In this paper, I will explore asthma prevalence of children living in New York City. Asthma is an existing serious public health concern in inner cities and urban environments. Especially children with asthma from low SES families or minority groups face difficulties accessing health care, receiving high-quality continuous care, and preventative education. In other words, there is a disparity in the asthma prevalence and care in New York City.

In a study of 92 former NFL players, it was found that a total of 88 (96%) of them were afflicted with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE (Tyler). With such a high percentage of former NFL players suffering from this disease, one would think solid efforts would be being put forward towards a cure, or that a cure may even have already been found. But this is not the case. Very little is known about this disease, and there is no known cure for it yet. As the leading influence in the game of football, the NFL has the moral responsibility to fund research and put forth an effort towards reducing the risk of and eventually eliminating head trauma in the game of football.

After I read your post,I looked at the good and bad "asthma cities" on AAFA.org. I discovered that Oklahoma City was ranked the fifth worst in 2015. I knew a couple of kids growing up that had asthma and no longer have it now. I've always heard of some people outgrowing asthma and epilepsy.

Communication barriers exist between parent, school nurse, and healthcare provider. School staff feel unprepared for asthmatic attacks, especially since they are not told which students have a condition. No policies or protocols are in place to guide staff in what to do when a situation occurs. Staff are unsure when a student is responsible enough to be self-reliant. A screening template can be developed that can assist the nurse in performing a thorough assessment of an asthmatic patient. This questionnaire should be at an appropriate education level and question should be simple and direct. The questions should focus on the presence or absence of symptoms, activity limitations, exacerbations, missed workdays, and frequency of use of prescribed medications.

Endocrinologists are more knowledgeable about thyroid disease than primary care providers; therefore it is necessary to refer the patient in challenging clinical situations as listed (Garber, 2012).

The last patient utilized an alternative approach to create a TET. This patient was an adult with recurrence of primary tracheal carcinoma previously treated with chemo and radiation therapy. The tumor extended from above the carina into both the right and left main bronchus deeming it inoperable. The patient decided upon utilizing a TE approach to resect the tumor and transplant it was a synthetic scaffold. A POSS-PCU polymeric, synthetic scaffold was created based on the patient’s tracheal tumor involvement. MNCs were seeded onto the scaffold in-vitro along with injections of recombinant human transferring growth factor, G-CSF and epoetin. Thanks for the recommendations. The protocol already has a CRF created to indicate that informed consent & eligibility requirements are met including if a patient withdrawal from the study of if a death occurred. I’ve attached the forms to this message.
