Strategic Goal Statements
The leadership team discussed specific outcomes that they want accomplish, taking into consideration the issues they want to address. After careful deliberation, they decided that they wanted to create a process of implementation with a feedback loop in which teachers and staff discuss each lesson. Documentation would be written down of what worked and what did not work and modifications could be done for the upcoming lessons. This could be accomplished by setting time for staff to meet and discuss lesson implementation, areas of strength and weakness. While facilitating the leadership team meetings I feel that I try to be organize and prepare for eventualities. I realized that as much as I want to be organized for the TCLT meetings, something always occurred to and I had to improvise in a whim follow the process and when the meeting is done, I reflect on what occurred in the meeting and what my actions were. Through reflection, I find that I should have done things differently or have included other strategies. I feel that I am learning a lot through reflection and redirection, but am hard on myself because I think I should have done this or that.
. I felt that with the instruments given in the course I had a tool to work with and what occurred outside of my control did not disrupt the
I am a member of the Better Seeking Team at my elementary school. This committee is a leadership team responsible for driving decisions and changes in a positive direction. The National Institute for Urban School Improvement describes the school leadership team as “a school-based group of individuals who work to provide a strong organizational process for school renewal and improvements.” (2005, p. 2) As a member of this team, we recently attended the 2015 Model Schools Conference presented by the International Center for Leadership in Education. Bill Daggett, the founder and chairman of the ICLE, says its focus “has been devoted to observing, studying, and supporting the transformation of the nation’s most rapidly improving schools. The key to improving student performance is a tireless focus on providing rigorous and relevant instruction, and that every level of the education organization must be tightly aligned and carefully coordinated around that singular goal.” (n.d.) My professional goal for the coming school year is to implement the major aspects from one of the presentations our team deemed most significant at the conference, the Rigor/Relevance Framework for teaching in a twenty-first-century classroom.
Her success has recently come in 2011. My plan is to open a second sleep study in San Antonio, Texas. Roxanne will continue to manage the center in Corpus Christ and will help me virtually manage the San Antonio location. Because Roxanne has the information needed to model her sleep center it will be much easier to open up my own sleep evaluation center based on her proposal.
Strategic planning is a critical element of an organization’s annual business plan. A strategic plan consists of a number of components. In addition to analyzing a company’s strengths and weaknesses, a strategic plan also includes implementation and control techniques. While this may seem easy enough, implementing a strategic plan into an organization can be challenging. Strategic planning within a company is a tool used in companies that help mature areas in total quality management. This type of planning creates a cohesive management system for lower level employees to better adapt in. “Strategic planning determines where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it 's going to get there. Typically, the process is organization-wide, or focused on a major function such as a division, department or other major function”(McNamara, 2008). In order to plan effectively one must first make a clear assessment of the plan and have an analysis on the corporations mission statement and objective.
Over the past few years the economy in the United States has taken a downturn. It has been so bad, that some businesses were not able to survive. However, Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) was not one of those companies. The fiscal strength of Microsoft played a large part in providing the company with the ability and resources to survive the difficult financial markets (Microsoft Corporation, 2009). As a
(1) The article “Project-Based Instruction: A Great Match for Informational Texts” by Nell K. Duke, discusses the idea of implementing project based learning and how it can greatly improve student’s education. According to Duke, project based instruction involves “working over an extended time period for a purpose beyond satisfying a school requirement”. This includes doing projects in order to “build something, to create something, to respond to a question [students] have, to solve a real problem, or to address a real need” (Duke 1). The article talks about the benefits of this type of instruction and specific examples of how it can be implemented in the school curriculum and Common Core State Standards. Duke also emphasizes how the projects that are implemented should serve a real- life purpose so that students feel more engaged knowing their work will be seen by others outside the classroom and can even help solve a real-life
An effective school leader possesses skills to create, implement, evaluate, improve and share a staff development plan. I met with Ben Rhodes, Sandy Creek Middle School’s principal, to interview him on the specific elements of his yearly staff development plan.
