There are so many different superheroes but the most popular are Superman and Batman. These two characters are the best American superheroes of all times. Superman and Batman are both extremely courageous and from each we can take something to inspire us. We do not live in a perfect world. As the story of Batman shows, the challenges in our lives make us to become who we are. Superman, who is not a human being, reminds us that the world can be better with the help of all of us. We have to be better people in order to help others. Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. (Gunderman, 56).

Superman skills came naturally. He can carry heavy things. He has superfast speed, bulletproof body, supersonic hearing, laser and x-ray vision and cannot be bruised easily. The only thing that can kill Superman is kryptonite. For Superman to do good and save humans is a calling. He fights to serve the world and to protect his city, Metropolis. Superman is a character of light as the colors on his costume are light colors, red and blue. He fights his crimes in daytime and that makes him visible most of the time. Gary Engle describes Superman as the ultimate American, “Superman is the greatest American hero” (Engle, 1).
Batman was born on planet Earth as Bruce Wayne. He is a human being who decided to become a superhero after the killing of his parents. After the death of his parents, the family butler raised him in a rich environment with good education in a big city. Bruce Wayne does not need to work because his parents were rich and after their death, he inherited their company, Wayne Enterprises. Batman hides his identity in order to protect the real Bruce Wayne. He is a handsome, millionaire playboy that likes to show off. Wayne likes to live his real life on the edge. Coming from a rich family, he has access to anything. Batman does not inherit his power naturally. He is a superhero without superpowers. He had to work very hard for all of the skills that he has.
