Organization and Leadership Analysis
Reflection on Seven Habits Profile I believe that the results after completing the seven habits profile prove that my transactional leadership style is intrinsic to my natural self. Simply put, transactional leaders work within the culture that exists and exert energy on the things within their power to control (Biscontini, 2015). My scores in each of the seven habits can directly relate to

A second strength would be an individualized consideration provided to each team member with a focus on self-interest which as a key advantage to accomplishing good work. My team trusts my guidance as their leader because they know that in the end I have their success as individuals in mind. Over time I have proven to them that I have no personal agenda to adhere to and therefore the decisions I make with regard to them are solely for their benefit. I am able to delegate tasks to individuals that I believe are willing and excited to accept the task at hand, whether they believe they are ready or not. It is my belief in others to rise to any challenge that fuels my strength as a leader. Only when they do not succeed, do I find it necessary to intervene and take action. This foundation of trust is also vital to my success as a leader. A third strength of my leadership practice is my ability to meet the goals of the organization in a timely matter. The trust that I have for our CEO allows me to challenge any of my assignments enough to clarify the needed outcomes and then I become fully supportive. With the weakened state of the healthcare systems across the nation, it is imperative that my team and I are responsive and quick to take action when called upon. The fact of the
A third strength I have is an inner drive to be able to stick to a task and get it done. Whether it is at work or at school, if I am assigned a task I make it a point to work at it until the task is done. If a deadline is presented in front of me I have something inside of me that forces me to keep working on it until it is completed and not just completed but done first the right way. Which leads to another strength that I have is a strong work ethic. In my profession in recruiting what I do reflects me and the company that I work for. When I go to recruiting events or career fairs I represent the company that I am there for. Everything about me such as my demeanor, my dress, my attitude, etc. reflects the professionalism of the company as well as any reports or products that are produced and put out by me. I take pride in my work and
Transformational leaders and transactional leaders differ from one another in the manner that they encourage and motivate those who follow them. Transactional leaders are defined as those who focus on monetary and tangible rewards as motivational tools for the daily operations (Marquis & Huston, 2015). Transactional leadership is associated with a clear organizational structure in which managers and subordinates understand their roles and know from whom to receive reward and feedback (Cherry, 2015). This type of leadership style focuses on motivation for the here and now to accomplish daily tasks at hand. This leadership does not focus on forward thinking or growth towards the future (Gellis, 2001).
In addition to my personal challenges my personal strengths interfer. A personal strength I have is talking , I love sharing my opinion. Another personal strength I have is giving good advice because I love helping people solve their problem or help make their lives easier. Lastly another personal strength I have is just listening because I am a good person to vent to because I don’t judge. Therefore I always spread positivity and lean a hand.
Today, with new leadership, I see a successful collaborative effort at work everyday. I see a team working full force to achieve the company’s common goal; and that is to provide, high quality, affordable care for all. Our leadership constantly exert their influence in to ensure that our team works as one to continue moving the organization forward.
My second key strength is showing gratitude to others. If someone does something for me or helps me develop a new skill. I show gratitude to them by thanking them, and I tell them that really appreciate their help. I am there for that person when they need my help.
Strength is that part of your intellect or nervous system that is more effective and productive than other parts. Throughout your experience of life, your actions or reactions drive different thoughts, behavior and emotion in your brain. The requests that are processed more efficiently and rapidly are known as your strengths. Nowadays, strengths-based approaches to work and life are gaining a lot of popularity and often they are used to improve leadership and create more productive and efficient work teams.
Other strengths that I exhibit include being structured, responsible, articulate, task-oriented, determined, confident, effective planner, visionary, and possessing the ability to manage resources effectively. Being structured allows me to set parameters that we can all work within to achieve the overall company goals. Structure builds bonds and a sense of cohesiveness in the workplace. This type of unity will be necessary for the success of the organization. We can all work towards common goals if clear goals are outlined for everyone. The other strengths will all work together as well.
This following will outline my personal leadership practices and potential future leadership. To analyze my leadership qualities I will use the Seven Habits Profile and a leadership theory to determine my strengths, weaknesses, and areas of opportunity for improvement. In conclusion, I will determine the best recommendations for long-term improvement as well as SMART goals, or short-term courses of action, for leadership improvement.
The organization chosen is ABE Defense Systems. ABE Defense Systems is a global organization and a premiere defense contractor,
Probably one of the most important issues when it comes to Family/Community Partnership is trying to get the families/community involved in what we are doing. By engaging parents, it will help us to see what we are lacking and what we need to do in order to have our families fully engaged. I feel that if our families/communities are not engaged in our program then we need to reevaluate in order to encourage their participation. By reevaluating our program we can further access what we need to work on. If parents/communities feel that they are not valued as part of our team, they won’t engage in our program. Both the parents and the community play a big role in the education of our children. Parents are their first teachers and the communities have valuable resources for the children.
My second and third ranking strength were Empathy and Harmony. Out of all the strengths these are the two I feel really go hand-in-hand. “Empathy-You can see the sense of emotions of those around you. You can feel what they are feeling as though their feelings were your own. Intuitively, you are able to see the world through their eyes and share their perspective. You do not necessarily agree with each person’s perspective. You do not necessarily feel pity for each person’s predicament-this would be sympathy not empathy. You do not necessarily condone the choices each person makes, but you do understand. The instinctive ability to understand is powerful.” “Harmony-You look for areas of agreement. In your view there is little to be gained from conflict and friction, so you seek to hold them to a minimum. When you know people around you hold differing views, you try to find a common ground.” (PH.Ds, Clifton, O., Anderson, E., Schreiner, L., Pg 26) When I was still digesting my strengths out of all the top five listed these two I am most grateful for, and in my opinion will be the most useful not only in life, but also in the
Another strength of mine is my passion and enthusiasm for the field. This trait is something I pride myself in and means that I put 100% effort into everything I do. My passion is evident by the autistic patient I work with. I give extra assistant with this patient because I want to and not because my supervisor requires me to. I volunteered over the other techs to be included in all her
I believe that my strength are that I am a fast leaner. I do not give up easily, and I also make sure if I am going go to do something I do it to the best of my abilities.
When creating a SWOT analysis, the goal at the end is to better understand the effects that key factors have on the organization as a whole (Strategic Planning Terms, 2016). A company’s need for focusing on improving efficiency falls on the shoulders of a good leader who can recognize the functional needs at all levels and project a vision to that succession (Hill et al., 2013). By listening to the needs of the patients and the people in the surrounding community, Palms West Hospital has a reputable status of medical leadership that responds to their cliental with benevolence (Palm West Hospital - Wellington Florida, 2016). Having a strong leadership status in the local community has given Palms West Hospital a competitive advantage over other facilities alike in the area. Mr. Eric Goldman, CEO Palms West Hospital, is persistently dedicated to improving medical results of patients by providing superior care and sustaining the National Quality Improvement Goals (Quality Report, 2016). According to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Lorna Kernizan, the hospital is also in a top leading position geographically as new developments are being built in the surrounding
As the healthcare industry continues to evolve, it requires people who attain great leadership qualities. The success of an organization depends on employees that can inspire people around them to achieve greatness and deliver quality care to the patients. Being in the healthcare industry, we have seen many changes recently. Therefore, by having a person with leadership qualities to guide others through these changes, while maintaining an organization that can deliver quality care is indispensable.
