Assignment #3: Canadian Workplace Culture Meeting and Greeting: Canada is a highly diverse country that comprises people from different cultural background, therefore, we need to be mindful and cautious about the way we extend greetings to people. When extending greetings to people, it is important to say good morning, or hello, and how are you doing today? More importantly, introduce oneself, while demonstrating a positive body language to avoid misinterpretation of our non-verbal languages because people share different beliefs and value system. Teamwork: working collaboratively with people in a workplace creates a positive environment and atmosphere. Ensuring congruent attitude in and out of the workplace is very important as it helps reduce the risk of conflict among co-workers, or the supervisor(s). Teamwork helps build sensitivity to people with different cultural background. Socializing: when socializing in a workplace, observing your co-workers and other people in the environment is really important, as this will help identify people’s limitations when building rapport. Some people are extrovert, while some are introverts depending on the settings. Ability to relate with people from different cultural background and maintaining it is very essential, as this will create a positive environment at all times. Importance of teamwork is that when a team works well together they tend to understand their team members strengths and weaknesses. Strong teamwork can benefit from the team members and I say this because they become more capable at splitting up tasks so that they are accomplished by the members of the team that are more highly qualified. If businesses didn’t have strong teamwork within their business, it could make everything a lot harder for managers of the business to settle certain staff members, whom can fulfil tasks at their incomparable standard.
It is essential to have teamwork within a company. Companies who have embraced the concept of teamwork have reported increased performance in work production, problem solving and it has stimulated new growth. This group project approach has improved employee morale and increased input when managed correctly. The benefits of teamwork can make a positive effect in the company that incorporates this type of teamwork approach.

It reminded me of Santara story because has disabilities and yet she is able to attend college and has a great friend that supports her. Her friend is open and excepting of how who Santara is. Teamwork is the backbone of effective communication and the crucial cog that keeps the wheel of successful project management turning.
