Every society has many issues. Some of these issues are small and the others are big. These issues could be economical issues,

People with this condition are requiring a careful medical management to stay healthy and avoid complications of the illness and often require blood transfusions during significant illness or pregnancy (Children's Hospital Boston). Beta Thalassemia major originally called Cooley's anemia, is the most severe form of beta Thalassemia. It is caused by significant mutations on both of the beta chains. Patients with this illness require frequent blood transfusions to survive. They also require chelating therapy to remove excess iron that can build up in their bodies and cause extensive damage (Children's Hospital Boston). The symptoms of this type include fatigue and weakness, pale skin or jaundice, protruding abdomen with enlarged spleen and liver, dark urine, and abnormal facial bones and poor growth (Clinaero, n.d.).
TREATMENTS OF THALASSEMIA
Treatment of Thalassemia is different from one type to another.
THE EFFECTS OF THALASSEMIA
The effects of Thalassemia are divided into three levels which are the individual level, the national level, and the global level. The effects of Thalassemia at the individual level are concentrating on the person who carries Thalassemia. As (Hashemi, 2011) says "He or she will have some physiological problems, educational problems, and life problems. They also will be burden to their family". The effects of Thalassemia at the other levels which are the national level and the global level are

In the first week of classes we learned seven economic principles that would later be reinforced with examples in the class along with providing our own examples and analysis of the concepts in our own written work and debates about real world issues and events. We first talked about how incentives matter. In agriculture, and many other business sectors, incentives are very important and come in many forms such as subsidies or tax breaks from the government. It was also very important to learn about the shortages and surpluses that could amount from such incentives. For example, if the government were to give farmers prices above equilibrium, farmers would then be able to over produce above the demand levels. This is not to say that the government can’t sometimes improve the market outcomes. If a market failure is present and the government interferes, it would result in a positive market outcome. Next we discussed the importance of trade-offs and the opportunity costs behind those trade-offs. We make our trade-offs among three pillars of values: social/cultural, environmental, and economics and only when all three are balanced are we completely sustainable. In agriculture, trade-offs and opportunity costs are faced daily, and decisions should be made according to what is most sustainable now, and in the future. If a farmer decides to drain a wetland for more crop space to produce more (economic), the opportunity cost is the ecosystem being destroyed (environmental). Another example is if a farmer decides to farm organically, the opportunity cost is the increased yields of non-organic farming practices. Next I learned that rational people think at the margin. An example of this within agriculture is that a farmer does not think that he will hire five people to run two tractors, he thinks at the margin, hires two people to do the job, and therefore profits from that decision. I learned that markets are a good way
Currently more than 46 million people are impoverished. Poverty exists because the economic system is organized in ways that make the wealth, wealthier at one end and creates conditions that make poverty inevitable at the other. The economic system creates poverty in other ways such as the drive for profit. The economy will set value higher for competition. Competition motivates companies and management to gain control on cost. It makes it a common choice to move jobs from countries to countries where labor is cheaper and workers are neutral about working in poor conditions. Decision making also has terrible effects on millions and millions of people, families and communities. Having a full time job cannot guarantee of a decent income, which is why so many families depend on the two or more earnings from jobs or other adults just to make a living. Battling between work and families also brings a dilemma to families and decision making. For instance, divorce is increasing resulting in large numbers of single parent with families who have a hard time depending on themselves for taking care of their child or children and a living income. “A separate issue that contagiously attempts to measure trends in poverty and income levels more generally is difficult of measuring changes in the cost of living (Feldstein,
Sickle cell disease (SCD) occurs in 1 out of every 365 African American births compared to 1 out of 16,000 Hispanic-American births (1). SCD is a group of red blood cell disorders in which patients have a sickle or moon-shaped red blood cell due to an abnormal S hemoglobin. While sickle cell disease is relatively rare in American births, this is an alarming statistic among people of Sub-Saharan (west and central) African descent. An interesting fact is that SCD occurs more often among people from parts of the world where malaria is or was common, such as Sub-Saharan Africa (1). In addition, it is believed that people who carry the sickle cell trait are less likely to have
It’s devastating to see families struggle to get the simple necessity they need like: running water, food or even shelter. Social Class In the United States, the main problem with having social class is knowing that no matter how many people there are, there’s always going to be a lower class. It’s like a way to balance the economy.

Limiting certain substances in the diet can help prevent the buildup of potentially toxic substances that are normally broken down by the enzyme. In some cases, enzyme replacement therapy can help compensate for the enzyme shortage. These treatments are used to manage existing signs and symptoms and may help prevent future complications. For other genetic conditions, treatment and management strategies are designed to improve particular signs and symptoms associated with the disorder. These approaches vary by disorder and are specific to an individual's health needs. For example, a genetic disorder associated with a heart defect might be treated with surgery to repair the defect or with a heart transplant. Conditions that are characterized by defective blood cell formation, such as sickle cell disease can sometimes be treated with a bone marrow transplant. Bone marrow transplantation can allow the formation of normal blood cells and if done early in life, may help prevent episodes of pain and other future complications, according to the United States National Library of Medicine (NIH

In contrast, there are many benefits to this drug. One major benefit that has been discovered is that organ malfunction is prevented by hydroxyurea. In some cases, regeneration of splenic functions has been noticed. In sickle cell anemia, organ malfunction/degradation begins very early in a child’s life (Ware, 2010). The degradation will never stop, so treatment early on is very important. Hydroxyurea is easy to administer, and it is not harmful to children. This allows it to be used early on in a child’s life to prevent organ degradation. Hydroxyurea also results in fewer sickled cells, increased mean corpuscular volume, and less hemolysis (Ware, 2010). The prevention of these symptoms increases both life expectancy and quality of life.
Symptoms typically fatigue, low energy, exertional shortness of breath, and pale skin. Severe anemia due to hemorrhage may lead to death, particularly in elderly individuals with chronic heart or lung disease.

Poverty is a social problem that affects everyone on an economic, political and social level. The problem of human suffering is one that we must combat strategically on many levels. According to the United Nations, “in 2015 more than one billion people around the world live in a state of poverty, lacking the basic goods food, clothing, and shelter that humans need to survive” (“Poverty”). There are a great number of areas that keep individuals poor, such as lack of resources, inadequate income, lack of education, language barriers and the high cost of child care. Being able to work and provide basic necessities is our basic human right and we should not be deprived of these basic human rights that individuals need in order to live satisfying lives. The government has the responsibility of helping individuals in need with the economic assistance to feed, clothe, house, educate, provide health care and decent wages for every individual. They should ensure that individuals have access to resources that will help them build a better future. There are several ways that we can work together to strategically find solutions to end inequality among the poor individuals in our society.
