Systems Analysis Report Desiree INF630: Systems Analysis The company, a manufacturer of heavy-duty power tools, currently uses manual technologies and methods to record repair orders for any work that is to be performed under warranty. While a legacy mainframe is used to produce reports which are then analyzed by engineers to determine any trends or problem areas in new hardware models, due to the convoluted and lengthy process to collate information from Sales & Service centers before they arrive at headquarters offers a substantial opportunity whereby the efficiency of this operation can be significantly improved along with a positive impact on development and customer service as a result. With executive backing the …show more content…

As stated in this case, the customer services business has grown doubled in the past five years as the advancement of technology allowed employees to investigate most software and hardware system faults from the center through remote monitoring. However, as the business grows, there are possibility of increasing work load and pressure that causes the rise of those negative feedbacks from both customers
The JC Gear Company has decided to initiate a project aimed at automating its production planning and control system. Among the options, the company focuses on two alternatives: (1) purchasing the most suitable system off of the shelf and modifying it according to its individual production needs; or (2) developing a system
One of the senior staff members (Jayne) needs to upgrade her work systems ands wants me to research systems that will suit her and present this as part of my present presentation.
According to Service Request SR-ht-003, We were to develop a design for a fleet truck maintenance database, located on the Huffman Trucking IT Service Requests site. This paper will talk about how our team completed the Change Request that was on the Huffman Trucking Service Request.
Riordan Manufacturing 's current process is not very efficient. It calls for multiple suppliers to ship parts to Riordan 's raw material storage area at regular intervals. These intervals have been set up in advance using production history as a guideline. This process causes a huge inventory spike during slow production times thus requiring a large amount of storage space and upfront costs. There is not a standardized method for the individual assembly areas to communicate parts shortages back to the raw material storage area. Also, as indicated during our analysis, the network infrastructure and current systems at the plant are very outdated causing system slowdowns and reducing plant efficiency.
“Those who study systems theory tends to view any system as the result of a dynamic interrelationship between its component parts and its whole. They view the parts as mutually determinate with the whole. Social workers utilizing systems theory view societies and social groups as dynamic systems. They are concerned with bettering the conditions of the individuals who make up such systems.” (Flamand, 2010) Systems theory is used by many social workers. This theory helps social workers understand how the surroundings of the client’s environment
Finally, the administrative office should completely revamp their office. While waiting on the new location, they need to clean up and streamline their process. Then, will not only the manufacturing process run smoothly, but also the administrative offices will run smoothly as well. The technology upgrade will give them an opportunity to computerize their process and this will help declutter and organize the limited office space they currently have now. The administrative staff needs to be prepared for new software and the learning process that will come with it. While it may take some time to learn the new process, eventually it will save them more time in the end.
An initial evaluation of accounting and inventory systems for all the Riordan Enterprise locations is required. We need to know what software is currently in use and how effective it is. If our evaluation determines that, the existing software is not performing all of the needed requirements it will be necessary to upgrade them as well. Next, we will need to evaluate their existing hardware to determine its integrity. If the hardware is also outdated, another evaluation will be necessary to determine what will replace it. If the evaluation of the hardware determines that the existing equipment is adequate, then we can proceed with the software upgrade. The request specifically asks for a complete system that is faster and interrelated into all of the locations. After the evaluations are complete a list of additional hardware will be generated and a timeline of what to be installed / upgraded where.
Computer Systems analyst focus on an organization’s present computer systems and processes and purposes information systems resolutions to assist the organization function more professionally and efficiently. They bring business and information technology together by understanding the necessities and limitations of both. They bridge the communication and indulgent gap among the IT department and business management, help each side understand each other’s proposals, outlooks and restrictions, improving inclusive business efficiency. Computer systems analyst careers engross researching and studying new technologies, they evaluate the expenditures and settlements to the company to help organization determine if the technology would expand business
Results-based monitoring and evaluation is a set of concepts associated with performance management or results based management (RBM) strategy, which evolved in 1990’s. During that period, many countries introduced extensive management reforms in responding social, political and economic pressures that were triggered by the factors of globalisation, budget deficits, structural adjustments and competitiveness (Binnendijk, 2000). Central feature to most of those reforms has been an emphasis on ‘performance improvement’ and ‘achievement of targeted/expected results’ which were the core features of RBM. RBM has been used by many development agencies, governments, and donor agencies in delivering development interventions and has become an emerging trend in contemporary development practice.
The solution to be implemented should felicitate higher coordination among the business partners leading to better information circulation and targeted customer approach, i.e. to make efforts that the same technician handles the same customer.
The new business process and integration tool also offered real-time visibility into its extensive manufacturing process, including tracking inventory, handling billing and monitoring vendor performance for on-time delivery and other measures. The system was fast, reduced errors and improved efficiency.
I know you looked into reusing one of the older systems we installed. I need to know what became of that effort. How do you think our customers will view this situation and what do you think is the best way to proceed? Character #2: Lucas Moore - Vice President of Manufacturing We are still using outdated technology for our scheduling. The industry has passed us by in computer use for manufacturing and we are in danger of losing our reputation as a world-class manufacturer. My education and my experience with Don's new inventory system have convinced me that computer systems can significantly enhance our efficiency and improve our customer service. We cannot wait two years for a home grown system that will probably have to be upgraded before it is completed. I have had extensive discussions with EMS manufacturing specialists, read their literature, and seen the proposed systems demonstrated. I am convinced the system will do everything we will ever want to do. EMS assures me there will be no problem integrating their manufacturing system with our financial system and we can be up and running in six months. Purchasing from EMS provides many benefits including: 1. Six months to install an advanced system versus two years to develop our own basic system. 2. The upfront cost for EMS is $220,000 firm against an estimated $400,000 cost for in-house. 3. We will get a proven,
The dealers ordered the requirements through fax or phone. This resulted in confusions between the manufacturer and the dealers. The technology that integrates all the different department’s needs should be communicated properly in any organization. This was lacking in the Four Star industries.
This is my reflective consolidation paper which is an end of course assignment and writing this essay about the experience I had while studying the course System analysis and design. When I went to my advisor for advising courses then she told me about System analysis and design and explained me clearly about this course then this course made me realise that I have a lot to learn and found it as very interesting and challenging.
