The Dark Night and The Clown Prince of Crime
“All it takes is one bad day.” – Batman: The Killing Joke, 2016.
Batman and the Joker are not usually seen as comparable characters. However, there are similarities that are often overlooked. Firstly, one needs to know what their origins are. Joker’s origins are not as well-known and typically never stay the same throughout movies and comics. Batman’s origin is very well-known and typically stays the same throughout movies and comics. To illustrate, while walking home from a cinema, Bruce Wayne’s mother and father, Martha and Thomas, walked into the infamous “crime alley.” There, an unknown robber shot and killed both of them. Bruce swore to avenge his parent’s death. Soon after, a friend of Martha and Thomas Wayne, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, along with the Wayne family’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth, made out a plan for Bruce where he would not have to be taken by Gotham’s Social Services. Instead, the two helped young Bruce realize his destiny in becoming one of Gotham’s finest heroes. One of the most commonly known origins of the Joker is the one that is featured in Batman: Killing Joke, The Issue #1. In the comic, during flashbacks, the Joker is an unnamed engineer who has quit his job at a chemical plant to pursue his dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian. Knowing that he is not great at his job, his pregnant wife, Jeannie, confronts him and tells him that with that job, he will not make enough money to pay the rent or support
The Joker, is a purposeless criminal. He will destroy anything, or anyone who gets in his way, just to accomplish his goal, to break Batman's personal rules, to never kill or harm anyone, but to save Gotham City from danger and
To people that have comic book illiteracy, Batman and Superman would seem like they would be pretty similar to each other, which is true but only to a degree. They have similar names, outfits, and both live two different lives, etc. On the other hand, when it comes down to what makes these two men special, they are polar opposites. They have differences in backgrounds, powers, motivations, and in what makes them popular among fans. Despite their similarities in outward appearances, Batman and Superman are exceedingly distinct from one another.
The Joker has no alter ego. He walks around the way he is with his deformed face full of scars and in some versions, with his bright colored hair and bleached skin, always with that maniac, chilling laughter which always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He has no personal agenda to all the brutality he inflicts, no thirst for revenge or materialistic goals made him reach this point. He lives to dismantle the codes the society lives by and all he hopes for is to rip apart the expected codes of morality, so the people can then be free of any faith, any belief of right or wrong. He creates situations for the people of his town
he lost his wife and child, and was disfigured by chemicals. he always makes this death joke that starts with "one bad day" and explains how he got his scars. what happened is his father who was a drunk went home one bad day, hit his mother and cut his face with a knife after he saw that the joker wasn't to happy with what was going on. he says his father said to him with the blade in his mouth "why so serious?" his father then continued with "lets put a smile on that face", and that is why he has his scars on his
The fourth question asks why there are differences between The Joker and the rest of us. “Freud would argue that different people develop in differing environments and had different childhood experiences” (Psychoanalysis of The Joker). The reason The Joker is different from all of us is his complicated past. Due to unknown childhood experiences, he never developed a superego.
This may be due to the fact that he is trying to avenge his parents' death. During one of the episodes, there was a device that could show the deepest secret of a person and Bruce Wayne used this device. From this it was revealed that a major reason for him becoming Batman was because of the incident. Throughout many of the episodes, this theme appears many times.
The opening scene starts off with five small-time criminals working under the devious mastermind that is the Joker. The dark,
Batman originally began as a DC Comics' detective a superhero quite different from the one envisioned by Nolan and company today. Batman was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939 for Detective Comics, and for more than two decades it depicted a hero defined by his mystery-solving techniques and cast of quirky characters against whom his braininess and eccentric costume could be balanced (along with his knack for solving crimes). Needless to
Batman is one of the many fictional superheroes which appears in the “American comic books” that is published by the DC comics. The character is a secret identity for Bruce Wayne, the only heir to Wayne Enterprises. Bruce Wayne swore an oath of vengeance when he witnessed the death of his parents;Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne (Diamond, 2015). Bat man combats criminals in Gotham: a fictional city, with assistance from various characters, for example, his butler Alfred and Gordon; Gotham city police commissioner. Unlike many of the superheroes characters, Batman possesses no powers .Bruce Wayne trained himself intellectually and physically .it is from dedication to training he possessed the useful traits of physical prowess, martial arts skills, detective skills and indomitable will to fight for justice. Though his motive is to combat crime and protect people of Gotham city from criminals, the justice system in most of the times views Batman as a villain and vigilante. He can inflict fear to Gotham city criminals thereby bringing calmness to the city. I identify myself with the Batman character through his selfless will for justice, his strong determination to do good
One of the greatest villains of all times is the Joker, you may never know what's on his mind, but he sure is the most scariest and more ingenious villain of all time. The Joker is a great villain he can challenge Batman to push him beyond his limits, it seem's like the Joker is obsessed to make Batman see what he did wrong. The Joker and Batman are like 'brothers" Batman being the older brother and the Joker the youngest, the Joker will never kill Batman but they are destined to fight forever. The Joker sees the world as a cruel Joke and is willing to rule he's not like other villains they want money but he does not he wants power, but Batman always wins represents triumph over death.
Non like his arch-nemesis Batman, he is a man of average height with a skinny frame. He has a pale melted clown face with green hair and red lips. Also known as a “psycho clown”, The Joker is impulsive and immense; he follows his own twisted sense of judgment and has no yearning for money. One thing he does desire is control and complete mayhem into Gotham; although, that would be a problem as long as Batman is around. The Joker has different strengths, one being his cleverness, which is his best weapon against Batman and the Gotham police.
First of all, there is an argument as to where he actually came from. Different movies and comics have had different points of view. There is no back-story for his character. "The Joker has always had a durable history of crime, of course,
After the tragic event, Bruce swore revenge on criminals and vowed to avenge his parent’s death by protecting innocent people of criminal’s attacks. In the comics, Bruce does this by training himself not only physically, but also intellectually (in the television show “Gotham,”
Superman has powers like flying, x-rays, and heat vision. With his power Superman faces responsibilities and difficulties in calm and adequate ways. The opposite of Batman is that he is more aggressive and very impulsive in the moment to attack. They are very easily distinguished either in a comic book or a movie for their customs in different colors. Batman outfit is gray with black and a mask which anyone could determine the evil and dark he represents by the outside. Superman is in a brightest outfit representing America and the kind a hero they will choose definitely to fight crime. Frank Miller only wanted to bring Batman a little bit different with other perceptions including his principal rival Superman to make the story interesting and give the opportunity for many readers to notice wrong actions from our comic heroes.
It's not quite fair to say that the late Heath Ledger steals "The Dark Knight" from Christian Bale and the forces of (problematic) good, but, as the Joker, he is the movie's animating principle and anarchic spark - an unstoppable force colliding with the immovable objects of Batman and director
