A Psychology disorder known as anxiety disorder, is the most common in the United States. In a result of, 18% of 40 million people suffers from anxiety. However, there are six different types of anxiety disorders in the results of stress, depression, social interaction, obsessive compulsive, and phobia. Which characteristic functions as a natural part of life, that can be treated thought several methods. Anxiety is a feeling of numerous of things, whether its danger or a sense of threat and even butterfly’s when becoming nervous. In Fact, anxiety disorder was discovered in the 1980s by the American Psychiatric Association. In my opinion, everybody has had a moment of anxiety, it’s a major part of life. Due to the fact, that life has a lot to do with social interaction and based on human characteristics. Many people with this disorder, feels the need to act upon something. Anxiety, helps the mind get ready or be prepared in certain situations. On the other hand, some people experience panic, fear and even nightmares. This happens when the thoughts in the mind become over whelming. This illness can also just run in the family as a genetic trait. In fact, I think anxiety is most common in women. Especially, women that are pregnant, with all the stress and feeling judged by becoming bloated with the baby and fluids. Some even go through the depression stage after the baby. Anxiety is a small, fair skinned, and timid being. Her fraternal twin sister is Fear and her cousin is Depression. She is so small because she is constantly worried about things like her appearance, school, money, family, and her size. She rarely eats due to her self consciousness and forgetfulness but still wears a dark long sleeve hoodie two sizes too big. Her skinny jeans range from colors of dark blues to black. She tries to keep herself covered up because of her fear of her size, this is why she is so pale. She has big dark brown eyes that are covered by her long black hair because she is constantly looking down, away from others. She has a small crack down the side of her cheek from stress.
The mental illness I chose to write about is one that my mom suffers from which would be panic disorder. A panic disorder is a form of an anxiety disorder.
Anxiety can have such distress that it hinders with the power to lead a normal life. If anxiety causes worry and fear are constant and overwhelming, and can be disabling. A Panic disorder is a condition that one’s has a feeling of terror that comes suddenly and again and again with no warning. Other symptoms of a panic attack include sweating, chest pain, shivers and it is an unusually strong or irregular pulse. It can seem like you are having a heart attack or "going crazy." Although, a panic disorder can be frightening but normally it does not hurt others.

Anxiety is a feeling we can all relate too, some worse than others. Believe it or not, anxiety can be a normal feeling. The emotion you get before an exam, new job interview, or going on the first date, that is anxiety. There are differences in normal anxiety and pathological (abnormal) anxiety. Normal anxiety should last for a short amount of time and cause some discomfort. Now if the anxiety starts to become prolonged and causes the person to become incapacitate, that is when it becomes pathological anxiety. One of the serious disorders that come from anxiety is called Panic Disorder (Anxiety disorders in Adults). The most common demonstration of panic disorder is a sudden feeling of fear or discomfort without a recognizable trigger, along with at least four of the following symptoms: dyspnea; dizziness or faintness; palpitations; trembling or shaking; sweating; choking; nausea or abdominal distress; depersonalization; numbness; flushes or chills; chest pain or discomfort; fear of dying; and fear of doing something uncontrolled or going crazy (The western journal of medicine). For those who go through life with a panic disorder can understand exactly how much of an impact it can have on life.
Anxiety Disorders is a serious and common mental illness, often defined by the feelings restlessness, worry and fear. Everyone feels Anxious now and then, it is just a normal emotion of everyday life. An average person might feel a little anxious when, for example, they have a business interview, but a person with Anxiety Disorders might feel anxiety every time they leave home, or get out of bed in the morning. Anxiety Disorders can take a number of forms, these forms include Panic disorders, Social anxiety disorder, Specific phobias and Generalized anxiety disorder.
The most common form, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), is where someone is constantly worrying about everyday things for a period of more than 6 months. This form of anxiety is also very common in conjunction with panic disorders and obsessive compulsive disorders. Phobias are another form of an anxiety disorder. Some common phobias include the fear of snakes, blood, spiders, and airplanes. Phobias are an extreme fear of something that doesn’t actually pose any danger to the person. Social Anxiety Disorder is where a person has an irrational fear of social situations for fear of being embarrassed or feeling awkward. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder caused by a horrific event like living through a natural disaster, being in a war, or surviving a terrorist attack. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), is marked by repetitive behaviors such as washing your hands three times before eating anything.
