The author Stephen R. Covey suggests 7 habits very clearly for effective life. The 7 habits of highly effective people is a principle base on inside out, from dependence to interdependence. The first three habits are related to the personal success and next three habits are for the victory in society. He emphasizes that the highly effective people do not really manage time, they manage themselves and a dependent personal mind convey to the interpersonal mind through the 7 habits.

Its primary focuses are how to take control of your life, set and achieve goals, build friendships, maintain quality relationships, withstand peer pressure, and improve self-image. It consists of seven habits- Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the saw. These habits are each designed to help you lead your best life. From this book, I have learned to take care of and love myself, maintain healthy relationships with others, work towards my goals, and resist anything that could potentially harm me or prevent me from doing these things.

These positive attributes extend to the Honors Program with the addition of a challenging academic curriculum. I am in pursuit of the best version of myself and that version is at the Liberty Honors Program. Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, as the title suggests, outlines exactly what one needs to do to be an effective person. I hope to gain each of these seven habits from an Honors Program Education at Liberty University: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergy, and sharpen the saw.

The purpose of this paper is to reflect and make an analysis of the general strengths and weaknesses of a leader, provide recommendations, thoughts of overall performance to improve on this person’s leadership style in which practices and theories were utilized most effectively. Upon such, draw conclusions and provide an integration of this leadership practice into my own leadership practice. The accomplishment of this will be achieved by identifying several key practices from published documents surrounding and encompassing the leader, and comparing them to known relative concepts for a holistic view of the approach.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a modified version of his father’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Unlike Stephen Covey, who wrote his book with the audience of adults in mind, his son’s book is targeted towards teens. “ Covey avoids the academic writing style that one will find in Stephen’s and delivers the seven habits model in an easy to read, humorous style that does not lose any of the impact of the seven habits” (Change Management Coach). Being both entertaining and visually appealing, Covey goes deep into the seven habits while adding life experiences of both him and family. Included are also the stories of teens around the country. Each habit builds upon the next; therefore you cannot have habit two and three without habit one. Although together, the habits makeup an effective teen, separately, they each help in different ways, mentally and socially.
