my internship at
My internship experience proved to be valuable in terms of exposure and knowledge. Attending the M-1 Rail Community Advisory Council meetings were very rewarding. I was able to observe and interact with the public on their thoughts about M-1 Rail. The internship has taught me that it is important to learn how to demonstrate professionalism but courteous behavior at all times. My internship has definitely given me a better understanding of my skill, but most importantly, I’ve come to learn that I am not alone. This job has taught me that almost everybody is in my same position. Thanks to my I know that if I continue to work hard things will fall into place. Being my first position in an office atmosphere, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.
The main task of my internship was to gain more experience and knowledge of our respective field. Overall, the experience proved to be both enjoyable and rewarding. During this internship I used the skills that I learned from my Medical Assistant class and used them in the real world scenarios at the hospital. Also while I there I was exposed to new experiences. Such as performing Urine test on Drug and alcohol patients. For this procedure I had to stand in the restroom with the patient's and watch them urinate into a cup. I had to stand in the restroom with the patients because in the past they try and cheat the system. For example
My internship falls within the peak period of November to May. During this peak period, my role as an intern is to act as a source of support to my seniors. I will provide additional assistance to my engagement team so that they will be able to focus on more crucial areas that require their urgent attention. My duties varied when I was in the office and out at client site. During my internship, I spent about two out of eleven weeks in the office and the remaining
I will still be able to take classes that are necessary for me to graduate, while getting the real-world experience that I need in order to thrive professionally. Usually when people think of production it seems very glamorous, but through the little experiences I’ve had over the past year, I’ve learned that it can be the complete opposite. The production industry, whether television or film, can be very spontaneous, unpredictable and demanding, and I don’t believe I’ve even seen the real deal yet. This is why I need an internship that will make me a better producer and also educate me of how to be ready for any obstacle that comes my way. Living in Hollywood, “the place where dreams come true,” will open many more doors for me and give me a different perspective of production. This is exactly what I need in order to get to the next
After speaking to people, I often had a time to reflect on what I heard. The product was a much greater understanding of the complexity of the American political system. I grew up thinking that that one side was right, and the other was full of irrational arguments. However, people sharing bits of their lives with me taught me that is not true. The support and opposition for every policy makes sense, and deciding which is right is far more of a value judgment than a facts-based judgment than I could have imagined. I feel less sure about what I believe politically after the internship, but again, I do not think that is a bad thing. For the first time, I know how to enter into a thought process without a bias, and able to listen to both sides. This skill is critical for any studies or career in the social sciences.
I started my internship with the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce in the first week of June. Beginning my internship I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had ideas about what I was going to be doing, but wasn’t sure. Whether the task was big or small I knew I wanted to contribute.
The internship was a channel to direct my passion for helping others; my supervisor assigned me numerous projects that involved communicating with community leaders. One project was a collaboration with the U.S. Probation Office to reduce recidivism, and it allowed me first hand encounter on how to create policies and procedures to promote community and individual growth. This insight has inspired me to attend law schools to influence legal policies. After the internship, I continued my involvement in the community outreach through the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Females' Center of Excellence & Leadership, Inc. by mentoring at-risk youths and providing learning opportunities to the youths.
Another activity that I have during this week is that I was sending emails to the interns about the upcoming events. But, I was also communicating with my supervisors about the interns. for example, when I came in to the office, I called my supervisor to check if she has something specific for me to do on Friday (July 15), she was letting me know what events would be next. But, there was not too much to do. Since, there was not too much to do on Friday, my supervisor told me that I can go home around 12:00 P.M. Before I went home I send my supervisor a message letting her know that I was out of the
I have seen dozens of shows, but NBC has made many of my favorites, the 2 hour block of The Office, 30 Rock, Community, and Parks and Rec was pure gold, not to even mention Superstore or any of the amazing dramas. NBC is my most watched network, so when I found your listing for NBC Entertainment - West Coast Spring 2018 Internship(Job# 36089BR), I realized my skills of casting, communication, and development would let me excel at this position and company.
The Walt Disney World Internship did not meet my expectations. I thought a horticulture internship would have put me more involved with the plants. I was disappointed to learn that much of the gardening is outsourced and the greenhouse is primarily for the topiaries. I would rather have worked in The Land or with the Lawn and Ornamental Team. I was an animal trapper before and so I really did not feel as if I was getting the full potential of the internship as a learning experience. When I worked with the arborists or the irrigation team, I learned some but with the irrigation team I was able to diagnose and repair the problem better than the person I was with. Irrigation also wanted to hire me but they did not have a position open on their crew.
My internship entailed a lot of out three students two of which from MSU and the other from Wayne State. Its was a regular eight o’clock to four o’clock job, driving to work itself was an everyday objective from my established residency in Northern Oakland County roughly 40 miles each way. The three of us maintained our own quarters on the 28th floor of the Guardian Building in the financial district of Detroit where we could provide help to each other and work together to draft memos for the Mayor of Detroit Mike Duggan and CEO Warren C. Evans, business proposals for foreign counties to invest in Detroit and Wayne County, and creating a cloud based systems that each employee can import and export data from their current assignment with ease. Individually I was given the opportunity to set up and meet with all 43 communities within the borders of the county. Where the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs and myself would ask questions that focused primarily on business retention and future devolvement. Interviewing and traveling to each city on a daily basis turned out to be the easiest part of the process. Communication was the most
At the start of the internship, my objectives were to learn more about the film industry, to gain further insight into working life and how that differs from college and to gain more experience in the field of public relations. All in all, I felt I achieved all of these goals I set for myself. In my previous write up, I highlighted the difference I found between work life and college life. I found it pleasant that I did not have homework occupying my nights however it was difficult and draining to be focused on work for at least 8 hours a day with a small 1 hour break for lunch. From Mammoth Advertising, I also delved extensively into the inner workings of film PR, especially on how coverages for things such as trailers and posters impacts how a movie will be marketed. I was also given the chance to write press releases for things such as trailers and character debuts, which was fun and exciting. Overall, it gave me a sense of how public relations have an important and irreplaceable place in a successfully marketed film. Although my experience at Mammoth Advertising was not smooth sailing nor easy, my summer with this film PR company has definitely peaked my interest in venturing further into the film PR industry. In my future endeavors, I hope to be working for the studios such as Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures or FOX 20th Century to get a feel of what goes into making a movie successful on within distribution and production
It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support.
Some takeaways from my internship at Menard, is I have discovered that I have a hidden talent for sales that did not know about. An example of this they have been guest that have asked have you worked retail before because I was impressed with quality of service you just offered. I learned a lot about myself that I have more patients than I give myself credit for because they are days I am working with a guest that is beyond indecisive or just be straight up picky. I just patiently want for them to make a decision or
Today was the first day of internship. I attended a new hire training secession about 8 hours and heard about the history of Novogradac & Company LLP, met the partners of the firm, completed all new hire paperwork and turned in to HR. In addition, I learned about ProSystem Engagement which company has been using for audit and tax preparation software. At the end of the day, all intern received a tour of office and met their own team members.
