According to the personality test on 16personnality.com I am an Adventurer. So that means I am introverted, observant, feeling, prospecting, and turbulent. On 16personalities.com they say adventurers get bored easily at work if they aren't constantly doing something. It also says that they always have to be working or doing something. I strongly agree with this because I use to not work and I would get so bored just sitting around the house. So I got a job at a tanning salon and I really didn't like it because all I would do all day is just sit around. So I found another job at Fuglers Feed Trough as a waitress and I love it because I am constantly doing something. Also on 16personalities.com they said people with this personality are
The surveys said that I am competitive, creative, determined, hardworking, focused, independent, and entrepreneurial. I am motivated by work that will lead me to a manager position. The idea of making money promotes me a great deal. I like work that is physically and mentally challenging. I would like to travel and experience different cultures and places.
The top three categories for the leisure assessment formed SAI: sharing, aesthetic, and inquiring. For the sharing category I scored a 95.833. The people in this category go by a familiar name “the helpers”. These individuals are concerned with the helping of other people and their welfare. Moreover, they are usually very helpful, kind, and understanding.. The next category, aesthetics, received a score of 83.333. The people of this orientation also go by a familiar name, “the creators”. Like the previous assessments, these individuals are creative and enjoy creative activities. They are usually independent and imaginative. Inquiring (the last category) had a score of 62.5. Much like the previous two categories, people in this group are, “the persuaders”. They desire activities that involve thinking and are typically analytical, curious, and intellectual. A huge part of my personality includes the desire to make sure people are okay but I am also very creative and imaginative. These traits combined help me to find different ways to help people. The analytical aspect of my personality is equally efficient in solving other individual’s problems
I would describe my personality as diligent, fun loving, and adaptive. I enjoy spending time with my friends and my sorority, yet I have taken on a position within that sorority that requires me to be on top of nearly all details taking place. I enjoy working hard to make sure everyone else has a smooth-running sorority experience. I like to go with the flow and enjoy like as it comes!
After reading about the six different occupational themes, I think the theory that goes with my work personality the most is the conventional theme. Those that fit the conventional theme typically have a need to feel secure and like to be in a routine, they value structure. They are organized, efficient, and detail-oriented. I think I fit this category because I really value organization, routine, and structure. Conventional people are typically interested in accounting, investing, and information systems. At work they deal with numbers and data, setting up procedures and systems, and keeping records. These work activities and interests describe what I am interested
My personality is defined as “Guardian” which fits my personality perfectly. Guardians are practical and down-to-earth, but they know how to have funs with their friends. They take their duties seriously, are hard workers and are dependable and trustworthy. They are most comfortable when life is structured (Keirsey, n.d.). I am a loyal friend who like to have fun, but follow the rules. My friends have said I am their “voice of reason”. I enjoy socializing with my close group of friends, but I am cautious when meeting new people. I enjoy watching sports, probably because there are defined sets of rule which allow for a fair turn for each team. I do not like when plans change suddenly. I am a planner and when things change I have to alter my plans.
Wilcock (2006) agures that boredom comes from occupational deprivation or imbalance. It is well know boredom is often experienced by this age group. To overcome this Martin, Sadlo & Strew (2012) suggest people need to be active in their occupations completing them in a mindful way. This resource will provide an opportunity for mindfulness through self exploration into desired occupations and future planning for broadening occupational
In the 41Q Personality Quiz, my personality is extremely extrovert, feeling based, judging, and sensing. In the 41Q quiz I shared personalities with Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Danny Glover, Dixie Carter, Jack Benny, Mary Tyler Moore, Nancy Kerrigan, Sally Field, Steve Spurrier, Terry Bradshaw, and William McKinley. My personality is professed as if I make decisions more on self-value and feeling, along with being organized, yet very outgoing with the outside world. My career suggestions are social workers, nursing, family care, counselors, office managers, or receptionists. I agree with social working such as therapy or counseling.
The first letter of my four-letter personality type is “I”, suggesting that I am an externally driven person. There are two different worlds that we live in. An introvert lives inside of their thoughts. I prefer to live outside of myself. I enjoy talking to other people. I am quite social and enjoy throwing parties and organizing social events like cook outs. I listen to what others are saying. I prefer to cook my own food. I also enjoy working on my car, home improvement, and Do It Yourself (DIY) projects. Proverbs 13:4 tells us," A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied." (Holy Bible, New International Version, 2001) While I do enjoy being by myself occasionally I prefer to be around others. When I start a task I prefer to
According to my IPIP-NEO narrative report I am a very independent, outgoing, calm, and curious person. My comprehensive report shows that I am: high scoring in openness, conscientiousness, and extraversion, average scoring in agreeableness and low scoring in Neuroticism. Raking in the 82nd percentile, extraversion was my second highest scoring trait. This means I am pretty outgoing, extraverted and love people. This is evident my scores of 89 in friendliness, 84 in assertiveness and 75 in activity level. Despite my high score in extraversion, I am on the lower side of average in the excitement-seeking facet with a score or 33. This means that even though I might like a little hustle and bustle and take charge I wont take to many risks and don’t always need a thrill to be satisfied.
For psychologists, one of the more popular theories espoused is the trait approach to personality, or “the idea that people have consistent personality characteristics that can be measured and studied” (Kalat, 2002, 512). However there are several problems that arise. First, there are significant cross-cultural differences, so one set of personality traits for one culture may differ considerably for another. The next problem would concern the creation of a test that could accurately measure these traits. While psychologists have for the most part addressed these issues, I will focus on the latter of the two. There has been a
The other important factor that can influence the behaviour at work is an individual’s personality. An individual with proactive personality is said to change his work environment, identify opportunities in his organisation, take action and utilize them to bring a meaningful change whereas the other individuals simply adapt, react and change according to their work environment. Most of the studies suggest a person with proactive personality
Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the Myers-Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very prevalent in my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Another indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse. Many times, I will enroll in classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in them. I also make choices without considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to attend other events. While friends thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my class due to absences. Being introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative qualities, but I typically benefit from my outgoing personality.
