The newspaper can be very informational if you just really sit and read it. Reading is good for the rain. I love to encourage my children to read something so that they will not be so attached to the television. My father was born in 1935 so the television wasn’t a big part of his everyday life. He preferred to read the newspaper. With the newspaper you can cut clippings out and make a scrapbook on certain things that you can go over later in life. Another thing I found out with the newspaper is that you can get the news but it will be a couple days or so later before it reaches you, that is one down size of it.
The television can be a great thing for the society because you are able to watch live new or watch anything in live. With the television you are able to see things whether it is new, entertainment or history in motion. Between the 1940s and 2000s, commercial television had a profound and wide-ranging impact on American society and culture. It influenced the way that people think about such important social issues as race, gender, and class. It played an important role in the political process, particularly in shaping national election campaigns. People will now promote their businesses through television commercials to get people to come to their company. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, television quickly emerged into a popular and greatly desired entertainment system in America. Socially, the television not only embellished what the time period believed to be the “ideal” family, but the new technology also helped pull women closer to a world vacant of sexism and stereotypes, while also drawing African Americans closer to a society without racism, segregation, and prejudice. As well as social benefits, the television substantially impacted the world of politics by airing the platforms of political candidates and broadcasting important news concerning America. Additionally, the fields of advertising and

The media is one of most popular sources of information we use in this generation. It has given us the opportunity to communicate with others over social media and connect with discuss all the outlets that interest us. Whether it be sports, music, fashion, social media, or news outlets the media will always have an influence over our society. The media has the power to make great changes in our society. However, it still doesn't understand that with great power comes great responsibility.
In the past century, there have been many different developments of mass media. Starting in the 1900’s, newspapers and magazines were the main sources of communication. With these being the only way to communicate, the news came slowly and often late. In the 1940’s the radio came out. With this quick source of news, people often tuned in before and after the war for updates that were given. The radio was, by far, the quickest source of news at this time. In the old days, we would get our source from the newspaper, since technology has rapidly evolved we now also get our source television, internet, and radio. More than eighty percent of adults follow the news multiple times in a week and about fifty seven percent go thru
