Lastly, there are so many tasks involved in my projects that no single person could accomplish them all. Delegation is imperative to make sure each person has their responsibilities and then holding them accountable to make sure those tasks are completed on time. A2a. Evaluate at least three strengths you demonstrate as a leader. One of my strengths as a leader is being respectful to everyone involved in projects. I make it a point to communicate with everyone involved to let them know their thoughts and opinions matter. I have been a leader in various aspects of my life for decades. I have learned that not everyone can be treated the same. Some people are motivated by positive reinforcement and others need to be pushed to succeed. Another strength is being deadline driven. Being able to give someone a deadline, then meeting or exceeding that deadline is very important to me. Once a project is approved, I create a schedule and share it with all parties involved, so everyone knows the expectations. The last strength I demonstrate as a leader is the ability to make decisions. During projects, obstacles arise, and decisions need to be made in …show more content…
I am concerned that people won’t meet their deadlines on certain tasks, so I assume responsibility of the abundance of the work load. This can take my attention away from seeing the big picture at times. Another weakness is taking on too much work initially and not being able to say no. I’m always willing to help others out, but if I take on too many projects at a time, it is not feasible that I can dedicate the proper amount of time and energy each project deserves. My final weakness I demonstrate as a leader is being too passive. In certain instances, I don’t speak up and voice my opinion. This has been detrimental in some instances, where a plan or idea was to be implemented, when I didn’t feel it was a good fit or the plan simply would not
The leader must be sure to take the group dynamics into consideration. It is important to make everyone involved feel that their needs are important. For the project to be a success, everyone participating must feel as if they are contributing and that they are being valued equally.
A third strength I have is an inner drive to be able to stick to a task and get it done. Whether it is at work or at school, if I am assigned a task I make it a point to work at it until the task is done. If a deadline is presented in front of me I have something inside of me that forces me to keep working on it until it is completed and not just completed but done first the right way. Which leads to another strength that I have is a strong work ethic. In my profession in recruiting what I do reflects me and the company that I work for. When I go to recruiting events or career fairs I represent the company that I am there for. Everything about me such as my demeanor, my dress, my attitude, etc. reflects the professionalism of the company as well as any reports or products that are produced and put out by me. I take pride in my work and
My biggest strength would be my organizational skills. Since I am in multiple organizations I make sure I keep a detailed schedule and to do list every week. My position in my sorority has also helped with my organizational skills because I
My second key strength is showing gratitude to others. If someone does something for me or helps me develop a new skill. I show gratitude to them by thanking them, and I tell them that really appreciate their help. I am there for that person when they need my help.
Other strengths that I exhibit include being structured, responsible, articulate, task-oriented, determined, confident, effective planner, visionary, and possessing the ability to manage resources effectively. Being structured allows me to set parameters that we can all work within to achieve the overall company goals. Structure builds bonds and a sense of cohesiveness in the workplace. This type of unity will be necessary for the success of the organization. We can all work towards common goals if clear goals are outlined for everyone. The other strengths will all work together as well.
A second strength would be an individualized consideration provided to each team member with a focus on self-interest which as a key advantage to accomplishing good work. My team trusts my guidance as their leader because they know that in the end I have their success as individuals in mind. Over time I have proven to them that I have no personal agenda to adhere to and therefore the decisions I make with regard to them are solely for their benefit. I am able to delegate tasks to individuals that I believe are willing and excited to accept the task at hand, whether they believe they are ready or not. It is my belief in others to rise to any challenge that fuels my strength as a leader. Only when they do not succeed, do I find it necessary to intervene and take action. This foundation of trust is also vital to my success as a leader.
During my senior design project tenure at Texas A&M, I had the opportunity to work with a team of students that had strong personalities. I believe that I exhibited traits of mindfulness, respect and leadership during this period. Though my teammates were generally positive and kind-hearted, it was still surprising when certain individuals would take great pride in knowing a simple piece of information, all the while stepping over you to look good in front of a sponsor. Oftentimes a decent piece of advice on my end would be used by a teammate to uplift their own standing. True, it was a common occurrence of the practical world in life, but I realized that I did not have it in me to walk over others in order to obtain success. I learned to become more assertive, yet maintain my sense of integrity and give credit to others for their ideas and achievements. I believe a leader exhibits such qualities. While being aware of themselves, the leader is able to rise above and treat individuals with respect and not as a means to an end. Similarly, I believe it is important to respect people based on the content of what they say, rather than how smartly they say something.
By taking the Seven Habits Profile I was able to identify some of the leadership weaknesses I see in myself. These weaknesses include how stress affects my behavior, a lack of creativity, and how my perception influences my leadership.
Strength 1: I am very organized and I am able to stay on top of multiple tasks at once. I am currently a TA and a full-time student, and a volunteer at the crisis line and at Camp Kesem. Because of my responsibilities, I need to stay actively organized

The Strengths Based Leadership assessment identified five strengths that describes my leadership skills: responsibility, relator, woo, communication, and futuristic. The dictionary defines responsibility as being answerable for all things within one’s control. To contain the strength of being responsible, one must deliver on all commitments, be trustworthy and dependable, as well as diligently attempt to complete tasks correctly the first time. Relator is defined as a person who understands the connections between people and their situations, as well as someone who tells a story. Gallup (2016) defines a relator to be someone who is intrigued by meeting and learning about other individuals, which could turn into a friendship or

The most powerful leadership tool you have is your own personal example” – John Wooden. According to my VIA character strengths my top three are Perspective, Spirituality, and Bravery. Perspective is being able to provide wise counsel to others. Having ways of looking at the world that make sense to oneself/others. Spirituality is having coherent belief about the higher purpose and meaning of the universe: knowing where one fits within the larger scheme: having beliefs about the meaning of life that shape conduct and provide comfort. Bravery is not shirking from threat, challenges, difficulty, or pain: speaking up for what’s right even if there is opposition: acting on convictions even if unpopular: includes physical bravery but is not limited to do it. It is very interesting to see the
My current strengths as a leader would have much to do with my ability to foster accountability, network, and to effectively communicate both verbally and written. Working in the healthcare industry change is constant so possessing these strengths makes a difference in the field. Fostering accountability is important when making sure that you are fair across the board and treating everyone with respect. With so many branches of healthcare networking and relationship building allows for many opportunities for future collaboration. Effective communication is the universal language which allows for those in leadership roles to be innovative when expressing visions and generating new ideas. When It comes to weakness struggling with lack of being
I am certain that because of my strengths, I am good at what I do however; I do have weaknesses that I have to overcome and improve. My personal weakness at work is lack of leadership. Currently I am in a position in which I do not possess the title of management. As a result, I basically feel that I do not have to show leadership or take initiative to take on the responsibilities of a manager when in reality, I am not.
