The CDC is a worldwide resource for control of diseases. While the Georgia Composite Medical Board is an agency that licenses anyone in a healthcare job an example would be physicians. This board investigates healthcare professionals complaints. They also discipline the healthcare professionals who violate the Medical Practice Act. They can violate other laws though. (Purpose and Mission Statement). Nevertheless, these laws govern the way the health care providers should behave. In other words, if someone breaks a law, they will be disciplined, which could result in them not being able to practice anymore and having to give their badge. They both deal with health care, but in different ways. The CDC or the Center for Disease Control was founded on July 1, 1946. However, it was first known as the National Communicable Disease Center NCDC until 1970. According to the CDC, “the primary mission was to investigate and control communicable diseases. The CDC started with less than four hundred employees” (Our History Our Story 2015). However, they now have grown to more than 14,000 employees “in nearly 170 occupations” (Fast Facts 2016). Consequently, this indicates just how much change has taken place since the CDC was founded. They initially worked on Malaria control, but since then expanded their brand to encompass all infectious disease. This is interesting since malaria was a tremendous deal back then and they helped create some devices and all to protect the U.S. against
