Using Strengths to Increase Motivation Messuri, Matthew MGT/312 September 22, 2017 Professor Di Cianni “Psychological capital research, defined as a positive situation for personal development with the features of self-reliance while dealing with the challenges (self-efficacy), positive expectations for the future success (optimism), being full of determination (hope), and accomplishment in spite of obstacles resilience”(Ayse, G, Cavus, M. 2014). So for my results of my self-assessment I would have to agree with it. For my efficacy level my score was a 16 witch was a high level. The reason why my Psycap level is high is because like to make sure things are done right the first time so jobs don’t have to be done over again. For my resiliency score I had a 15 which also was a high level of Psycap. The reason why this score is high is because I have the ability to bounce back from tough and difficult situations that are presented to me. For my hope score I had a score of 15 which was also a high level of Psycap. The reason why I score high on this is because I like to think I hope for the best in all situations and that I can overcome anything that is put in front of me. For my last Psycap score which is optimism I had a score of 13 by far this one is my lowest score and I only have a moderate level of Psycap for this one. I try to be as optimistic as possible when things become a challenge to me or if I don’t understand something. So those are the reason

Lastly, “Developer’s” characteristics is helping others to
This past month I have had both my ups and downs. Some of my strengths include interdental cleaning using floss, TePe easy stick, wood stick and pikster stick in a fashion that was both appropriate and effective. My ability to grasp the concept of using sonic/oscillating electric toothbrush was something that I thought that went well for me this month. Also, I have finally gained the ability to hold the periodontal probe with good balance, something that went really well for me, as I was able to hold it without any shaky movements in which it could hurt the patient.
Upon completion of the StrengthsFinder survey, I discovered that my five greatest strengths were Achiever, Discipline, Responsibility, Relator, and Competition. However, I was skeptical about the initial results until I read what each strength entails. I found most of the information given to be accurate. According to the description of those strengths, I discovered that I use them daily without realizing it.
When I took my strengths test I was not necessarily shocked with what I received, more with what I did not receive. I thought for sure that I would have received positivity because people are always telling me how positive I am. Through learning about my strengths I have come to realize that all five of my strengths together may be the cause of my positive attitude, and all five of my strengths working together constantly are what people see. My strengths are restorative, communication, input, strategic, and achiever.
Hospital X has many strengths that maintain its presence within the medical field. One of those strengths is its ability to do cutting edge research. 0.5 points -- What are some individual strengths you can bring to your community care planning team? Explain.
At the side of identifying the areas of improvement, focusing and building on the youth’s strengths and resiliency encourages growth and effective practices. The strengths perspective is “. . . built on the premise that individuals and communities have strengths and resources” (Handbook of social work with group, 2004, p. 66). This perspective permits social workers to recognize personal assets and beliefs of foster youth to promote growth, resiliency, and
The three strengths that I use most effectively to study are, firstly is plotting the times of my lectures and tutorials on a calendar to know when they are and to give myself the required time to study for each session, another big thing about having a calendar is also to have the due dates of assessments on it. Secondly, in a lecture taking notes is the main focus in my studies at home, I am able to provide myself with clear and precise notes to keep a grasp of the information I learnt in the lecture. Finally, I always try to be on time to my lectures and tutorial so I do not miss out on anything I need to know for my studies.
Latoria Payne your summary of the research study on falls acknowledged all the appropriate components. I thank you for pointing out the limitations because in my opinion the research had so much information I was unable to identify any imitations. I definitely agree that more than one hospital should have been involved with the study. The researcher chose to use the quantitative method and help give insight that the elderly are not the only population that is high risk for falls. I believe that hospitals should make fall prevention a number one priority by increasing staff members and educating the patient and families the many risk factors and possible consequences of
I am currently a Master of Science in Accountancy student at the University of Notre Dame looking forward to starting my career working as an auditor. Here are three main strengths I posses.
With the long-term goal of becoming a transformational leader, it is often useful to consider one's strengths and weak nesses across four dimensions. These include personal and professional accountability, career planning, personal journey disciplines and reflect practice reference behaviors and tenets. The intent of this analysis is to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses in each of these four areas. In addition, a discussion will be completed on how current leadership skill sets will be used for advocating change in my workplace. The conclusion of the paper will concentrate on one personal goal for leadership growth, including an implementation plan leading to its fulfillment.
As children, many of us were taught that we could be anything we wanted to be with enough hard work, determination and believing in ourselves. According to Rath (2007, p. 9), we cannot be anything we want to be, however we can be a lot more of who we already are. Strengths Finder 2.0 focuses on finding specific talents an individual possess, so they can then develop them into strengths. Donald O. Clifton created a database containing 34 of the most common talents based on a 40 year study of human strengths. The Clifton StrengthsFinder was created and then evolved into Strengths Finder 2.0. This book focuses on talents, because talents are more likely to be consistent through the lifetime, however knowledge, skills and practice also play important roles in personal strengths (Rath, 2007, p. 18).
The strengths and weaknesses of a committed actor can be paradoxical. For this area I chose to consult with an acting colleague of 17 years. I thought it was necessary to have an objective perspective to honestly describe what has been observed from someone that knows me, personally. The following paragraph from a close friend and veteran actor explains this quandary in her description of me.
My current strengths include; my honesty and passion towards my work. I have always been positive and confident regarding my aims and targets. Along with these, I am a good decision maker, due to which I can make right and quick decisions. Moreover, I have ability to motivate others and do team work. I am also a responsible person, when I make a target; I work day and night to achieve my goal.
In order to define and understand myself in the workplace, I need to know my strengths and weaknesses. What improvements and alterations do I need in order to be a step closer to success in the workplace? As a starting point, the self-assessments provided by McGrawHill and the information from management class will provide a clearer picture of who I am in terms of leading, acquired needs, teamwork attitudes, global potential, and strategic thinking. From what I have gathered, the results relating to personality were accurate and the results relating to potential were surprising to me. With this information, I am able to produce and strengthen goals to improve. The survey results I am most satisfied with are acquired needs and global potential because a need for achievement and potential for global managing are the two qualities I like the most about myself in terms of my future goals. The negative results that come as no surprise to me are teamwork and a need for power and affiliation. Although I was aware of these strengths and weaknesses, these self-assessment tests put an emphasis and reminded me that I need to work harder in my attitude and behaviors when interacting/collaborating with people in the workplace. Whether I got good results or not, all of these qualities can be continuously worked on for improvement.
